Project Summary:

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Krysia Photography (upper or lowercase)

What type of product or service do you offer?
I am a photographer specializing in children, babies, maternity and seniors. I do not do wedding photography.

How long have you been in business?
1 year

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I would like my new logo to convey that I am a photographer with a contemporary style. I would also like my logo to match my existing website: www.krysiaphotography.com (http://www.krysiaphotography.com) (not the logo currently on the site, but the overall feel of the site - which is contemporary, IMO).

What are your long term goals?
Long term I hope to be doing the same thing I am currently doing - busy with my photography clients. On the short-term, I will be going on maternity leave sometime in October and hope to rebrand my business entirely.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
August 8, 2008

Audience Profile:
Couples, families, pregnant women, newborns, toddlers, children and seniors.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
I am currently happy with my audience. I do not wish to expand to boudior or wedding photography at the moment. I would prefer to attract more baby/children and less families. (I seem to attract a lot of families and larger crowds at the moment).

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I want the main focus of my logo to be the fonts chosen. I love logos that have the business name in a particular font, and initials in a really fancy scripty font (or even hand drawn). I have also seen several that have initials surrounded by scroll-work or some other detail. I am open to anything, but prefer the main focus be on the written name and initials. Examples of logos I LOVE are: (Note: I do not want to copy any of these logos. I just want to show the scripty-text-based logo designs that I like. I would want something different and uniquely mine. I know these photographers listed below, so we cannot have the same, identical logos.)

http://www.monyeenblack.com/ (http://www.monyeenblack.com/)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

and this thread as well:

Here are logos from designers here that I absolutely LOVE.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I love muted tones, such as a pale aqua, sage green, salmon pink and chocolate. I do not want bright, neon colors whatsoever.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you I am open to any ideas that flow well with my business and business name. I do like birds, branches, leaves - a twiggy type feeling. I am avoiding child-related images/icons (such as candy, umbrellas, kites, etc.). I would want something more classy/mature for the type of clients I want to attract.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
I want my logo to reflect that I am a contemporary, modern-day photographer with a lot of style. I am a positive, fun person and my photography business is the same. I want to spend time getting to know my clients on a one-on-one basis, and hope that they will return as repeat clients. I do not want to appear child-like in my business branding.

What is your tagline or slogan?
Although I don't use it except in a few places, "Contemporary Portraiture"

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
The overall message that I want to send is that I will produce timeless, high-end quality images of my clients and/or their family. Keepsakes to last a lifetime.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, blog, business cards, letterhead, packaging materials.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Although these are not my local competitors, I love these logos from these photographers in business similar to mine
(Note: I do not want to copy any of these logos. I just want to show the scripty-text-based logo designs that I like. I would want something different and uniquely mine. I know these photographers listed below, so we cannot have the same, identical logos.)

Thank you so much for your reply, Offbeat.

I love Version 1 and 2. I am not into Version 3.

What I love about Version 1 the most is the font you used for the "kp" in the box. And it's funny, I never imagined using the "p" as part of the initials when I originally had my logo designs in mind, but I am really liking it.

I love the freeflowy design of Version 2 with the kp at the end, as well.

I love these 2.

I am still looking at the fonts used for Krysia - going back and forth between the 2 of these. I like the font used in photography.

Thank you so much for your concepts!

Ok, in looking at these more in detail, I am really liking the concepts of version 1 and 2 - not so much 3 and 4.

I would love to see more concepts similar to version 1 and 2.

Thanks!!

Thank you so much for your additional designs Offbeat! I really like the layout of this one, as well as your second one a LOT.

Kekepania, Thank you very much for your concept. I like "krysia" being in lower case, I think it looks clean and crisp. There are parts of the scripty "k" that I love and parts I don't love. I love the bottom part that is all scripty and swirly, but I'm not sure about the top part. I looked at it last night, and do like it better today though. I really appreciate you submitting your design! Thank you. It's definitely one I like as well.

