Hello all, this contest is to create a 8x11 (double-sided) brochure for a new environmental product we're launching called Print Audit Green.
The brochure design should be very similar to the layout of these two brochures:
http://printaudit.com/downloads/pdf/Print_Audit_Facilities_Manager_Brochure.pdf
http://printaudit.com/downloads/pdf/Copy_Audit_Touch_Brochure.pdf
Here is the source file for the Facilities Manager brochure. You can use this as a template:
ftp://PAMarketing:download@ftp3.printaudit.com/FM_Enduser_Brochure_Illustrator.zip
All of the images and other content needed for Print Audit Green brochure can be found here:
http://www.printaudit.com/temp/greenbrochure.zip
The main image for the front of the brochure is a picture of central park. Do what you can do make it look good on the brochure. The color of the sky may clash a bit with the blue on the brochure, so you may want to crop out the sky or change the tint of blue in the sky.
Page 2 of the brochure has a table with numbers showing how many trees we've helped companies save. Come up with some cool way to format that. I'm still working on the logo for this product, so please use the included Print Audit 5 logo as a placeholder for now. The logo logo will be very similar to it. Page two may be a crowded but please try to fit it all in without making things too busy.
Due: May 9.
Thanks!

Hi Trevor,
here's my idea.

Good start guetizo, on page 2 you can remove the testimonial that's on the upper right. This will let you make some of the other stuff bigger, such as the blue free trial sentence at the bottom of the page. What can we add to the paper/magnifying picture to give a bit more of environmental feel? Can you try adding a leaf or something to it?
trevorh

Maybe you'll have room to make the facts section a bit bigger too then.

ElKootcho, are you still have problems?

Test changes:
Make the first sentence on page 2 of the brochure bold.
Change the second sentence to: Print Audit Green, powered by Print Audit 5, is designed to help companies better manage and control their printing.

Guetizo, also add a bit more spacing between the 2 bullet points that are under the green headings.

Guetizo, looks better, you could maybe try adding even more of a 'green' feel to it by adding more green to the background. For example the gray background section could become green.
Nuts, I like the green feel but it may be a little too much. I would remove the leafs around the pictures and instead just sprinkle a few leaves/trees around the page. Also the green sections at the bottom of the brochure seem to really overpower the other sections on top. Can you try to balance things out more?
Thanks.

Lets replace the quote with this one.
"We use Print Audit mainly to make people aware that there is a cost associated with printing…with the Print Audit software in place as a deterrent, our printing went from 2500 pages per week to 275 pages per month."

Nutscreative, much better, can you also edit the front page to reduce the number of trees and stuff. The trees on the front cover are a bit too "flowery". The ones on your new page 2 are better.
Guetizo, better, can you add a couple leaves or trees to the cover too?

Not crazy about the leaves, how about trying to put a few trees into the background instead, like you have them at the bottom of page 2.

Can you make the middle big tree a lot smaller and move it to the upper left corner so more of it is visible.

Hi guys, i think your designs are both looking good. One thing I don't quite like is that the 'Create green-friendly users...' section is in a box. The section should be more consistent with the 'Reduce unnecessary...' and 'Understand your...' sections. I know its image (screenshot) is different from others, so that's why you did it that way. Guetizo, you could put the 'The Facts' section into a box instead of the 'Create green-friendly users...' section.

Thanks.

Guetizo, replace the leafs at the bottom of the brochure with a tree please. Nutscreative, it looks like you cut off the top of the screenshot. Also i'd make the screenshot a bit bigger. I'll make a decision after this round. Thanks.

Ok, one more revision. Guetizo, i prefer your cover -- the tree in the background looks cool. However I think Nuts' page 2 looks a little better. It looks a little less crowded and I like how large his 'What is your company doing...' and 'free trial' sentences are. Can you try to space things out a bit more? You can shorten the quote to this:
"With the Print Audit software in place as a deterrent, our printing went from 2500 pages per week to 275 pages per month."

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for the feedback.
Here are the revisions request.
I had to move the quote to its original position (upper right) and I also spaced out things a bit more by analyzing/modifying all the text parts of the brochure to get more room down the bottom.

Nutscreative, some revisions to make:
Change the second sentence on page two to:
Print Audit Green, powered by Print Audit 5, is designed to help companies reduce waste to positively affect both the environment and their bottom line.
Shorten the quote on page 2 to the way guetizo has it. You can then make it a bit bigger.
Remove the ‘…’ before ‘This means that…’ and add a period to the end of that sentence.
Change the ‘This means that…’ sentence to ‘This means that Print Audit customer’s are helping to save 90,004 trees per year. Make the number a different color so it stands out more.
Make sure each bullet point has a period at the end of it.
Change the quote on page 1 to this:
"Our waste has decreased to less than approximately 8% and paper usage in total is now under control. I estimate Print Audit has reduced our cost of operation to one quarter of what it used to be."

Can you make the 90,004 stand out a bit more? I will have a few other small tweaks and I'm still waiting for the logo to be finalized. I'll let you know on Monday.

More changes, change the second sentence on page 2 to:
Print Audit Green, powered by Print Audit 5, is designed to help you reduce your waste by giving you complete control over your print environment.
The quote in the top right could be a little bigger still.

Hello, we finally have the logo finalized. Can you replace the Print Audit 5 logo with this:
http://www.printaudit.com/temp/printauditgreenlogo.zip
On page 2, have can leave the Print Audit part in white and replace the round "5" logo with this new one.
Other changes:
Change 'Educate users of' to 'Educate users on'
Change 90,004 to 90,000. Also add the word over after save in that sentence.

I found a couple more typos:
On page 1, please make 'central park' 'Central Park' instead.
Change 'initiatives can' to 'initiatives will'
Change customer's to customers
Also on page 2, change customer's to customers
After you do this can you send me a pdf of it? Try to keep it under 1.5 mb's in size. The format should be two page, like this brochure:
http://printaudit.com/downloads/pdf/Copy_Audit_Touch_Brochure.pdf

Hello, there are a few issues with the pdf. See the attachements. Most of the lower case l's appear bold with the latest adobe reader...the logo also has a dotted line running through it in adobe, but that's pretty minor.
The screenshot labeled 'nitro' is what the logo looks like in NitroPDF, which is a pdf program we use here at the office. It's very jagged looking. Any idea how to fix that? You could try rasterizing the logo. If you don't mind you can download a trial of NitroPDF at www.nitropdf.com .
