Thank you kekepania and nhr for your submissions. Unfortunately it's not quite what I had in mind. However, I would like to see some other submissions from both you. In the meantime I will also look at some other designs in other posts to give you some sort of idea as to what I have in mind. Thanks again and I look forward to your other designs.

Thank you for your submissions - although still not quite where we would like it to be, we are getting somewhere.
We like #8, #10 and #11. However they are not that eyecatching or impressive enough to finalize or even see different versions. Maybe, just a thought, could we do something involving a jigsaw puzzle piece-like on the website www.k12-solutions.com when you scroll over the solutions you see the globe with puzzle pieces. Just a thought, if anyone wants to try something around that. Thanks again everyone!

We would like to apologize to the forum for sending private messages to the designers for criticing or aplauding their submissions. We were not aware that clients were not able to do that. We will post our coments on the forums.
Thanks!
Having said that, we would like to thank all the people that continue to submit their designs. We like posts #9, #10 and more recently #19. These designs are along the lines of what we had in mind. We have a request, could you please submit it in a business card format so that we are better able to visualize what the final product is going to look like. If anyone has any questions, please contact us via whatever method is allowed. Thanks again!

Hi,
Just to make you aware of a couple of our policies, the designers are not allowed to show mock-ups in logo projects, so they will not be able to show what the logo would look like on a card, sorry.
Also, they are free to ask any questions to get clarification on an issue in the open forum, it's just private communication that is not allowed while the project is undecided (although once a designer is selected, you may communicate by any means you desire).
Thanks!:)

Project Update: The project deadline has been extended to May 27th.

We wanted to let all the designers know that although we have received a few submissions, we are not totally thrilled with anyone in particular. We mentioned in an earlier post that we liked the concept of #9 and #19, however we feel that we have seen other posts by a lot of the same designers that have posted on this project that shows a lot more creativity.
We have extended our deadline until the 27th and we are hoping to see a few more submissions.
kekepania - your first post was more in line with what we would be after. However, we have seen a lot of your work on other posts and feel like you have ideas that you could apply to this project. Maybe we are not clear with our expectations, so please feel free to ask questions that might help both parties to clarify what is expected.
nhr - you didn't hit the mark. We were almost positive judging from your other posts that you would be in the running. Again, we would like you to try a different approach or different concept if you have the time.
freetime - We liked your post #9, however we need to see some more from other designers as well as yourself if you wish. I am sue that you have seen some incredible talent on this forum and we feel that there is a perfect design waiting for us from you or your fellow designers.
giant - We liked posts #10 and #11, but something about it doesn't quite capture us. We liked the font you used but we feel the whole design seems a bit boring. I guess we are looking more for a "logo" concept. We would definitley love to see you give it a shot again.
skyvee - We liked your post #19, that is along the line that all of us had in mind. We would like to see other variations of that and maybe even a different approach if you have the time.
To all, if you guys can look at posts #9 and #19 you will understand the look and feel that we're after. We are requesting you guys to get some ideas from these designs so that we are all on the same page. Looking forward to seeing some great posts. Thanks!

Once again, thank you for the recent submissions. We really appreciate all the entries and different perspectives on the logo design.
skyvee - we like the creativity of the logo for post #29, however we find it a little too busy. It seems like it has too many different levels and it's all over the place. We liked the "clean look" of your post #19.
unorthodox - we like the very clean look of the logo, but it feels like there is something missing or it needs a little more flavour added. You are on the right path though.
LutFi - This is a little too "wild" for us. As you will notice from the comments above, we are looking for something very clean and corporate looking. Something that will be clean, crisp and flexible enough to be put on stationary, embroidered golf shirts, etc.
freetime - could you please add "doing IT right" in post #9.
Thanks again to all and we will wait for anyone who has any final submissions or changes that they want to submit.

freetime - thanks for adding the slogan
giant - thanks for the revisions of the previous two entries. Both posts #37 and #38 are along the lines we had in mind. Very clean and corporate. Alhough we like post #37, something about it reminds us of an ad for the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. It's a pretty creative design but for some reason it's not pushing us over the fence. Like the new colour combination.
nhr - We really appreciate your variety of submissions. You are really putting in a lot of effort. However, you are completely missing the mark. If you look at the comments we have made on the other designers, you will notice a common denominator in the postings that we have liked. Thet are all very simple, clean and corporate looking. The font in post #39 doesn't really do much for us.
unorthodox - Thank you again for another entry. We like the font in the SOLUTIONS part of the logo, we like the layout but we unanimously feel the "K" in front just doesn't blend in with the rest. It seems to stick out on it's own, and it feels like it doesn't belong with the rest of the verbiage.

Hi everyone,
We wanted to take this opportunity thank all the designers who participated in our design contest with some great entries. Unfortunately we had to pick one winner and that was not an easy task. After much review it came down to two designs ...
Skyvee Post #19
Freetime Post #35 (second one)
We wanted to see the two designs that we picked set up like a business card. We know that you guys have certain rules pertaining to that, however we have spoken to Abby and she has authorized only the two finalists that we have picked to present logo in a business card format.
You do not need to put our names or addresses on the card, but make sure that you put a name and address so that we can visualize what the final product would look like.
We will make our decisions as soon as we receive entries from both designers. We all feel that both logos are excellent but the one that looks best on a formatted business card will win.
Good Luck!
Project Update: Skyvee and Freetime I approve this request by the Client to see your concepts on a mock up business card. No business card design just your logo on a rectangle with a mock up name and address. Once the Client sees them both they will pick their winner. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you

Freetime - In all your presentations you had entered small font logos and lettering. On your business card format it's quite large.
Could you please centre the "K12 solutions" in the business card and follow the same format as your entry and enter one final business card format entry - thans!

Not quite sure what you mean by "small font logos and lettering"
Sorry, Could you explain a little more?

Freetime = could you make the rectangle the size of a business card and centre your design in the middle and then add all the verbiage (address, phone etc.) I think the logo and the font (of the design) look big because the rectangle is so small. Let's give it a shot ...
freetime
06-18-2008, 03:42 AM
I'm still confused. The card is the size of a business card. When uploaded, the entire document is reduced. The card is actually the same size as SkyV's.
Are you wanting the logo centered vertically and horizontally?
Sorry for the confusion.
Arman110
06-18-2008, 07:31 AM
Freetime - yes horizontally and vertically - and increase the size of the rectangle so that when it uploads, it reduces it to the correct size. - Thanks!
freetime
06-18-2008, 07:34 AM
I don't know the percentage that it reduces. I believe most of it is based on monitor settings.
My work computer has the card the exact size. My home computer has it reduced.
So, really all I can do is post what I can.

Thank you again skyvee and freetime. The reason it has taken so long to come to a decision is that our votes were split exactly in half. So we decided to add one final extra vote from an outside party to break the tie. Once again it was not a clear cut decision and a very tough one to make. In the end the last vote went towards freetime.
CONGRATULATIONS freetime!!!
