Hi Bill. Thanks for joining the contest!
Nice work. I like it, but I think something is making it look a bit too cartoony or something. Not sure what it is, or how to describe it. It may be the really long arms and shorter body, but I'm not quite sure. Maybe you can pick it out and make some adjustments.
The hair should shorter. (I think it's her long neck that makes the hair look so long.) Her shorter hair should also look more "fly-away" or "wispy", and less "curled". The hair also seems to be blending too much with her skin color. Can't really where the skin stops and the hair starts.
Also, she should be "presenting" in the other direction. (her left, our right)
Thanks!

OK we're almost there! I'll be closing the contest tomorrow (10/21/03). If anyone has any additional entries, please post by the morning. :D
I've shown both of the entries to my client today.
She said that the first entry from pennyln (Bill) fits her style more. So right now we're definately leaning toward your entry pennyln (Bill).
------------------------------------------------
pennyln (Bill),
Before making a decision, the client has asked for a couple of edits to be made to the image. If we have no additional entries at this time, and you can make the client's requested edits and show them to me, then you'll be the winner! :D
She would like to see:
1) some type of definition between the hair and the face (the colors are so close that it appears that part of her eye is just missing)
2) make the hair a little shorter (Also shorten the neck just a bit, if you find it necessary)
3) also add a beaded necklace to the girls neck
------------------------------------------------
kalvinhobs,
Your entry was also very well received by the client. She just thinks that the style of Bill's illustration fits her website better. We have requests for illustrations like this quite often. I'll see about showing your entry to any other clients that may be interested in the near future. Thanks!
Is this what you are looking for?
