Hi, my name is Brianne and I am so excited to be here! I originally designed my own logo and completely branded myself...which I have grown out of and need a change.
Here is a link to my work and my current logo...I hope this give some inspiration!
www.briannebrosephotography.com
Here is my current logo:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q59/belder79/logocopy.jpg
I also just bought a new website template and will be switching over once I get the new logo...here is the link to the template I purchased:
I love the logo on the sample site of the template I purchased...vintage and whimsical. Love the light, airy fonts and design...I don't care for bold lines.
I will be customizing the background of the site to go with my logo I receive here.
Thank you all!
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Brianne Brose Photography - I actually often prefer all lowercase
What type of product or service do you offer?
contemporary lifestyle photography- maternity, newborn, baby, children, families
How long have you been in business?
1 year
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
just looking to create a brand identity, refresh and tie more into my style
What are your long term goals?
I want to distinguish myself amongst other photographers and tie in my overall style, both in photography and life.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
7/31
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
my existing audience is middle to upper class families, typically from mid 20's to mid 40's in age.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
anybody interested is custom photography, with a general respect for the art
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
wow, this is a tough one. I am definitely looking to move away from my current modern look in my logo and on to something more vintage. I would like my logo to be representative of my work, which is more of a light, airy, natural vibe. I love shabby chic and textures.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I love my current color...pink, green and chocolate brown. I am willing to see other options, but want chocolate brown in any logo designed for me.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No, not really
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
fresh, funky, fun, contemporary (yet with a vintage twist), custom
What is your tagline or slogan?
don't have one
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
that I am fun, fresh and unique...that I am WORTH investing their money in.
Where will your new logo be used?
website, blog, marketing materials, etc.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
other photographers...they are great!
What sets you apart from your competitors?
I would like to think that my style and my personality set me apart. My work truly represents me as a person and I love that. I love bold colors, yet with a vintage muted tone to it. I love what I do and I think it shows in my work...this is my passion.
***I should note that I do NOT want anything done with my initials...thanks!

Kekepania...wow, you are quick! I actually really like that! I am not sure about the dot stem, as it feels so similar to my logo already, but I love the flower and your choice of colors (tones), as I really struggled coming up with the perfect combo. I would love to see any other ideas you have! Great job so far!
Thank you!

Hey greenidentity...thanks for joining in! Unfortunately, your version 1 does not fit my style. It has really strong lines and just doesn't scream vintage to me. I love whimsical, chic designs and somehow this feels rather stiff. I am not sure how to explain it other than the bold lines of the frame, along with the plain bold font just aren't doing it for me. Thank you though!

Hi:).....a funky flourish:)
brianne
07-27-2008, 10:29 AM
Hey Tini...thanks for joining! I am not sure I love the font (just for the B, I don't like), but I do like that you went for a more weathered vintage look to it, so I do like that aspect of the font. I am not digging the swirls with the flourish, but I think you are onto to something...as you seem to get what I am going for as far as the vintagey look. Oh and can I have my name done in all lowercase with that font, just to see the "b", as I don't like the capital "B" in that one, but love the rest of the letters in that font. I look forward to additional concepts, as I just love your style!
My intentions are to have a brown (light enough to see dark brown font on) textured/weathered/vintage background on my website. So something that will go with this type of background would be ideal. Hopefully some of these links will give you ideas.
Thank you!

