I am starting a wedding planning business focused on eco-friendly elements. The name is little green weddings. The logo I picture is the name in all lower case letters in a classic traditional type font (ie: times new roman, garamond, georgia) that "look" but not necessarily a common font like the ones mentioned. In between "green" and "weddings" a tree illustration. Perhaps the trunk of the tree feeds into the words in the logo, the tree is a full grown tree with maybe a retro type of look...maybe spirals in the branches/leaves. And I would ideally like two small birds in the tree. No sharp angles, more flowing lines in the tree....that's not to much to ask, is it?
thanks in advance...

I used the concept you mentioned of the swirly tree with birds, but made the branches into a heart.

Hi there!
could I see a different font for the word weddings and different greens a little bit brighter, just for options...

also I would like the birds to be together, right now they are looking away from each other.

I would like to see birds that are less angular, even though these are cute and whimsical, they seem too sharp. what about a swallow? not sure if that will translate unless it is flying though.

could I see the writing a few sizes smaller also.

thanks!

I would like the words to be in all lower case and could I see them all in a row--not on two different lines--just because that is how I have been picturing it and would like to see what that looks like.

Colors should be more vibrant--not chocolate brown and kelly green, but somewhere in the middle between those and what are shown in this design. The colors in the design are seem too muted to me.

The birds look a bit Halloween-ish...I am picturing something more whimsical and soft, curving lines is what I had in mind, I like them next to each other though. I really like the images of swallows, but I don't know how they would look on the branches vs in flight.

thanks!

Hi Deanna,
I am still not set on the birds or the "weddings" font. although after seeing the smaller font you did in the first revision, I think I like the original size better.

I like the birds near each other, but don't like the birds on the revision as much as the original birds...but still don't think those are "the" birds. I will look for birds and see I can find some examples of what might work. Also what do you think of having two trunks that merge into the main upper portion of the tree design (which I LOVE)?

thanks,
Dana

I like the idea of this one...with the one bird in the tree and the other flying in with the forked tail like a swallow
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/animals/birds/5004257-floral-background-illustration.php?id=5004257

or this one...just the bird

I like the flying bird (top) and bottom bird in this one (middle bird's head seems too big)

Ok, I like these birds better, but I don't think they look good in the all black logo. And they seem a bit too happy! maybe something with closed beaks (I know one of the links I sent you was so similar to the ones you did--sorry for switching it up on you again--they just don't fit like this with the tree)

I am still unsure if I like both near each other on a branch or one in the air and one on a branch-- when we settle on "the" bird I will have a better sense of which way will work better.

Also I really think I would like to see two tree trunks that come together and form the top of the tree--with that we may not need the birds at all. I want there to be something that represents the couple coming together--the two trunks could work and then the two birds may seem like overkill....

still not liking any of the "weddings" fonts--thanks for all the varieties! My favorite so far is the original script--although I don't want that to be it, or maybe the weddings that matches the font of the "little green" but it doesn't look right so much smaller....

Hope that isn't too much feedback all at once!

moxieproject
08-09-2008, 08:59 AM
could you try some or all of these fonts for "weddings"?

harrington (in italic)
footlight MT Light (in italic)
high tower text
lucida calligraphy
lucida handwriting

moxieproject

what about keeping the latest birds with the "happy beaks" and doing the reverse on the black and white version....so the birds are white and their wings are black instead of the opposite as it is now.

hope this isnt' TOO much feedback! I am going to be gone until late tonight, so I promise that is it for today on the feedback!
Thanks!!

Deanna!
I love both of these fonts for "weddings". Still deciding which one I like better!
The two trunks is not working for me...what about having it start with one trunk, but it branches into two near the bottom of the trunk?

I like the birds with the straight beaks and in the white with black wings...

I found another bird and I have an image of a trunk with the branches splitting. The overall image isn't what I am going for, but you will get the idea of what I am talking about.

Since I can't attach photos here, I am going to email them to you at your studio email from the link above, so please check there.
Thanks!!!

I just sent the images to your private email. I like the wider trunk, but dont' like the split or the roots (they look like frog feet to me!)
The one image is of a tree with the wider trunk and the split as I am imagining it. The other is of a different type of bird. I just would like to see it. I like these birds a lot, but want to see the other ones and then I can finalize the birds....can you try them on the left side of the tree? I am still not settled on the weddings font either. I like several of them, but I don't feel like I have the right combination yet....thoughts on that--other options? I would welcome them.
thanks for everything!!

Deanna! I love the layout on version 10! that is the answer to the weddings font!! It looks great with the "weddings" spaced out. I like the tree trunk, but I think it needs to be taller--it seems out of proportion to the top of the tree--I am still kind of going back and forth between whether it would be better to go back to the original tree or to use this one with a taller trunk! I definietly like the birds on the left better than on the right, and I am leaning towards the original birds vs the new birds. If you use the original tree or the new tree with a taller trunk I am afraid it will make the whole logo too big, but if you try it and it looks good I would love to see it. What about trying it with the layout of the words in version 10 and putting either version of the tree to the left of "lgw" or to the right of "lgw"?
thanks!

Ok, I like the braided trunk tree, but could you try to smooth out the left hand side where it seems like there is a little notch taken out of it?
After much deliberation I still like the original lay out with the word little then the tree (the braided one with the birds on the left) then the word green and the word weddings off to the right under the word green. the problem is that I still am not set on a font for the word weddings. I started looking on fonts.com and came up with these fonts:
Monotype corsiva
Aesop Package
Amadeo Bold Package
SG Amalthea SB Medium

but I would welcome your suggestions. I want it to be a caligraphy/italic type font, but not to curvy or ornate....let me know what you think.....

Love the tree (except version 18 seems to be the shorter trunk again, but all of the others look PERFECT!!) love the birds! love the little green! still not settled on the font!!! I like version 15 and 18 fonts the best...I wish the letters were connected though. 15 almost looks like the letters are too far apart. I have been on vacation...just getting back tomorrow and I can look at more fonts and see if I can find something else that I like...in the meantime feel free to give me more fonts if you have suggestions...thank you...I think we are almost there :)

Great! Actually the blue is a shade up but for the birds it is toned down to match the exact color of the other one... So you still have only 3 colors in the logo.... The font is Cancellaresca.....
