The design is for a web based application that will be used by hospital and clinical staff to order prescribed medication.

Website Details

1b) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
The existing web site is here: http://www.hospira.com/default.aspx
Although the design should not specifically follow these guidelines. The web site will be completely separate from the web ordering system.

This is critical and must be delivered by 20th May if at all possible. It would be of great benefit to review any potential designs as soon as possible.

2c) Will you require HTML coding? (Yes/No)
All styles should be provided via CSS.

3c) If so, will you require it to be ONLY CSS layout? (Yes/No --- {fees})

4c) How many pages coded will you require delivered? ({fees})
There are a number of pages that are included, all pages should be styled with a global CSS style. Critical styling is the table layouts, textboxes, navigation links and button styles.

Are there any other comments/specific ideas we should keep in mind while designing your project?
Navigation should be provided down the left hand side as shown in one of the attached screenshots. The navigation may be applied to all pages but this has not yet been decided. There will also be a breadcrumb trail at the top of the page somwhere. None of the styles or layouts in the attached screenshots are fixed, they are merely a representation of the types of information that will be displayed.

Hi Squad,

Thanks for the posting, some initial comments from the client are:

Can some of the fonts be changed, especially the navigation links and table headings - they seem a little blocky.
Links below the Log-in should be moved to the footer.
First image is 'too blue' and doesn't fit in with the rest of the colour scheme although the purple shades look good.
Not sure about the tabs in the header - would need either permanent navigation tabs or no tabs at all since a single tab doesn't seem to add any value.

Hello Wibberlet,

Here is my idea.

I do have one question in regards to the site layout. Are you wanting the whole layout in CSS (layers) or HTML controlled by CSS elements (Table formatting however design elements such as links and text styled by CSS)?

Thanks

Zoe

Hi Wibberlet.
Here is a revised version from me. Feedback appreciated.
If could provide us with a vectorial version of the logo, that would really help.
Have a great day.

Hi Zoe,

Thanks for the designs - we like them too!

Client respose is:
Slightly lighter colours preferred for header and footer - is there a lighter shade in the marketing document that could be used perhaps?
The size of the header and footer are significantly too large. The tables within the application will contain many items and have to be paged - this is my fault for not making that clear.
We would prefer a much smaller header (reduce the purple part)
The footer should have links for Terms and conditions, contact details etc
Would like to explore a gradient / textured fill on the header if possible?
Breadcrumb trail is good.
Is there any way to indicate high / medium / low priority tasks - perhaps with the use of icons/traffic light indicators or other means?

Hard to suggest many other changes since the original designs are very good.

Just checking on what outputs are needed css/tables etc - will post shortly.

thanks :)

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. I am confused by one comment that I hope you can help clarify:

"The size of the header and footer are significantly too large. The tables within the application will contain many items and have to be paged - this is my fault for not making that clear."

The footer section of the design simply fills what ever white space is left after the content has been added to the page so in most situations it may only be 50px high. I will however include an example of this in my next submission.

The part I am unsure about is the part where you mentioned the items have to be paged? Do you mean to add numbers at the bottom of the tables to click through to more results?

Thank you

Hello
I'm working on concept for your project. Will upload it during next 24 hours.

I have made some changes based on the comments provided.

In the footer I have used the same purple as there is no lighter purples in the marketing kit and the other colours are very bright. Rather than using black as my texture making the purple seem darker, I have used white as the texture to help lighten the purple.

I introduced the green to help break up the blocks of purple.

I have also tried to show the different ways the footer will be/can be displayed.

Image 1: Login B - Same as before, lighter colours, gradient and smaller header.

Image 2: Login C - Fixed height for footer bar.

Image 1: Administrator B - Lighter colours, resizable footer dependent on content and screen resolution.

Image 2: Administrator C - Fixed footer bar

Image 1: Administrator Customer B - Lighter colours, resizable footer dependent on content and screen resolution.

Image 2: Administrator Customer C - Fixed footer bar

Image 3: Administrator Customer D - Lighter colours, resizable footer dependent on content and screen resolution. Extra content filling white space.

Thanks for all your input.

Before we can finalise this design we need to see some ideas on calender visuals. On the home page the idea of the traffic lights is to indicate, on a day-by-day basis (focussed on the next working week), orders that need attention urgently (red), soon (orange) or are ok (green). Ideally with the number of orders embedded into the coloured icon.

Zoe - Can you put some faint 'grid banding' on the grid displays? Could you also put tabs for the top level menu groupings and when displaying the second level/maintenance screens use the full width of the screen. Finally the login screen with the fixed footer might look better with a band under the picture to the footer, maybe in grey with the official Hospira crop (portrait).

Thanks again to you all.

Hi,

The visual idea that I was playing with is something based on is 'what orders need attention in the next 5 workings days'....

See attachement....

We would also like an icon/button/image/link somewhere that displays how many 'pending orders' the customer has...

Thanks.

Hi all,

Thanks very much for your ongoing contributions; there is one options we would like to explore a little with your design Zoe.

Could you please change the second image in posting #11 so that the tasks are listed below the main body of text rather than to the right hand side (where you have currently positioned them).

A sample of the kind of information we would like to store is provided in the attachment TL1.jpg.

Basically we are thinking of using image indicators that represent progress - along the lines of those in #19.

We have not made any final decisions yet but are keen to wrap this up in the next week.

many thanks
:)

Hello Wibberlet,

I have a feeling you may have missed my last message where I was unsure of what you meant by the grid displays?

Was holding back on my revisions so I could clarify your last requests.

Thank you

Hi Zoe,

We are looking to close this out in the next couple of days....we would really like to see your ideas on the 'grid display' posted recently (15/6/2008).

Thanks.

A big thank you for all your design ideas.....

Zoe - we like your latest posting (#26). Could we try one final cosmectic change please. We like the idea of the 'tasks' section on your previous posting (#11)...this seems to balance the homepage nicely....could we try moving the 'grid' display (keeping the same design as in posting #26) & other task elements (pending orders, etc) into this 'tasks' section on the right (keeping the grey title 'tasks' and boarder line as in #11) and keep the welcome text in the middle. We also think that the top 'welcome picture' could be a little bit bigger than in posting #26 (sizing wise somewhere between #26 & #11 possible). We know these are cosmectic but it would be really nice to see it before signing the design off finally.

Thanks again.

Thank you for your feedback.

Here is the updated page. I can change the image in the centre if it is not quite what you are looking for.

Thank you

A big thank you to all who contributed towards this design but time pressures mean that we need to close this design off now.

Zoe - we are very happy with your final posting. Can you please action what needs to happen to close this off. We need to get this style sheet integrated into our first set of deliverables early next week. So we would appreciate if this design can be close as quickly as possible. Thanks.

Thanks again to you all.
