Hi Designers!

I'm looking for a logo that will really get across the style of my photography, with a light, fun flair - if that makes sense. I don't want anything masculine. I tried to take a stab at a logo myself when I couldn't quite get what I wanted, and you can see it and get a feel for my work on my website http://cristaacosta.com. I'm not in love with that design though, and I'd love to see what you guys can come up with. I've added a link to some logos I like at the bottom.

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Crista Acosta Photography
What type of product or service do you offer?
Maternity, Newborn, Children and Family Photography
How long have you been in business?
Less than 1 year
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I'd like people to see my logo as a representation of my work. I want them to think fun, classy, and fresh all at the same time.
What are your long term goals?
Have a successful, and branded photography business.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
July 2nd
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Mainly families with young children, or those expecting little ones.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Possibly high school seniors
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Fresh, inviting. I'd love a design element that can stand alone as a watermark as well. I also would love something that can be used rectangularly as that's what my website space requires and also as a circle for stickers/packaging.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I tend to lean towards blues, greys and whites, but I'm open to any type of jewel tones, or even earthy greens and browns
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Not particularly. I just don't want any cameras.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professional, artistic, creative
What is your tagline or slogan?
n/a
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That this will be a custom experience for them.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, blog, business cards, marketing
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
I have some very talented photographers in my area, and they have interesting logos.
List competitive URLs if possible
I don't feel comfortable doing that on a public forum, but I live in Windsor CT if you really wanted to check them out.

Here is a link to some designs I've admired in the past:
http://mydoodlebugdesigns.blogspot.com/

I specifically love #'s 047 (my absolute favorite), 019, 020, 027, 078, and 086.

Thanks so much, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Just wanted to share a few other designs that I came across that caught my eye for inspiration.

http://www.onthespotstudio.com/gallery.htm

Specifically "Megan Parker" and "Jaime Nettrour".

Of all the designs I've looked at, I think the one I mentioned above as my favorite is still the style I would lean mostly towards, but I'm really open to seeing anything you guys come up with. Thanks!!

Thanks for the design Kekepania. I'd like to see a little stronger font used for my name, though I like the lowercase. Maybe try photography in cursive and perhaps a little more weathered look to it overall?

Thanks! I definitely like the weathered feel of this a little bit better, but I'm not entirely sure that is the route that I want to go. Also, I think the fonts my still be throwing me. I'd love to see any other ideas that you might have.

That one is definitely different, thanks for the play! I'm not quite sure it's the feel I'm going for though.

Hi. The round icon is a combo of your initials "c and a" and could be used alone without the rest of the logo:)

Thanks for the replies!

Taldo- I like the idea of what you have going here, but can you try it with a different font, something a little more feminine, perhaps a bit less modern?

Tina- That's cute, but not really what I'm going for. I'd love to see any other designs you have though, because I really love your work.

Schnickerdoodle- I really like this. Can you give me a few variations on the cursive font for my name?

Not a problem, Here they are...:D
Thanks, Deanna

Deanna, I really like the second one on 1a-c. I'm definitely liking this design a lot.

I'd love to see some other ideas if anyone is interested!

Crista

Deanna- as I look at this again, I'm wondering if you might be able to do a revision with the scroll work a little less ornate, maybe not so busy, but the same idea if that isn't too much trouble. I'd love to see it with the 1st and 2nd fonts from 1a-c.

Here is a more simplified version..
Thanks, Deanna

Thank you! That's what I needed to see.

I can't wait to see what others come up with too.

I've been thinking about logos tonight, and I'd love to see some more ideas incorporating my initials. I know Carol had designed one for me, and I like the concept of it, but I'd love to see some other plays or different ideas.

Thanks so much in advance!

thanks, Carol! Do you think you could maybe incorporate both the C and the A into a box and change the color to something in the blue family?

Taldo
06-30-2008, 04:36 PM
It actually was a combo of "CA"
I'll work on something else..thanks!

Crista
06-30-2008, 04:38 PM
Oh, now that you say that, I see it ... sorry about that!! I don't know design-wise if it would be possible to have the emphasis on the "C" - or even have them "equal"? It's kind of a hard combo, I realize.

Here is a VERY crude idea I had about intial combination. A designer I am not.

Deanna, I really like the idea of this. Do you think maybe you could re-draw the initals in a way that would look more polished? My version was really just a sloppy idea of how to connect the c and the a.

Also, would you mind showing me how it would look with the design to the left of my name as well? Thank you so much for your work! :)

Here is a revision for you....Thanks, Deanna

Crista

You're an angel for putting up with my thousand revisions.

I think I prefer the font of the 2nd logo in 2a-b for my name. Do you think there's a way to use that font (or a version of it) for the "CA" as well? If you think it would look better somehow with uppercased letters, I'd be open to that too.

and with the uppercase CA

Deanna, thank you for the revisions, that's how I was envisioning it!

Tina, I really like v2 - can you show it to me with my name in a cursive font, and maybe some richer/deeper colors? I'm not sure about the green. I think I'm liking the color scheme of Deanna's design, so maybe something along those lines?

tinawood

any of these work?:)

Crista
07-01-2008, 10:56 AM
Thanks Tina! I do like it better with the cursive for my name I think.

I was just browsing fonts on dafont.com, and I'm wondering if you might be able to try it with the following fonts: Dear JoeFour; Castorgate; and Black Jack.

Thanks for all your work!

thank you for the play, Taldo.

Just wanted to make a last call for any new designs, because I'm hoping to make my decision tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for your innovative ideas, I'm so impressed with your skills!

Thank you for those revisions, Tina. I'm liking that first one with the Black Jack font.

OffBeat- I like the concept on v3 here, do you think you could show it to me with my name and initials in a cursive font? Also, there's no "h" in my name. Thanks!

Thanks for the revisions, Offbeat. I like 4A, bit I'm still not convinced it's totally "me". It is maybe just a tad too corporate for the style of my work. I'm wondering if you have some other fonts you can try for the name and initials, and change the colors to some variation of grey and blue or teal?

Tina, I'm really loving these designs, but I've gotten some feedback that most people are seeing the initials part of the logo as a "d" instead of my initials. Is there any other variation of just the logo part that you might have and then I could figure out my font from there?

tina- thanks for redoing that, I like V7 alot.

Offbeat- can you show me #1 in V5 in a few different color combos? I'm thinking slate grey/blue, slate grey/purple, maybe something in the green family too to try?

Thanks Offbeat!

Tina- in V7, the first one, can you just tweak it so that the line part of the "a" is a little more towards the c? It looks a little disconnected right now.

Tina, I was just checking out your logo portfolio, and two that really stood out to me were the ones you did for Angela Wright and Alesha Watts. I love your style, and I just wanted to see if there was anything similiar that you could think of that would work with my name. Thanks!

Thanks Carol, that looks great :) Just for comparison can I see your V4 with those same colors (maybe slightly deeper) and with a different script font for my name?

I'm really getting close here, thank you everyone!!!

Can I just see it with my name in lower case just to make my final decision?
