We are looking for a catchy web template that will be easy for us to work with. I would like for the template to be easy to navigate and unique. Something interactive and fun. I would like the viewer to know right away that the site is about Martial Arts.
other web sites that we like: We are very open to any ideas...
I like many of the designs that I have seen in these contests. As long as it is catchy and makes the viewer think, "martial arts".

You'll have ti right click and save the images and upload them to your post. Tripod doesn't permit hot linking to images on their server. We are seeing an image that says images hosted by tripod :)

If only I was a template designer, I'm a martial arts fanatic and did 5+ yrs of Tae Kwon Do (TAGB) but then moved on to Kung Fu more interesting.

Palmer,
Thanks. I fixed it. I am really looking forward to getting an actual dot com soon!
I need to get one of those "pop-up-stoppers" on my cpu. All of the pop ups are getting out of hand.
I have a few other pictures that I will try to post soon. I can't wait to see a few designs.

2square,
Yes, Kung Fu is very interesting. It is a lifestyle more than a fighting technique. I study Kung Fu Wu Su - Chi development. Good luck.

The style I'm doing is Pak Mei, there are only the 2 of us as the Master will not teach anyone else until 'we are ready' as he puts it, and it's been 4 yrs now. He's a chef at one of the local Chinese restaurants and that's where we train so we get a bowl of noodles afterwards :lol2:
Apologies for going off topic :)
This should be very interesting! Im in! Btw, in what format do you need the design-psd,flash,html?
Can you provide us with more images? I checked out your current sit and I see nothing but ads.
SeaJay

exoillusion,
I am sorry about all the ads. I guess that is the neccesary evil of a free server...
I am trying to get more images by 8:00 pm tonight. I need to size them down a bit.
Format: I know basic HTML and was hoping to input all of the text and information on this web site/template. Flash is very nice, it is fun, "interactive" and catchy -> but I don't know how to edit flash. If you can integrate flash into the template in a way that I would not have to edit it, that would be great. If not, no problem.
Bottom line: I am hoping to see a template that I can edit (ad text and basic information such as contact info., about our school, mission statement etc.)
Thanks :D
My entry would be html then. I'm not really good at flash :D
Hi Seajay
I will make entry soon (flash and html)
Thanks

Here's my template. I had a fun idea and ran with it :D. Easy to navigate and different per your request. Let me know if I was going in the right direction with this one. Its always fun to post first B) .
**Disclaimer...I don't know what the japanese symbols mean. I just downloaded a japanese font and put a couple characters in. They can be changed to more meaningful symbols later.

The first entry! It is nice to finally see a design. It looks great. I really like the -hanging- navigation bar on the side with the dragon. Looks nice. Would those buttons have some type of rollover effect?
I like it. :)

Well I did say if time permits and this afternoon I thought I'd take a hour or so off to work on this project.
Now I don't often enter the template contests as I'm no way as good as the rest of the guy's but here are my submission...please be gentle ;)

That is awesome! Very nice design. It is unique with a really nice layout! Good job 2square.
Palmer (or anyone who knows): When I choose the winner, can I specify which buttons or links should be on the template -add or remove certain buttons-? I'm still a little sketchy on how to edit the template...
I would also like a button for "Tour The School"
Thanks
ant1832
10-15-2003, 10:30 AM
I'm sure whoever wins would add or remove some buttons before handing over the completed version. Althought, after the template is created and your site is up and running for a while the designer would probably ask for compensation for additional buttons you would like to add in the future.

Thanks for the feedback.
As regards to your question when you have chosen a winner you both then by email or PM discuss the tweaking of the template, but if you require any more then the what is set out in this contest then you will have to come to some agreement with the designer regarding cost's.
Thanks again
Michael

You guys are unreal! These are some awesome designs. I knew they were going to be good, but our web site is going to blow the rest out of the water. We are real close to making a decision.
pod: that template is incredible. 1 question: how hard will it be for us to update/input information with that template. Is it all flash format? I have swish and macromedia homesite...would these work for editing with that template? I just want to be able to edit in text or new schedules, news etc., thats all.
disturbReality: three words for you: I love it!
Hi SeaJay ,
Thanks for great feedback.I'm glad to hear from you.
Please don't worry about editing, İts not full flash template only text effect & menu area made with flash all other features in regular .html format and I 'will make all flash edits for you. You will just entered your text. You can make all text and graphic edits in any html editor.
Thanks

I really like your template. I have a few suggestions/questions.
1. How hard would it be to add music to the home page? Just a short intro type song.
2. Replace the location of the flash buttons with the Millers ... logo (see number 3).
3. Bring the Meet Jeff Miller and rest of buttons to the bottom of the page where it says Latest News. Change Meet Jeff Miller to Meet Master Jeffrey Miller.
a. Meet Master Jeffrey Miller
b. Meet the Staff
c. Location
d. Become a member
e. Take a tour
f. Tae Kwon Do Program
g. Hapkido Program
h. Yoga Program
I. Grasshoppers After School Program
j. Schedule
k. Contact Master Miller
4. Change gray to blue.
5. Can you make HTML buttons at the bottom, very small? An alternative for those whop cannot use or do not have flash plug-in. (Many work-place cpus do not have the flash download.)
6. Thank You!
If you are unable to make these exact changes...no problem. I am open to your ideas but would like these general arrangements.

One last question, can you center the whole template? I want to see what that would look like.
Thanks.
Uhh  I thought the deadline is on Nov 1. Can I still enter?

Glad you like it SeaJay as I do ;) ! Thanks for the feedback :) I doubt it's the corresponding word, although that's what intent to. I just thought that it would be cool to put chinese or japanese characters to give the template a "martial arts" feel.
