Welcome/Background

I welcome all designers to my contest. The logo will be for a land and lawn company named Green Bell. The Bell in the name is named after the county where the company is located in. Client base is 70% commercial. The logo will be used on all business materials including vehicles. The vehicles are white. The print paper will be white or cream.

Logo Features

I want the logo to be corporate, compact and with an edge to it. The logo should pop out at you and all parts of the design should be recognizable on paper and on vehicles from a distance. I would like to see the type be an original design and be the main logo's feature, but I'm not opposed to some other trademark feature, just don't use what I mentioned below. The colors I am looking at are green, yellow, white and black, but you can try other colors if you like. Try designs with Green Bell or GreenBell. Also you can add Land & Lawn Co., Company to the logo. I am almost positive that I do not want a "bell" symbol for a logo, but you can take a shot at it if you feel you must.

How to Lose/Win

If you design a typical lawn or landscape logo (trees, a falling leaf, running water, hills and valleys, someone pushing a mower, etc.) you will not win this contest.

If you would like to ask me questions before you start the design please feel free to because I want everyone to have a shot at winning.

Thank you,
Clark

Stephen and Ryan, Thanks for the logos you posted today. This is a great start. I will go into more detail on Sat/Sun.

Pennyln, Raja, Chelle, Eagle, ElKootcho and all the other Outpost supper stars lets see your thoughts on this.

Thanks everyone for the designs.

Stephen - I like the first design the best, but it is it needs something to give it a slight edge. What could that slight edge be?

Ryan - The top and bottom designs are the one that I like from you. If you could make the boxed letters of GB more recognizable and somehow add yellow to the box I think we can improve on that design.

Raja - The bottom works the best for me. Maybe try a slightly different font and anything else you may have up your sleeve.

Mute Design - The designs are just not the image I am looking for. They need to have much less "action" and a more polished look to them.

Kelli - Nice, but the font you are using is not making the logo look different from my competition. Please show me more and maybe add some yellow.

Jon - I need the name to stand out more from the rest of your design. If you could do that and make it look more polished I would like to see it.

Pennyln, Could you remove the rooster from the middle right design and add green foot prints over the yellow? Also add the green foot prints to the bottom right design inside the yellow circle. If you can think of something else to do with that circle please do. BTW the rooster is not my style but it is growing on me. The rooster and the colors you used makes it stand out.

Hello Clark

Here's a concept from me :)

GBCO
10-19-2003, 05:58 PM
Thanks for everyone's effort of my logo. To save time for all I would like to narrow the designs to Ryan and Pennyln and to Stephen and Raja's new design when they post them.

Eagle - could you use different colors? And what is the meaning to that symbol?

Ryan - I still like the top two logo's the best. Could you use a different font in the yellow and green box? The font you are using is not working for me. And could you please outline or do something again to the top logo to make it stand out more.

Thanks again Kelli, Tonya, Mute Design and Jon :)

Hi. This is what I got for you after going over and reading everything you had to say in this thread.
I feel that this logo is pretty contemporary/young looking, yet it's got traditional colors which is very welcoming and calm, and the whole design is succesfully unified as one.

Here are my revisions based on your comments.

I initially tried to come up with a stylized graphic of the underside of a lawnmower
with the blade and bolt assembly. After many failed attempts, I decided to concentrate on the bolt itself. Oddly enough, I see not only the bolt, but a tractor tire as well. I feel the color choices on the top design work best, but obviously it's your call.

Thanks for your patience and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sorry for being late on posting a message. And thanks for all the new designs.

Eagle - On your last post could you show be some different fonts and put it on a solid background like Bill's design.

Bill - Could you show me different ideas on these two designs.

One of the reasons I like Bill's design is his background is not all white.

I think almost everyone is heading in the right direction with my logo. The beer label style is definitely looking good and I think this style of logo will end up winning this contest.

I like the idea of having some kind of object (like Bill's rooster) in my logo so you are welcome to add something like that. It could be a hand holding up the index finger saying Green Bell is # 1 or anything else that has meaning to it. It is OK to try a bell symbol.

Taldo - I like your logo, but the colors you are using is not doing it justice. If you could change the colors for me it would help.

Eagle - You are in the middle if IPA land so could you try the this new style for me?

Stephen - That is a nice design and the colors stand out very well. What could you do with the label style logo?

Bill - Once again your new logo's are at the top. I think it is safe to remove the footprints from this style of logo. I like the middle design and the one next to it on the right.

Tonya - I would like to see a label style from you.

Elkootcho - I like your 02 design. I would like to see the font in Green Bell changed, but the other font is OK.

If all goes well I will post a deadline real soon.

Thanks again, Clark

Thanks again for the new designs.

Elkootcho - Would you show me your last two designs on a business card, letterhead and truck? The trucks we use are below.

Ryan - Would you place your logo on a card, letter and truck?

Bill - Your last design with the bell in it, could you change the yellow to green and green to yellow? Leave the colors in the bell and the green lines above my name the way you have them but outline them with a white line. Make the Land & Lawn Company font bolder.

Tonya, QSDA - Thanks for the effort. For now the other designs are what I'm looking for.

Eagle - You sure can make great labels. I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong business. I think the style that Elkootcho designed makes my name standout more so if you want to tweak one that would be great. The wheat in the bottom design could fit in a land & lawn logo.

Mute - That design makes me laugh every time I look at it. I might hang that one up in my office. Very creative.
