What type of product or service do you offer? "USA Voice and Data" offers telecom brokering and telecom consulting services

How long have you been in business? The two companies ("Chicago Voice & Data" and "Optimized Telecom Solutions") that are merging to form "USA Voice & Data" have both each been in business for 4 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? Brand awareness and something we can actually market

What are your long term goals? To be a customer focused company dedicated to providing unmatched ROI (Return On Investment) for our clients from their telecom expenditure. A company that leverages technology and process excellence to ensure the highest possible quality of service delivery and ongoing account management. A company that is easy to do business with as a client, which offers it’s business partners a mutually rewarding business relationship, and it’s employees respect and somewhere they enjoy working. Please describe your existing audience Our existing clients are Small/Medium sized Business owners, CFOs, CIOs and Office Managers looking to get the best value for the telecom services. Our existing business partners are Small phone equipment vendors and IT outsourcing consultants.

Who would you like to add to your audience? Larger sized clients with larger telecom spend and larger sized business partners (with more significant numbers of existing clients to market to).

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like? Simple and striking but not gaudy or gimmicky

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) Not really (but because the name of the company is USA Voice & Data, red white and blue might be appropriate??) Must work in color and black and white.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? No

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? Professional, reliable/dependable, knowledgeable/expertise, integrity, value

What is your tagline or slogan? Not really settled on anything yet but could be something like "Business Telecom Solutions", "Optimized telecom solutions for YOUR business” or “<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>’s #1 Choice for Business Communications”

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? Let us take the headache out of brokering your telecom services and leave you to focus in your business. Thanks for the broad spectrum of concepts.

Still some work to do here but here is some feedback which hopefully will help you ALL move your designs forward or start a new concept.

Of the designs so far, our favorites were
1) Kekepania Version #1. We liked the Nike like swish/ring. Wondering what it would look like if it wasn't as broad in the middle as it kind of washes out the USA in the background. Also would like to see some alternate fonts. Liked the capitalization of V and D, versus some of the entries who had them in lower case. Would also like to see what VOICE & DATA would look like all capitalized.
We liked the colors but wondered if we could see a few more, maybe a darker blue?

2) J Johnson Version #2. We liked the globe like feature, indicating the global reach of telecom. Also liked the thin line details through the US. Would like to see some alternate fonts and also using and ampersand rather than "and". Can you also show us what it looks like with "Voice & Data" capitalization versus all CAPS?

Thanks for your revised and new concepts!! Let's keep up the great progress....

To assist here is some specific feedback for each designer and version, but designers please read all feedback (both this and our last lot of feedback) as feedback for another designer might very well help you with your design concepts as well.

Kekepania - Version 3 - Like the capitalization, color and font changes, they are much better. Could you try an even more "Royal Blue"? Could you also try a little spacing between the USA letters as with the new font they have morphed into one? Perhaps you can play with rising the swoosh a little as well so even with the new font it doesn't quite sit on the tail of the S in USA?? Could you also give us another version of your original Version 2 but with the same new capitalization, color and font? Thanks!

Freetime - Version 1 & 2 - Really liked the use of arrows, very cool and tied in with the concept of upload and download as well as speed. Preferred 2, with just one color used for USA. Can you play with all the fonts? The font for the VOICE & DATA in particular is hard to read especially the ampersand. Prefer Kekepania Version 3 colors to yours, but also see his feedback above and apply likewise. Finally can you provide me two alternatives, one with the USA in red and VOICE & DATA in blue, and one the other way around? Thanks!

Guetizo - Version 2 & 3 - Much better and moving in the right direction. Please change to VOICE & DATA. Please change color of VOICE & DATA to that of your swoosh. Version 3 swoosh gave indication of speed but the tail looks a little untidy. Can you play with the swoosh style to indicate speed without loosing the "tightness". Also please play with some other fonts for both the USA and the VOICE & DATA. We really want them to be easy to make out, even when small and in the corner of a business card. Final thing, please play with the positioning of the VOICE & DATA, we felt it was a little far right and left the overall logo a little unbalanced. Thanks!

Carol Taldo - Version 2 - Shape and company name looked a little disconnected. Liked the fonts though.

