Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Right now we are unsure whether to go with our full business name which is pretty long but what we have been using:

What type of product or service do you offer?
wedding photography
How long have you been in business?
5 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We are upscaling our business and want a new logo to assist us with this process. We haven't had a consistent look to our company yet and want to do that at this point.
What are your long term goals?
Run a company that makes good money but allows us freedom to live a good life :)My husband wants us to be one of the top wedding photographers in the world...
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
We would like to decide pretty quick and not draw the process out forever - so April 15/08
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Female generally (with a few males) ages 21-40 engaged to be married.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
We have recently been adding a bit more of a family audience to our clientelle as our portrait business grows but it hasn't been our focus.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
We would like a design that we can use as a stand alone symbol, with our company name and/or our web address.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Black, white and grey. These are the colors we have used on our website and blog. We feel it represents a modern, upscale look. See http://www.creationsphoto.com
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
We would like to show our personality.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Capturing relaxed, natural emotions.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
We love what we do. We love working with people that are relaxed and natural and don't mind getting romantic in front of us. We deliver a high quality service in a relaxed and friendly manner.
Where will your new logo be used?
On our web site, blog, business cards, sticky notes, cards, back of books we design
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
we are in our own little world :D we only have friends not competitors...
List competitive URLs if possible
What sets you apart from your competitors?
our personalities, how we relate with our clients, how comfortable they feel with us...
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
relaxed, natural emotions
A few notes:
The flash site that I have running I chose to appeal to the brides that we work with - I am not a big fan of flowery things - this site just worked for me cause it was all quite muted.
