Hello fellow designers,

Due to workload I'm unable to do this myself tho I will be doing the rest of the package design at some stage.

The name is: Loo Light (I won't go into detail as to what the product is)

The client is after a water splash over the text ‘Loo Light’, the splash must not cover the whole of the text just part of it, and the part which is covered must have the effect of being under water I.e. slightly magnified.

The text must not be to fancy, as for colour (color ;) ) you can leave as black.

You can either do it as a vector or PSD, if PSD please do it in high Res, as this will be for print. I would like to be able to copy the splash and place else where on the package layout.

Now the bad news I need a quick turn around on this I'm saying this Thursday 23rd but might be able to put the client off till Friday 24th, hopefully $90 is enough for you and you know my views on what should be paid to you guy's ;)

I think that's it any questions please let me know.

Cheers

Michael

:furious: Just typed out my reply but I must have hit a few keys together and the page went back to the previous page and just gone forward to my reply and all is lost... :furious:

Here we go again

1st thanks for all your entries so far

Coredesign

Like the texture of the Splash but it needs to be on the text more, the client explained that he imagines the text being on a flat surface and then spilling water onto that text, not all the text will be covered. Maybe one big splash on the text then some small single ones just outside of the text (That really applies to all)

pennyln & Mute Design

Looking good but I know the client will think it 's too cartoony.

Mute Design the flame is not needed not that sort of light ;)

dynagirl

That's the sort of texture I'm after on the splash, the splash just needs to be like pennyln & Mute Design but less complicated.

Too All

The splash needs to be bigger maybe cover from the first 'O' in Loo to the 'G' in Light. Read the comment I gave Coredesign about one big splash and maybe 2 or 3 single ones.

If you have Photoshop then have a play around with some styles, I think the client could be after a realistic water splash (I know this could also done in Illustrator)

The brief from the client was that it has to grab you as the product it self is a little
plain.

*Edit*
Just thought of something else can you all just make the magnified text a little more magnified..cheers

Thanks for you submissions so far.

I was looking at Paint Shop Pro which I never use and came across this effect which I think looks good, its just you can't change the shape.

So if you can get this effect as a splash and then a few of the drops scattered about would go well.

Is this more like the effect you are looking for? We can change the fonts to fit what you are looking for.

Mute Design yes that is what I was looking for.

If I have something like the previous posts but not so cartoony, the effect Dynagirl had on her splash was what I'm after then I also want a more realistic one like the one you have done, these I can show the client and they can decide between the two styles.

Design market yes I have seen something if you want a good tutorial on how to get a water effect have a look Here (http://www.vecpix.com/) under Photoshop and its Water Drops.

Thanks all

Sounds great, Let the client know I can move and re-arange the drops any way they wish. I look forward to seeing what they select.
Thanks

The background blue I used is:

C 50
M 25
Y 0
K 0

I have to say, making water has been quite challenging. I've thoroughly enjoyed it!
