Hi,

I need a logo for the new company that I have just registered.

The name of the company is Trader's Forge.

The objective of the company is to help newbie traders for various financial instruments ( stocks, options, foreign exchange, etc ) in taking the first baby steps in their journey to becoming a successful trader.

As such, the company sees new traders as raw material and itself as a forge where the raw material will be heated, shaped and honed into an object with immense value.

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Trader's Forge

What type of product or service do you offer?
Resources for newbie traders

How long have you been in business?
New biz

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
The first stop for new traders.

What are your long term goals?
The first thing that comes to mind of any new trader is us.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Tentatively 1st May

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
None

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Anyone interested in learning how to trade.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Nothing specific in mind

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
red and white. the colours used in the japanese candlesticks in charting. Also the colours of my national flag

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
a picture of a man holding a hammer in one hand ( which is raised ) to strike at a piece of material in the shape of the word "trader" ( that is being held by the other hand ). The material ( aka trader ) is resting on an anvil or something similar that has the shape of the word "forge". But I am open to new ideas.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Trustworthy, friendly, reliable, prefessional

What is your tagline or slogan?
"Your companion on the Trader's Journey". Open to suggestions if there's any.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That we are the best place to start on the journey to being a trader.

Where will your new logo be used?
I will be using the logo for my business cards, website, stationary, etc.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
There aren't any at the moment

List competitive URLs if possible
Not applicable

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Not applicable

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Thanks

Aaron

Hi nhr,

many thanks for your response. The design looks awesome and is pretty much what i have in mind. And it would make the already great design look even better if we could make a few minor adjustments to it.

a) add a bit of depth to give it a 3-D view
b) can the word "forge" be shaped to look like an anvil or something close to it ?
c) would prefer that the hand is holding on to a tool that is clamping on the word "trader's" instead of just touching it with the hand.
d) I like the colour of the words for the bottom picture but would prefer the background colour of the word "forge" to be in red ( like the top picture )
e) could the figure of the man be made with moderately more muscles ? ( not the Mr Universe type though )

That's all for now, can't wait to see the revised piece of work.

Thanks

Aaron

Hi,

Thanks for your speedy turnaround. Nice work with the 3D effect and the rounding of the corners. Just a couple of adjustments.

a) Prefer the man figure in the first installment with the hammer raised. I have attached a file ( excuse the crude image ) of what I have in mind in terms of the other hand holding a clamp or tool that was in turn clamping on the word "trader's" to hold it in place
b) white words on red background

Thanks

Very very close my friend ;). A bit more tweaking and we are done.

This is the one that I choose.

Here's another crude drawing of the pair of tongs that I would like the man to use for holding on to the word "trader's". Hope you can beautify the tongs a bit more as my artistic ability is close to zilch.

I've also indicated the colours that I would to be applied to the words "trader's forge" ( white ), man and side of the words ( black ), the background of the word "forge" ( bright or fire engine red )

Thanks

Aaron

Almost there. :D. Many thanks for your patience.

a) Could the tongs grip more of the letter "T" as circled in the first file ( grip.jpg).

b) Would like the hand holding the tongs ( grip2.jpg) to be shown as gripping it ( similar to the hand holding the hammer hammer grip.jpg ) instead of just having the tongs resting on the hand.

The rest is PERFECT!!!

What a piece of work!! It's like seeing the image on my mind downloaded onto a computer. That hammer grip on the tongs is exactly what I needed.

I realised that I had been pretty vague in giving you specific details on how the tongs should be gripping on the letter "T". I have attached a picture with a couple of arrows showing the exact location of where I would like the tongs to come into contact with the "T". Hope this is the last time I'm sending you back to the drawing board...

Many Thanks

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Have you decided to work exclusively with NHR? If so, I can move this to Revisions and you can finalize the changes. If not, I'll leave it in the logos forum open to submissions from other designers.

Awesome!!! One last thing, could you position the hand nearer to the end of the tong. Where the red circle is ?

Thanks