Kogar - Version 1 & 2 - A little too abstract. Sorry but a bit too "Olympic Ring" or "Crop Circle" for us.

Like the colors of the first or one on top. Can you show us a version with the logo with a swish thru only the A like in the version 2? Please also show the swish in varying orientations (sloping to the left and to the right). Also is there a way to make the Voice & Data standout more in red? Finally could we see another separate version with some sort of a single cloud shape around the whole logo. 108649

Sorry but no idea why the attachment didn't work but really that doesn't matter, you folks can come up with a much better depiction of an internet/network cloud than the simple clip-art cloud that I was trying to attach!! :)

Voice and Data services are delivered via an IP (Internet Protocol) network these days, so the concept was potentially to show this using a network cloud around the whole logo.

Please see what you can come up with and I will give additional feedback.

Think the cloud needs to have more curves to it than the 3 on Kekepania's version #9 and not to be such a thick line (which for some reason for me makes it look a little less professional, versus a nice sharp line which looks a little more professional).

Also wondering if the line of the cloud should be the same color as the red or the blue, and whether the inside of the cloud should be shaded in some way to make the USA Voice & Data lettering stand out better?

Please play with this feedback a little and see what you come up with.

Freetime - Version 3.3
- Much better, and incidentally yes I know you are not allowed to use clip-art - unfortunately that was the only way I could communicate effectively not being a graphic artist myself :weep:.
- Clearly the internal coloring (at least with that light blue) is not helping the Voice & Data pop. Perhaps another color not blue or red based would?
- Also perhaps you could use the red of the blue of the lettering as the cloud outline color? Can we see what that would look like?

Kekepania - Version #10
- Cloud still looks a little "cuddly" and "cotton-wool sheep-like". Needs to be a little more edgy. Perhaps you can work something a little more along the lines of the clip art or what Freetime has come up with?
- Also with 10a I think I prefer the swish sloping down from left to right, it seems to interupt the flow the way it is now.

Freetime & Kekepania
- Aside from the above modifications can you also work a separate concept with the idea of lightning coming from the clouds, perhaps "delivering" the Voice services and Data services?

Not at all keen on the light blue, please strike it from your pallette. Was trying to explain to use the red or the dark blue that you are using for the lettering (as you did for 1A) as the cloud perimeter color and then show what if any other fill colors (not any shade of red or blue) could make the letters pop. Who knows perhaps we will find that the cloud should be white or transparent anyway?

Also can you show the red cloud surround with the all blue lettering and the blue cloud suround with the all red lettering?

I know what you mean about the lightning might make it crowded (especially with your arrow design) but thought we should see nevertheless, as the services being delivered by the cloud is a very powerful metaphor for what is actually happening. Can we just see?

Can you work some 3D/Perspective effect where the words "Voice" and "Data" actually become the top of two lightning bolts coming from within the cloud?

Maybe take the top right design which has all the text in red and the cloud outline in blue as a start point. Expand the cloud so all the words are within the cloud. Then take the red words "Voice" and "Data" as a top surface and extend blue forks of lightning down from the red surface words in a 3D/perspective manner, perhaps with red piping around the lightning bolt down and to illustrate from the red letters as 3D or perhaps not?

I am attaching an appalling :squint: picture to try and illustrate the general idea. Hopefully this helps get the general concept across, but naturally I am sure you will be able to make this infinitely better!!!

OK designers, sorry about the delay in making our decision but my partner and I thought with this being such an important item for our branding we absolutely had to get feedback from a number of our friends and business referral sources on a few of our favorite designs you all submitted.

Anyway while everyone was impressed with a number of the great entries (particularly from Kekepania, Freetime, Giant and Blue Cherry Graphics), when the scores were finally compared, it came down to the wire between Kekepania and Freetime in the end.

Kekepania version #6A just pipped Freetime with version #3.4 1B so we look forward to working with Kekepania to finalize this logo.

** ALL DESIGNERS PLEASE NOTE HOWEVER ** Once our logo is finalized with Kekepania we will be welcoming ALL designers to participate in our follow-on Stationary Package project.
