Greetings designers, thank you in advance for your contributions I can't wait to see what this talented bunch comes up with!

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Brian Palmer Photography<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

What type of product or service do you offer?
Wedding and Event Photography

How long have you been in business?
2 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Attract a broader range of clientele <o:p></o:p>

What are your long-term goals?
My long-term goal is to become a high-end wedding photographer as well as dabbling in commercial photography. <o:p></o:p>

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
August 8th

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Couples from their mid 20’s to their early 30’s

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Would like to attract a similar range extending into mid and upper 30’s, and add different cultures. In addition, I would like to add clients who want a non-traditional wedding, be that one from a different cultural root or some one looking to get away from the norm in a creative sense.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Upscale, bold, not too trendy since they come a go, would like to avoid logos with illustrations/symbols related to wedding (i.e. bride, groom, rings, church,), or photography (camera, film, shutter,).<o:p></o:p>

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
No colors in particular, I’m building my website now and have no preference to the color at this point.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Possibly an icon using the initials “BP” since I will also use the logo/Icon as a watermark on images and on business cards.<o:p></o:p>

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Modern, edgy, and fun.

What is your tagline or slogan?
No tag lines at this point. Would like that my images speak for themselves.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Modern, edgy, high-end photography, Quality. The logo would help intrigue the client while the photography will do the rest.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, Watermark, and Marketing Material.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?<o:p></o:p>
Our competitors are national and local photographers. I like the larger photographers companies logos more than the locals ones. Local ones seem a bit too simple…don’t really catch your attention. I like the creativity of the JC in Jessica Claire logo, would like to see something creative with BP (even though most people first think of a gas station.)

List competitive URLs if possible <o:p></o:p>
http://www.jessicaclaire.net/ (http://www.jessicaclaire.net/)<o:p></o:p>
http://www.melissajill.com/ (http://www.melissajill.com/)<o:p></o:p>

What sets you apart from your competitors?
What sets us apart from our competitors is the way we interact with our clients, style, and the quality of our images. We get personal with clients, so that when we shoot an engagement session it reflects who they. We’re all about getting to know people. Our images stand out from our competition because they are high quality, artistic, taken from different angles, and important detail shots.

<o:p></o:p>
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Modern, Fun, and Spontaneous

<o:p></o:p>
Below you will find my current blog with some samples on it: http://www.brianpalmerphotography.blogspot.com (http://www.brianpalmerphotography.blogspot.com/)

Hey Zoe thanks for the submissions, I like the look of #1 the best not really fond of the shutter in the P. Also I think the illustration is a bit too strong edge for me.

For the text side I think it's too plain, would prefer the "brian palmer" and "photographer" to be different fonts. I do like the spacing on the fonts.

Thanks again, especially for being the first one to toss out ideas.

not feeling the logo in a whole, don't care for the illustration, no real defining lines on it. also not crazy about the color scheme or fonts on it. would like something more creative with the BP.

Thanks

Offbeat,
I Like Version 1, I think the illustration is a bit too abstract. wouldn't like it to be as simple as v2 . Would also like to see a different font on "brian Palmer" I think it run together too much.

Thanks

Thanks to all who have contributed so far, very creative concepts.

Kekepania:
I like where your going with V1 Could I see it with just the "B" and a different color scheme?
V2 I like the colors but would like to see more seperation of the BP on the BW version...since it's B&W it's blending into just a B

xpressions:
Really like the v2 concept, the name seems a little off balanced with the "BP" at least "Brian" a little far to the left maybe a different font will work better for lining up the text in the BP.
V1 I like the text (with the seperation using type and color) and colors but would like to see a different illustration, maybe in a script type?

Thanks again, and keep the work coming. I'll give as much feedback as promptly as possible.

Kekepania: Thanks again for the changes, I think the illustration should go back to the "bp" on v4 the green color looks good. V3 looks better with the separation.

Blue Cherry, love your concept especially V1 & v5, still open to color schemes but like the fonts. 'photography' is a too small on the B&W version I can't make it out well, possibly to make it larger. also not 100 % about how it lines up under PALMER.

Thanks again for the submitts

BPalmerPhoto

Hey OntheSpot - the illustration looks a too much like a camera, and the fonts a bit too plain. could try a more scripted font [cursive]?

Hello Kekepania - thank for reposting! I think v7 looks better with the frame, not 100% on the frame style, but it needs something. V6 looks good with the BP, the fonts on the text isn't really doing much for me. the color is muted to me kind of sits in the background.

Blue Cherry:

Could I see the design in bolder colors, not so pastel, I'm trying to envision this logo on a webpage and thinking of background colors.

....was just sending an update when I saw your post. like the circle enclosing. V8 morethan v9, I like V9 but it's having a problem with the dual shading on the B ...I think withthe back end loop being on solor and the front another it's a little distracting. Could you try filling in the rest of the B with blue and seeing how that looks. Thanks

BlueCherry -

Thanks for posting more versions, that's what I like about this design community.

Like the colors in V10 a lot, the only thing I just noticed is that the illustration font kind of look like bs or b& instead of bp - is there nother font that is not so loopy on the p or any other ideas?

Anyone else have any ideas?

Nice Keke!

Can you add a few more color choices...I'm really feeling this one [V#10] but would like to see it in green, brown [dk tan], red [not fire engine, a little lighter ...to see how the grey and red would mix..]. thanks!

Hey xpressions

That version has potential, just change the spelling of Bryan to Brian. and could you bold palmer (just to see how it looks )

BPalmerPhoto
08-07-2008, 05:12 PM
Xpressions, really feeling v2.2 and v3.0
3.0 is really clever and out side the box, can we clean up the "b" a little [not too much since I like the concept] it's getting a little lost in the mix. help a brother out. :)

2.2 I like this on a lot, but fell the color is a little inbalanced. Can we unbold the palmer [yeah I know darn little changes...] and could I see a few other color mixes ...maybe that brown with a sky blue. ?!?

BPalmerPhoto
08-07-2008, 05:14 PM
Kekepania,

Thank for the new concept, not quite feel it though, sorry. Also thanks for the dark green version. For the bp in the circle I think the dark blue is the best. Any more concepts you can throw my way.

BPalmerPhoto
08-08-2008, 06:08 AM
Kekepania,
to be more specific I guess I'm not feeling the illustration part of the design, it's not working for my in black and white since there is no separation of the BP Could just be the fonts. Thank you for submitting a new concept, that's what I'm looking for seeing idea. Please don't stop. :)

Not quite on 3.1, I having troubles making out the B, looks more like an lower case 'L' I think from the lead in line and solid piece at the top of the character. the 'p' is fine, I don;t know if there is another font that you can use or a way to get the b to be more defined.

BPalmerPhoto
08-08-2008, 07:18 AM
Xpressions:

I think version 3.1 looks better. I was having friends look at the logo prior to the last version and no one had an problem seeing the B ...plus with brian Palmer photo there it's really implied. Sorry for tossing confusion in the mix.

Just a FYI we are coming to the end of the project [two days left], I want to thank all the talented designers who have showed their stuff thus far, been some great submissions. BPalmerPhoto

Hey xpressions: lovin' the concept this and version 2.5 are really working for me. However on this one [4.0] The smaller version (b&W) the B subpar, I don't know if you can work it into a shadow of some sort, or tweak the design a little more on that aspect.

Thanks for the submission!

xpressions : sorry the black and white version is not working out for me, yeah I know it's blk & wht version so it's not possible to see it in any other color. It does however look better than version 4.0. Just feel like it's not translating over well for the b&w version, the color version is good. Any more concepts along these lines?