Offbeat...thanks for joining! That one really isn't doing it for me, kinda cookie cutter looking and just doesn't speak to me. I am sorry!
Kekepania...thanks again! I love the revisions. I really like v2, but something about it is too perfect, like maybe if the font for my name was a more weathered scripty font, it could tie in the vintage look I am going for (similar to tini's font)? But love the flower and the colors!
And on v3, I like the idea, but maybe if the frame was a more weathered/distressed/vintage look, it would appeal to me more. I would also like to see any other concepts you have besides the flower...thank you!!!!
ETA: the more I look at the flower, the more I wish to see some detail, such as in the flower in the upper left corner of this link: http://www.theshabbyshoppe.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=246
Thanks everyone...I love what you are doing so far and can't wait to see more!
brianne
07-27-2008, 04:28 PM
And just for some more information...sorry about all the details, I just hope it makes your job easier. But I just found these and I LOVE them. I don't really want a round logo, but possibly incorporate some of these ideas?
I especially LOVE the finished product in the bottom right, the top circle showing...obviously with my info (brianne brose photography) in the blue area idea.
Ok, just to clarify...I am loving the circle in the top left corner of the link I posted...I am thinking eliminate the circle portion and what I like is the cream/brown polka dot area with the little frame and buttons on each side. I would rather have maybe a little scrapbooky flower on each side...no button. And I am open to other color options. And I love the weathered look on the polka dot area. I am open to other color combos as well, although the ones pictured are nice too.
So if anyone can give that a go, I would LOVE it! thanks bunches!

Offbeat...thanks for incorporating the elements I asked about, I appreciate it! Something is just missing...not sure what.
Kekepania...ugh, I am not sure. I definitely prefer the flower logo without the frame now that I see it again. And v5, I just don't know. I think it is too bold, the bright stripes and all. I guess I was really hoping for some weathered polka dots or maybe even damask there and not a square frame, as it looks like a business card. I am not sure how to guide you on that one, I am kind of at a loss. I think I am still prefering your v2. I so appreciate all your plays and love everything you do, the last 2 just aren't speaking to me.
Thank you guys so much for your plays and revisions! My ideas seem to be the sucky ones, so maybe you all should just ignore me, LOL.

YAY, Tini! We are getting closer here! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the font, seriously. That is working for me in every way. Thanks for making the "b" lowercase, that really helped me out. And I really like design, but maybe the swirl isn't working for me? I am not sure what to put there in it's place, maybe shrink the center a bit and put some weathered polka dots, so it looks like the center of a flower? I don't know, you are the designer, hopefully you can come up with some alternatives to the swirl.
But really, thank you! This is very much what I am going for and if you have any other ideas along these lines, I would love to see them. Thanks for coming back!
ETA: Can you possibly show me how it would look with the symbol/design on the left side of my name as well, since I think I would need both versions. I think that would require the design itself to be a bit smaller, not so overwhelming. And I can't wait to see what else you come up with for the center...thanks! Oh and I just realized there is stripes in the background of the square (I am on a crappy monitor at work, had to look on a different computer) and I LOVE that!

Oh man Tini, you are good! I love this one too. I am not sure I would make any changes to that one at all, other than to see some other color options? But I love the colors you have used too.
Can I still the revision on v2, with the weathered dots in the center, a bit smaller? I still really like that version too a lot!
Thanks so much for these...very me!

Offbeat...I can't see your design. I am at work and photobucket is blocked here, I am guessing you upload through them. So, I will give you feedback this evening. Thanks again for another contribution!
Tini...THANK YOU!!! Love your revision of v2, much better! I think I am still drawn to v3. I am really loving that one. I have shared these with my other photog friends and a lot of them are saying it is too scrapbooky, but hey, that is what I asked for. I guess I need to go with what feels right for me. If you have any other concepts, I would love to see them. Maybe something other than a flower?

Thanks Tini...can't wait to see what you come up with! I am loving everything so far!
Kekepania...I would love to see some revisions on v5, maybe try different patterns in the outer frame, softer color scheme, distressed and then a clean version. I would like the border to not be so square though, maybe even a thin, swirly frame encasing it? Oh, I am not liking the font you have my name in...but we can work on that, not a big deal at this point.
Thank you guys so much, you rock!

07-28-2008, 05:03 PM
Kekepania...hmmm, that isn't really doing it for me. I am still not liking the stripes and it is a bit too muted. I was just thinking a bit softer colors, but maybe not that soft. I am still not liking that particular frame. I actually liked the inner frame you used on v5 and I liked the idea of the secondary frame with the design inside that (you used stripes, I would like something else in there). I am not sure if I am making any sense?
Offbeat...thanks for v3, I like it better than v2, like the dashing around the edge, gave it some texture. Still not sure it works for me.
Thanks again everyone!

