Project Summary:
The logo is for a scooter club in San Marcos, TX. The zip code here is 78666, so the club name is 78666 Scoots.
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
The text should include 78666 Scoots. In a playful nod to all the tough motorcycle gangs out there, we downplay the 78 and emphasize the 666 in the name. This can be done by making the 78 smaller, making it subscript, superscript, putting it in parenthesis, etc.
What type of product or service do you offer?
We are a social club and we have organized rides and group activities. We also try to promote scooters and other alternate forms of transportation to the city of San Marcos.
How long have you been in business?
This is a new club.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
This is merely to help with branding. The logo will go on business cards, flyers, websites, stickers, patches, shirts, etc.
What are your long term goals?
Our long-term goals are to increase membership and increase participation in events, as well as to raise awareness with the city and promote things like scooter parking, scooter stowage on commuter rail, etc.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
August 11, 2008
Audience Profile:
Our audience is anyone with a scooter. Most of the residents of San Marcos are college-age and the city has a very youthful feel, so our members are young or young at heart.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
More scooter riders and people who might be interested in scooters.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
We would like a light-hearted logo. We want to play up the 666, with a devil, devil horns, fire, whatever, but we want to do so in a fun, cartoonish way. The logo should not be something that you might expect to find a hardcore biker gang using.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I do not have any colors in mind. Because the logo will also be used on members’ scooters, which can be just about any color imaginable, the logo should work very well in monochrome.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
We definitely want to include a scooter. Beyond that, it is wide open. We will need two varieties of the logo. One inside a shield (or an outline of the state of Texas) and one without the shield.
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fun.
What is your tagline or slogan?
We do not have one at this time.
Where will your new logo be used?
Letterhead, T-Shirts, business cards, stickers, website, email signatures
Attached are some logos from PJs Parts as well as an example of a badge from another scooter club. Thanks in advance for the help!
