Sample logo contest

It occurred to me that we need to show off your creative talents a bit before we have contest holders lined up at the door. :D

I'm currently working on a site template for a client. The site is called Australian-Sports-Marketing.com. He would like a nice, clean, professional looking logo for this, the flagship site, of his network. I don't think it matters if the logo has the dashes or the dot com in it. Leave them out until further notice.

This is the template that it needs to fit in click here (http://www.morningstarwebdesigns.com/templates/asm/2.png) . The colors need to match what I have up there now...

Green - #006633
Yellow - #F7B738

It needs to have an Australian icon ie Southern cross star constellation or Kangaroo. Other than those two criterion, you have creative free choice on any other elements of the logo.

So this is your chance to show off. Give it your best shot but don't knock yourself out. What I'll do to make it worth your while is give moderation priveledges to the winner and a small cash prize of $30. I know that's low, sorry, It's Christmastime, and I have two young boys to get presents for. :)

I'll let the client choose the winner and I'll get him to post comments about each entry. I'll make the deadline this coming Friday, December 20th at 11pm Eastern Standard time the deadline.

Looks nice Marina :) I'm pretty sure he's set on the colors of green and yellowish orange but he'll let you know. I've told him about the contest and he'll let you know after he registers.

I assume you want my comments here.

1/ Marina - Its not bad. I prefer the green and yellow combination. I would prefer to see a few more combination of font's. (5.5/10)

2/ Dan - Its simple but effective. I quite like it. Could I also see a few combinations with different fonts used.(7/10)

Overall I'm looking for a simple design that has obvious Australian themes.

I have included a score out of 10 as my attempt to let the designers understand where they are compared to their opposition.

Will look forward to seeing a few more different style entries.

3/ Sidefx - I like the fonts used and the colour combination. However, would prefer just one icon and not over complicate with 2. (7/10)

4/ Bishop - As per my comments above re icons. Plus would prefer chunky type font. (5/10)

I edited it now. The deadline is this Friday the 20th at 11pm eastern time. That would be Saturday around 2:00 your time zone.

Michael has told me he is taking a few days off, something about it being real hot in Australia and he wanted to take a vacation :rolleyes: Kind of hard to sympathize with him being here in Ohio with a wind chill of around 10 degrees F. So the deadline has been extended til Sunday evening at 11pm eastern standard time just in case anyone else wanted to enter or you wanted to submit a new version. He has not made a decision yet.

Great work by all.

Its very close between Dan and Demex.

I prefer the more "chunky" fonts. Can you both please play around with the fonts and give me a few alternatives. I prefer a font that is super basic to read.

I like how you incorporate the name www.australian-sports-marketing.com I would like that in verdana font.

Demex I like your choices of kangaroos - can you get them just slightly smaller.

The very last logo - with the basket ball being used as an o - can I see the white highlight replaced with some other colour say black.