Tini...thank you so much! I actually really like this one too! I am not sure I love the flourish inside the circle, but I definitely don't dislike it. I like the concept in general. Could I see it with the circle to the side of my name again, just to get that visual too. I would use the logo on top of my name for the splashpage, but to the side of my name on my actual website.
After looking at v3 some more, which I am really leaning towards (but also love v4 & v5 now), I am thinking maybe you could add some low opacity cream polka dots to the green petal area, just to give it some texture? I really like the cream dots around the circle frame in v5 and that is what I am thinking would look nice in the green petal area of v3, obviously at a low opacity. If you could give that a go, I would love to see it!
Thanks again for another wonderful concept. You are making this difficult for me!

07-29-2008, 08:31 AM
Thank you, Tini! I love the revision on v3 and I appreciate you showing me the side version of the last one.
While I LOVE everything you are doing for me, I am also getting feedback from friends/photographers and some are saying that my photography has a more "etheral style" to it. They are not feeling that from these options.
I am not sure what this would entail, but I would appreciate some concepts that further convey this idea. My best example would have to be from the site I just purchased, I LOVE this logo so much.
I would like to see a concept similar to this idea, obviously not using a heart. I love the font you are using, so feel free to use that again. But something along the lines of this would be awesome to see. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I am hoping to make a decision soon!

ETA: I looked at your design on my iphone, and from the small image I could see, I actually really like that font, but not digging the flower design. Maybe too upright and girly? But I do like the thin sketchy lines and vintage look.
Tini...I love v8 too, but unfortunately, I am not a butterfly girl at all. I am not sure what else could go there. Would it be possible to try a different object and maybe make the lines a bit more weathered and earthy (sketchy)? But I like what you did with it!

Tini...OMG...I am an idiot. Now that you say, it totally looks like a flower. I think the leaves on the right just said butterfly antenna t me for some reason. I am sorry! Maybe a more sketchy, earthy flower would be more appealing. Don't hate me, LOL.
Thank you!!!

Offbeat...that was so sweet of you to switch from photobucket! My stupid daytime job, ugh. v6 is nice, I like the idea of the sketchy, thin frame...not sure I love the middle portion? Maybe just a different frame of the same sort. Thanks again!

Tini...hmmmm, I do like the sketchiness of it, but I am not a fan of the flower. I liked how the flower in v9 kinda encased my name, if you know what I mean? v10 seems off on it's own and the petals are too pointy for me. I am sure you are getting sick of me now...but believe me, I love your work! Could I see a more sketchy version of a similar flower to v9, doesn't need to be that exact one. And maybe another sketchy object? I am not sure what would be good there though, so that might be tough.
Offbeat...thank you! I like the frame in v8 better!

Tini...thank you for giving it a go, but it doesn't work for me, darn it. I really wanted it to be the one.
I am not sure what could be done differently, other than it doesn't feel very earthy or anything, still really cutesy. Here are some pictures of my daughter that really represent my work and my style in general. I LOVE this brand of clothes and would like something that represent this idea. Feel free to be inspired by my work and the clothes/patterns.

Tini, how on earth did you leave here?! Although I have a very close friend that moved to VA a couple years ago from SD and he loves it (although is into the whole political scene). I LOVE southern CA in general...I couldn't be without my beach!
Thank you so much for working on another concept. I appreciate you more than you know. Oh and if you have kids...you gotta get Matilda Jane clothes, seriously. They are the best, funkiest, most original clothes ever! Make for amazing pictures.
Oh and also, what about using a background of some sort, with a vintage-y design, really muted with my name on top of that? Just a thought.

Tini...I definitely like v12 better than v10 or v11. So I asked some people what they think of when they vintage as it pertains to me and my work...and one through out the idea of a vintage parasol. I took a self portrait, which I of course don't have, with an umbrella and this idea stood out. Not an umbrella per say...not a funky bright one, but like an old fashioned, vintage parasol...with some ruffles or vintage floral of some sort?
Here is a link to some to give you an idea... doesn't have to look umbrellaish (my own word, LOL), like the modern umbrella. More like the vintage wooden parasols (asian like). Maybe even with a cherry blossom on the parasol? Let me find you a link for that!
I still like this idea from my last post too: what about using a background of some sort, with a vintage-y design, really muted with my name on top of that? Just a thought.
ETA: More on the cherry blossom idea...even without a parasol, a cherry blossom branch (done in a sketchy, distressed way) would also be very cool. If you could some how make it coordinate with my name (as you have done with the other flowers). I know this seems odd, but my husband is chinese and I am influenced by him, HAHA.