As far as a new concept, can I please see some logos with my name and the initial K surrounded by some scrollwork? Maybe some damask work behind the initial K (or KP if that looks better) and my full business name next to it or under it. I would just like to get an idea of how that would look compared to these scripty ones, which I also love.

Thank you so much for your time! I REALLY, really appreciate it.

ETA:

Here are some designs from designers here that are absolutely my style and taste. I love each one of them - even the swirly flower with flying dragonfly on this first one that Tini did. I don't necessarily have to have text only, but if there is an image, I would want it to have a swirly, hand-drawn flow design.

Thank you for your designs Offbeat. I love that chunky little bird. He's PERFECT.

I love the scripty letter of the "K" in version 6, and also how the bird is perched on the "K". However, I love the basic design of version 7 - but would prefer the right side to look less straight and twiggy. Something more scripty/flowy? I am also wondering how it would look on version 7 if "Krysia" were written in a beautiful, scripty font (like in the "kp" in version 1 or the "K" initial in version 6) and maybe with the bird smaller, perched on a letter or wherever appropriate.

I do like the bird designs, in addition to the text designs previously submitted by both you and Kekepania! Thank you!

Kekepania, Can I see some concepts similar to the concept you posted? I like the bottom part of the "k", but not so sure about the middle part of the letter.

I am interested in seeing a few more text-based designs that we initially started with. I really liked Offbeat v5, however, when I compared it with www.monyeenblack.com ~ it is very, very close to her logo. She is a friend of mine, so I can't have a logo that looks that close to hers. I love the concept of the flowy initials surrounding my business name, but don't want it to look too close to the links I have posted for inspiration.

Also, I would love to see some scroll work - either surrounding my initial or the entire business name. I would like to be able to use 1 symbol as part of my watermark (for instance, my initial surrounded by scroll work, or the bird, etc. Something that is just 1 icon/initial, etc. and defines my branding ~ whether it be my initial/scroll work or a bird, etc.) I don't want it to look exactly like any others, however.

Thanks everyone. Please keep the concepts and ideas coming! I really appreciate everyone's time!

ETA:
This was the logo I was using with my full name (I was in the process of changing from Krysia Photography to Christine Gorczyk Photography - but ultimately decided against the business name change). I don't feel it looks right with just Krysia Photography now (not enough words), however, this was the scroll work I had before. Note: I love scroll work. If I found a concept I really loved that involved scroll work, I would want it to incorporate an initial surrounding by scrollwork for my watermark, stickers, stationary, etc.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/KrysiaG/Business%20Logos/CHRISTINEGORCZYKLOGOLayered3Smal-1.jpg

I hope this gives other designers some ideas of what I am looking for.

* Love text only logos with scripty fonts and swirls (would use scripty initial(s) as watermark/sticker, etc.)
* Love scroll work - whether it be scrollwork surrounding just an initial, or the entire business name (but would want an initial w/ scrollwork for watermark)
* For images/icons - I love twigs, branches, birds, leaves - all muted tones (would use icon/image as watermark)

Thank you for your design, Kekepania!

I actually prefer the roughness of the first design you provided. I just wasn't sure about the "k". I do like it.

Is it possible to see some more designs with maybe the "K" in a circle with some scroll work surrounding it? Or the entire name inside an oval and some detailed work around it? I still like the scripty "K", not sure if that will all work.

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your design, Deanna. I REALLY appreciate it!

At first glance, I immediately like the scrollwork with the little detailed flowers on it. Adorable. I am not sure about the K in branches; but the more I stare at it, the more I like the concept of the branches. I am wondering what it would look like if the "K" and the brown scroll work became one? Instead of the K being different than the branches, I wonder if the K (still looking like a branch) could entertwine (sp?) with the scroll work to make out branches. I don't know if that makes any sense at all, nor if it would look right considering the only branches I can think of that are swirly/scrolllike are grape-vines.

