I’ve worked with you folks on two other projects and really respect your creativity. I know you can have some fun with this one.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
1st Annual Lemos Dogtoberfest

<o:p></o:p>
(Note: “Lemos” is the name of our corporate sponsor. It doesn’t necessary have to precede the word Dogtoberfest.
What type of product or service do you offer?
We’re hoping to make this is an annual community event that includes a wiener dog race, Frisbee disc dog show, pet costume and talent contest, and vendors selling all kinds of pet related products. We hold it in October, hence the name Dogtoberfest. Lots of opportunities to celebrate the harvest, change of seasons, and of course Halloween. It’s all fun and wildly zany. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We want to have a event logo to reuse every year with a slight variation (perhaps change the breed of a featured dog?) that is recognizable with family fun. The event is a fund-raiser for several non-profit dog organizations (dog rescue, humane society dog park groups, etc)<o:p></o:p>

When is the deadline for final entries? April 20th to share with our corporate sponsor.<o:p></o:p>

What type of logo would you like?
We’re open to your creative ideas. It needs to work on t-shirts and letterhead to invite vendors to participate. Perhaps a combination of a photo of dog incorporating icons of the season like pumpkin, ghosts, corn stalks, etc. The first year we would like to feature a dachshund (wiener dog). It could also be a cute representation of the event name Dogtoberfest with embellishments.<o:p></o:p>

What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fun, zany, good for kids<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Where will your new logo be used?
Letterhead, post cards, signs, website, newspaper ads.

DraganB and others-

Thank you so much for the submission. We need something a little more zany. Pardon the crudeness of this (I am not a designer) but perhaps something like this coat of arms, include a Bavarian-style font, in the background weave in aspects of the event like wiener dogs, frisbee dog contests, dog goodies like dog bones, seasonal icons like a pumpkin. A coat of arms is usually a little "busy" in the background. Obviously simplify the colors to about 3 instead of the mess I have.

Does this give you a better idea of what we're looking for?

Hello, here is a logo from me. :)

Deanna & Kekepania - Can I see your versions with a wiener dog in profile in place of the dog(s) that you have? Also, could you find a Bavarian style font to use for the text - that's readable but still conveys the "German" feel for this event.

Deanna - could you change the shape of the "badge" to one that looks more like a coat of arms. I tried to do that in my crude example but failed.

Thank you all so much!

Kekpania - Could you weave our sponsor's name into your design in a subtle way?

Hello again, here are my revisions, let me know what you think, thanks. :)

Kekepania - not sure if this is possible... but could you put a mask and cape on the dog with the dog bone? A costume contest is a big part of the event. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful submissions! All were very creative.

We have decided to go with Kekepania for our logo with the last version that she submitted.

Can we move this to the revisions forum for final tweaking?

Thanks again everyone

Kekapania -
1) Can you make the orange in the pumpkin and leaves a darker color

2) Can you move the dog bone in the dog on the right further into the mouth

3) Can you add a thin darker colored outline around the medal? The pale yellow just fades into the white background

Thank you!

Ok, I replaced the orange with a darker orange, and darkened up the pumpkin leave and vines. I also added a thin stroke around the shield and moved the bone further into the dogs mouth. Let me know if there are more changed or revisions you would like to see.
Thanks. :)

Almost there. Push the Lemos oval up a little higher than how you placed it in 2_5.

Also, I'll need a version without Lemos when/if we get a different sponsor. Can you put something else decorative in that space that's appropriate for a version that we might need in the future?

For my records, what's the name of the font you used in Dogtoberfest?

Where you thinking of having an empty oval version, without the LEMOS type in it, or did you want something else in that space? Do you have anything in mind you would like to see in that space besides the oval?

I moved the oval back up and put an orange stroke around it so it wouldn't get lost on a white background. The font I used is called Sassafras. :)

Thanks!

How about 2 horns/bugles crossing in place of the oval?

vinpark

Could I also see this with a thin decorative braid around the logo instead of the solid line that you added?

Hello, here it is without LEMOS. I added two bugles and the decorative braid. Let me know if you like them or not. :)

vinpark

I like the braid.

Let's skip the bugles as they're distracting and leave it with the Lemos oval at the top as in version 3. I suspect that we'll always have a sponsor and will need that space for a sponsor name.

Please arrange to send me the files in all formats.

Cool, sounds like a plan. I will start packaging up all the different files for you. If you could send me a private message with the email you would the files sent to, I will send them off. :)
Thank you.

Client files have been received. Sorry for the delay. I couldn't figure how to extract the stuffit files on a Windows workstation. But I've got them now.

Thank you very much.
