I know .. ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER !! But I know you guys are creative enough to help me out with this one !

What type of product or service do you offer?
Sports, Action Photography

Newly formed

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Give my photography business a professional and custom appearance

What are your long term goals?
To cover my local market and expand to other surrounding towns

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
I would like to have the "short list" narrowed down by July 4th so I can make a decision shortly afterwards

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Primarily sports teams, individuals, and local events .. all ages but focusing on children ( and their parents ) from elementary to high school.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Wil be targeting professional and college teams as well


Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I need a logo that I can use to create marketing and promotional materials with. Additionally, I will need vector versions of the image as well so that I can us the new logo to watermark and "brand" my photos ..


It needs to be fairly simple but something that is eyecatching .. I'm not too crazy about alot of script since I am not going after the portrait or wedding market


Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
My initial thoughts are something with Dark Green or Dark Blue with gold accents to class it up a little, but I am definitely open to "coloring" things up a little if the design is right. I also like gradient patterns as well .. My town's sports teams are primarily Green .. thus the initial though of Green .. you can get a better idea of the actual color at the following website .. http://www.prosper-isd.net/

I have a LOT of P's going on .. so thing may be a challenge coming up with something that isn't to linear

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

Not really I'd like something unique .. since I'll have to look at it the rest of my life !

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Most of my competitors typically just have their name like "John Doe Photography" .. I'd like something that I can make them wonder .. "who is this guy" when they see my work and my marketing materials ..

To all that have submitted ideas, I truly appreciate your thoughts and insites on my request.

So, where is my head right now ?? As of today, the "leader of the pack" is NHR's design .. I liked the "unique" design, and the shadowing that is going on on beneath the P in Photography ..

kekepania .. I liked color scheme .. just wasn't too sure about how that would pan out on watermarking photos and marketing materials ..

Lutfi .. I appreciate you giving it the old college try with the "double P" thing .. I've played with that concept myself and I'd really like to stay away from that one .. just doesn't do much for me

Pracus .. great concept w/ the eagle eye concept .. only negative I have with that idea is that since I am in such a small town .. if I introduced eagles, etc .. it may turn off some of the surrounding towns ... we are pretty fickle down here and I'd rather not upset my friends in the surrounding communities that I work with that are bobcats, raccoons, and panthers

Freetime .. I do like your double P concept .. but am leaning towards NHRs approach , only concern is that Walt Disney doesn't think that we stole the P from their D !!

Once again .. I appreciate everyones hard work on this .. if you have any additional ideas built around NHRs concept I would love to see them ..

Jenn ... thanks for your design ideas for me .. the Star idea is definitely something to think about .. since I'm here in Texas .. may be a HUGE marketing plus .. with the Cowboys and all .. I am still leaning toward the first concept that NHR submitted, pretty unique yet clear .. and I still like the shading concept

Hi Joe,

I missed this earlier, but just a quick note: the designers here don't collaborate on designs, so an original concept introduced by one designer is theirs to develop throughout the life of the project. So the designers can't create "derivative works" :) based on Neb's design.

Due to the open forum, many clients don't realize this, so I just wanted to point this out so you wouldn't think the designers were ignoring your requests.

NHR .. the new "P"s are nice .. I like the way you stacked Prosper Photography vs having it on one line .. now I need to spend a little time looking at the new designs ..

Lutfi .. the ribbon concept is a new twist on things .. maybe folks will start wearing green ribbons and I'll turn that into a marketing idea ..

Giant .. If I were a nature photographer, your design ideas would definitely work .. since I do sports and events, may be a stretch .. but I do appreciate the ideas

skyvee.. I really like your version 1 concept .. not sure where it went .. the second version is very colorful .. just afraid that if I used it on my proofs .. the amount of "darkness" could cover up alot of the image ..

Hi Joe! Sorry had to remove version 1 as it was quite similar in style to one of the designers'.

Would it be possible to come up with another design along the lines of your version 1 ? While the "P" in version 1 could have been viewed as similiar .. I like the gradient scheme in the 'P' along with the "flashing effect" above the P .. gave it the impression there was action .. maybe a flash, etc .. I also liked the text colors in version 1 ( lower left ) .. very eyecatching but with the gradient "p" of the top Version 1 .. would you give it another shot using those ideas ..

NHR .. after doing "market research" .. your first idea ( v1 ) keeps getting the most favorable nods ! The only comment that I have gotten is that it doesn't catch your eye .. possibly because it is a single color, could you try using a little darker green ( say PMS3425U ) and some "gold accents" or lettering ( say in the PMS457 range )

We need to wrap this up in the next week, will you be able to provide your design in both vector and photoshop formats .. Skyvee .. I'm really liking this version .. thanks for jumping on this for me .. I'm going to sleep on it tonight .. but I can't think of much that I'd change .. and thats a good sign !! I like the split "P" .. v2 was a little "fat" in the middle and this version is much cleaner

Why wait .. Skyvee, your version _04 is the one that I'd like to use. I would like to thank all of the other designers .. especially NHR who spent a ton of time on my requests .. this was MUCH harder than I ever imagined .. and the talents of the designers on the Outpost is incredible !
