Project Summary:
• What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
funeralology
• What type of product or service do you offer?
Continuing education and training courses for funeral directors
• How long have you been in business?
1998 as a funeral consultant
1987 as a funeral director
• What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
this is a new business unit for my consulting agency
• What are your long term goals?
to be the provider of customized and personal training and education for the funeral industry
• When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
1 week (April 27, 2008)
Audience Profile:
• Please describe your existing audience
funeral home owners and managers as well as funeral directors
• Who would you like to add to your audience?
more funeral directors;) + students of mortuary science colleges
• Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
a logo that exudes stability, trust, knowledge. The stability of an old, established university – combined with modern, hip, cutting edge.
• What type of logo would you like?
text-based logo, with an example of the word itself, and one with “.com”
Prefer landscape, but not too long as eventually I would like to have it on T-shirts, golf shirts, hats, and coffee mugs
• What I don't want
I would prefer not to have too much (or any) graphics other than the text
•Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
The theme that I will use for this site is at www.FuneralFuturist.com (http://www.funeralfuturist.com/) (don’t mock the logo, that project will be posted up here soon), so something that would go with the brushed metal / chrome look. Red can also be used, but not more than 50% of the design is to be red – the color is: #CC0000
“Web 2.0” look is ok, but not manditory
Communication Strategy:
• What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
The name says it all – this is THE place for the study of funeral service.
• What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Funeralology – the go-to place for your continuing education requirements
• Where will your new logo be used?
website, promotion materials mentioned above
Competitive Positioning
• Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
funeralreview.com - boring
arcmesa.org – not really a logo, isn’t funeral specific
• What sets you apart from your competitors?
delivery of high quality courses, showcasing the latest strategies
• State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
leading the funeral industry into the future
I would like the logo in vector format as well. Thanks for reading my project!
