Thanks for making the first submission!

My feedback:
-- The guru character doesn't look very trustworthy or smart to me. Perhaps it is the huge mustache...
-- The typeface looks too similar to "Impact", the overused Powerpoint font. I'd prefer something more modern.

@djaka re: post #4

This is a little better but the character now looks a little crazy. I don't see this design direction improving enough to make it work. Your later idea is better.

@djaka re: post#5

Like this better than the earlier versions.
The 3 items in the logo mark are too many. Please try focusing on just the middle one. Also, I don't like the typeface; it isn't as easy to read as the one used by Logoholik.

@Logoholik

Thanks for submitting!

I like the typeface. I'm surprised at how much i like the all lowercase.
The logomark is a bit confusing.
First, I don't know what it means -- is it a person? a star? It is very important to me that the mark be meaningful and not just an attractive design.
Second, the mark is visually challenging like an Escher drawing. Is the star design supposed to be carved into the corner of a 3-d cube (like an indentation)? If so the shading doesn't work. I'm just not sure how I'm supposed to look at it.
Thanks

@Logoholik

Thanks for the explanation -- it got us thinking. Maybe you could try something like a little character holding up a box like "this one's the best!"

@giant

Thanks for your design. I really appreciate the cleverness of the mark.

The problem I see is that it it looks so "cute" that I think the site is about baby products (maybe because of the little tuft of hair) or maybe pets. I'd have trouble trusting that little guru to advise me on a $3000 plasma tv purchase for example.

Thanks again.

@DraganB

Nice work!

This covers a lot of what we requested. Looking at the mark though, it is so distinctively Indian. If I didn't know the brand I'd think it dealt with imported goods from India.

Could you try to make the character more of a generic helpful person?

Think guru as in "expert" and less as in "Indian spiritual leader".

Thanks

@RelevantStudio

I'm not sure what to make of these marks. The top one seems to emphasize physical strength which isn't really relevant to what ProductGuru does. The bottom one (post #22) is very 1950's which again seems unrelated to the design goals.

So far, this is the guru character we like best. Thanks!

We like the head but the "g" effect is now lost. Please either just use the head or turn the rest of the G into a fuller body (it doesn't have to look like a "g" anymore), maybe holding a box to represent a product.

Thanks for all the work! We like #31 best. Could you try a product box or cube in his hands instead of the stars? Thanks!

@giant re: #34

The product sort of looks like a diamond now. In any case I think this concept has gone about as far as it can go.

We like the cleverness of your work -- especially #17. Could you try a new concept without a character? Focus on the idea of ratings, "picking the best", winning an award, etc. Thanks!

@djaka

Hi. Just to reiterate, we much prefer #31 over 32, 33, and 35. Could you try a couple variations on 31? Could you use a slightly heavier typeface? All all the typefaces so far the one we like best is the one from #6, 7, and 8.

Thanks!

Both #39 and 40 are improvements on the earlier versions. We can't decide which one of the two we prefer. Thanks!

@samoyloff

Thanks for the new design direction!

I like the box but the small mark on the bottom facet doesn't say enough. Please try forgetting the turban and instead focus on combining the box concept with concepts like:
- ratings
- picking the best
- award winning
- rankings
- reviews

Also, in the logotype we prefer the bold emphasis on "guru" rather than "product".

Thanks!

Can you split it 3 ways?

Thanks
