I would actually like to downgrade to babies and children only, so I'd like to stick with just Moms with Children as my audience

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something simple but cute. A ladybug, butterfly, or bumblebee - something of that sort. (No spiders or scary bugs)

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
No colors in particular, just something that matches the possible insect being used

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
I think I'm leaning more towards a ladybug, but I wont know until I see something different

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fun, friendly, and relaxed

What is your tagline or slogan?
I do not have one yet.. still trying to come up with something. Probably something about capturing special moments

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That I'm a fun and friendly child photographer that tries to make you and your children feel as relaxed as possible. That my work is high quality.

Where will your new logo be used?

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
There is really only one competitor in my area worth the quality, the rest are pretty poor quality with text logos. I like Bay Breeze's Photography Logo, but it's just not me. A little too simple for me

Thanks so much for your submissions Kekepania! I'm not really digging the bee, but in Ver1 with the ladybug, do you think that you could possibly make it smaller with the "wings" a bit more round instead? It kinda over powers my name. Feel free to change the location, it doesn't necessarily have to be in the middle like mine is currently.

I would love to see if anyone has any ideas with teddy-bears too. I'm not restricting it just on a ladybug. I'd like something to show that I'm doing child photography only. I do know I like handwritten fonts as well. I hope that helps some of you designers out. I'm really open to anything.

DeAnna, thanks for the revision and the teddy bear submission. The font is a bit better, but can we try to find a font with the C a bit more rounded. In Ver2 can you take out the leaf completely. And in Ver2 & Ver3, can you make Photography a dark gray?

DeAnna - Ver2a looks much better without the leaf. I am still not fond on the font. I think I will need to look up some fonts and show you to give you a better idea of what I'm looking for. Though, I do like it better on Ver3a, so maybe I just don't like it bold. Can I see it non-bolded on Ver2a?

Ver4 I'm not fond of, not to sound bad, but it kinda looks like he's going to the bathroom on my name. :blush:

Ver5, Can I perhaps see the colors of the ladybug reversed with the font of 2b. And also in the colors of maybe maroon and blue?

Ver6, LOVE the swirls of the trail on this one and Ver5. Can I see the red a bit darker and also with the font used in Ver2b? I like the font in Ver2b, and I also like the font in my current logo (the font in Ver2c)

DeAnna - Thank you so much for all of your submissions. The colors in Ver5b_c don't really look good together.. not as I had envisioned in my head. I do like the blue and brown in Ver5 and 5a. 6a and 6b also look really good! :)


I'd love to see what other designers are able to come up with. All of you designers do wonderful work and I'd love to see your take on the logo. :)

I've gotten some wonderful designs. Is anyone else willing to share their ideas? If no one else is interested, I will probably end the due date sooner to Tuesday the 29th. But I would really love to see some other ideas before I make a final decision.

Thank you DeAnna, but I think I prefer the your ladybug in 5a over the others. I think its the pointy tail on the others that I am not liking.

For anyone that would like to make revisions or anyone new that would like to add their concepts, I'm not stuck on a ladybug only. I don't know if I gave that impression in the beginning but I'm a big fan of butterflies, flowers AND ladybugs. All 3 are my weak points. I like simple script fonts and I like basic fonts such as Echelon, and handwritten such as Jayne.. so anything like these fonts I'd love to see.

I've been trying to search around on the boards for things that I do like to give everyone an idea of my style. I love everything that has already been posted for me and here are some other designs that I have seen on this board that I like.

Kekepania - I'd love to see a color variation in Ver4 as the colors chocolate brown and pink are very popular and too common. Maybe even a different style of flower. I really like the idea of Ver4 and if you could work with that concept - or even if you had something different in mind, I'd love to see it.

Plum, I really like Ver1.2 and I keep looking at it and going back and forth of which font I like better, as I think they both look good. I'm thinking that maybe the flower is so big it's overpowering my name?

Zoe - Thanks so much for your contribution! I really like the way you have my name here all on top of each other. Definitely something different from what I've been seeing, and I like that aspect. However, the butterflies look like t's or plus signs, but may look really good if the inside of the butterflies had more color and detail so that they appear more like butterflies.

Zoe - Thanks so much! Ver1.2, There's still something about the butterflies that just aren't working for me. I love the butterfly idea, but I don't think these butterflies work. In Ver2, I like the 2nd one better, but maybe with a different color scheme and the flower more solid and colorful.

Zoe, I like Ver3 over 1.3. Ver3 is very pretty. I'm not really feeling Ver2.1 though.

Plum, Thanks for making the revision in 1.4, it looks better resized a bit. In Ver2, I really do like the butterfly and flower concept, but for some reason the flower just isn't doing it for me in this one.. I think it's the petals that are throwing me off. I also really like the fact that "photography" is multi-colored. :)

Deanna, Ver8 is beautiful. I love the colors and the butterfly is great. Though I think I'd like it with my name all in lowercase with a simpler font. Ver9, I love the colors as well, but I think the yellow is really hard to see on a white background. I'd also maybe like to see the flower in the middle a bit smaller similar to that in the example of Giggles n Grins that I gave :) Ver10, I would definitely go with a different color scheme as I think the current red and green I have now is too Xmas-y, but I can worry about colors later. Though, I think that the ladybug in Ver10 is distracting and takes away from my name, even though I love the ladybug there.

These are all so wonderful and amazing! My decision in the end is going to be very difficult. These ideas are definitely more my style and fit "me". Thanks you guys! I really appreciate it! Keep the ideas rolling, you are all onto something!

Okay, after going back and forth between 2 different designers and 2 different concepts, I believe I have made my final choice. It was a very very tough choice for me!

I was thinking of doing the font of or similar to Aramis in all lower case with a space between my first and last name. The purple color is great, but I was thinking of making the blue of my first name still blue but the color hex #2c707f and to change photography to the light purple and move it over to the left a bit more, probably between the h and the e of heather.

I think with those revisions, that will be it :)