Or maybe just keep the brown earthy looking scrollwork with the pink flowers and lose the branch "K" altogether?

I like the fonts you have used in Krysia Photography.

Thank you so much for your concept!

Thanks Deanna,
I like v3 the best. I really like where you are going with the "K" and the little flowers - without the branches.

Would you have time to do a few more concepts using the name same K with flowers (maybe even bigger) and Krysia Photography? Maybe the K with flowers could be bigger - to the left. Maybe with or without the scrollwork. Of the entire logo, I like the colors and the K with flowers the best (not as much the scrollwork).

Thank you so much!

Thank you very much Deanna. I like your v5 much better. I especially like the dot over the "i" that is a flower. Adorable. I love the shade of pink. I'm thinking the brown could be more brown & less green. But overall, I like it! Thank you very much for your concepts. I appreciate it!

Deanna,
Are those little flowers in the shape of cherry blossoms? I couldn't tell because they are small.

Part of some of the designs (papers, etc.) I use encompass birds and cherry blossoms, which is why I am asking. I never really thought about the cherry blossoms until I saw your concept.

Would there be any way to make the K more scripty and larger and still use those little flowers? (a different font used for the K?) I like the little flower over the "i" and the concept with the flowers and intitials.

Thank you so much!:flowers:

Thanks Tini. I like it. I think it's adorable. But I am really preferring version 1 better now that I see both together. :)

And I know I said "no" revisions to that one, but I had a few things I thought of after looking at it longer:

Specifically the pink/brown one:

1. Can the brown dots be lightened in color, so as not to be the same shade as my name. (or would this be a bad idea, in your opinion, to add another color?

2. Could photography be darker, so as to stand out just a tad more?

3. I am thinking maybe if the flower were just a tad smaller. Not a lot smaller, but just a tad.

And lastly, a question - will it be possible to get the entire flower by itself for stickers, watermark, etc.? The flower without my name cutting into the left part. I wasn't sure about that part (for packaging/watermarking).

Question for anyone:

If I choose a designer now, does that mean the revision I would be working on has to be one of these posted previously? There is one logo that is sticking out to me in particular now, however, does that mean I am locked into that logo in particular?

Thanks!

I am ready to move to Revisions. I am choosing Tini for my designer.

Offbeat, I really liked some of the designs you provided. I really tossed about the bird one, but in the end, decided to stay away from it and go with something more universal. But even more, I loved the "kp" design you did with the fancy font work, but it ended up being too close to a good friend of mine's logo.

BlueCherry, I really LOVED yours scrollwork on the "K" and this one was my second choice.

I had a REALLY hard time deciding on this one.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.

KrysiaG

Tini, before we go ahead and finalize on this floral design, is there ANY way you can provide 1 more concept with just fonts. I want to be sure in my heart that this is the one for me before going with it FOR SURE.

I initially came here thinking I would go with a very fancy "scripty" "k" and then my business name, but I am in love with this flower as well.

If you do not have the time, I understand. I just wanted to see your take on it. Regardless, I am going with you as my designer.

I tried going thru dafont.com and found these fonts maybe (but they would need additional work to make them scrolly).
freebooter script
tagettsPL.ttf
Chopin Script

If you don't have time, I understand - I just wanted to get one text only concept from you before finalizing 100% if you don't mind. :)

Thank you Tini!

You will laugh but I actually like them both. I like the cleanness of this text only one you did, and I love the flower. I'm probably going to go with the flower, but I am really loving this text one, too. I kinda wish the "K" were more scripty/loopy - but imagine that would take away from the cleanness that I like about it.

Give me an hour or so to look at this one. :)

tini1

I can make it more loopy;) (just let me know) It isn't a font, I drew it..:)

KrysiaG

Yes, please make it more loopy. I like how "Krysia Photography" is clean underneath, but would like it to be more loopy, scripty, scrolly - etc.