Hi Tina! Thanks for submitting a concept! I am not really feeling that one so much. Not feeling the branch and I don't want anything done with my initials. I feel so overwhelmed with B's as it is. But thanks for taking the time to do that for me!
Still hoping to see some:
1) vintage parasol ideas, this in place of the flower concept you guys have been doing (excited about this idea), I would like the umbrella to be cute and have a straight handle with the knob at the end, like a parasol, not an umbrella
2) a vintage-y background (distressed and at a low opacity) with my name on top of it
and
3)maybe a go at cherry blossoms.
Thank you guys!!!!!

wow offbeat...you were busy! I think I still prefer v6 from you. And the parasol I wanted to be more like the flower concepts that you guys have been doing (not the opaque background). I mean like a real vintage parasol that looks hand drawn and then has some sort of design on it. Sorry if that was confusing. I was just trying to throw a few ideas out there to get away from the flowers, but I may have made them seem like a combined idea.
Thank you for all your contributions!

I have a question...I PM'd Abby but haven't heard back from her. But am I allowed to choose my designer now and then go from there? Or do I have to pick my logo right now? I would still like to see additional concepts, but know that I want to work with a specific designer at this point. I just don't want to waste anyones time and I am not exactly sure how this works. Thanks for any input!

you are allowed to choose a designer at any time, but if you require additional concepts, then I'd post in message...(example;
I choose the following design X, on the basis of , I would like to see add'tl concepts, and choose from there. If this is ok with said designer, then move this to revisions)(designer then will post y/n, and you procede from there..Thanks:)....

I still want to see the parasol concept from you and possibly the vintage-y opaque background version. I know everything you do works for me and I would love to have you work with me a bit further. Good morning, Tini! Thank you for the cute concept! I think the blue cherry blossoms might be throwing me off, but it seems a bit busy too. Not my fave you have done, but of course, still great!

So my thoughts...add some design to the parasol itself, put it the right, tilted, like it is shading my name...then thin out the handle a bit?
THANK YOU!!!

Ok, I officially love this one. I might have a few minor revisions but before we go there...I am a bit stuck between v6 and vfinal3. I am leaning towards the parasol though!
So, from your professional designer opinion...which do you prefer?! You made this too difficult for me. I seriously want you to tell me which one is cuter. They both totally fit me, so either would be fine!
tini1
07-30-2008, 09:10 AM
to me, the parasol is very frufru girly, and I like it for that reason...
the flower is less girly, the parasol seems to 'fit' your name.......imho;)
brianne
07-30-2008, 09:22 AM
Ok, I totally agree with you...I think it works with my name and my style completely! You did an awesome job! The funny thing is, I am on a crappy monitor at work and I had no idea you had put little flowers on it, I thought they were dots and once I lowered my contrast and tilted my screen, I saw the flowers and fell in love! It is so adorable and so me!
Ok, so for a minor revision...can I see the umbrella on the right? For some reason I pictured it over there, but once I saw it on the left, it looked good there too. But just to be sure...
Also, once I choose...would I be able to get a separate file with just the umbrella to make stickers and such?
Thank you so much for everything! This has been awesome! And a fellow San Diegan, nonetheless.

That's ok...we all forget our left and right somtimes, haha! And honestly, I think your initial idea was better, I do like it better on the left. So, I am not sure if this an option...but is it possible to get a version with the umbrella above my name for my splash page, on the left for my site and then the little umbrella (which is oh-so-cute) by itself? I don't know if I can get it on top too...if not, I will just take the version on the left.
Anyhow, that is my final choice...you rock and I truly love everything you have done for me. Thanks for making this a wonderful experience!
