Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet

Project Summary:

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

Millionaire Mom Network ™

What type of product or service do you offer?
We are an online based business that provides information to entrepreneurial moms in order to turbo charge their success.

How long have you been in business? 2008

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
To project an image that is both welcoming, fun and trustworthy.

What are your long term goals? To have the world’s largest entrepreneurial mom site.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? Sunday, August 10, 2008

Audience Profile:

Please describe your existing audience
Mom entrepreneurs. These are busy and productive women. They don’t have the luxury of wasting time. They are focused on creating the lifestyle they desire-family, work, etc.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
A feeling of community and a sense that when they have questions they can come to us for answers.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:

What type of logo would you like?
I would like the logo to be joyful, inclusive and uplifting. Many times you see a woman lugging a kid and a briefcase and it doesn’t look like much fun. These women are choosing this lifestyle. It should be positive, fun, projecting an image that its enjoyable to control your destiny. I don’t want it to project “overwhelm” with too many balls in the air---another common image. It needs to include all ethnicities.

My thought is to have a cartoonish type logo. I am not set on that though. If we did go that direction then I was thinking perhaps use an unusual color for the characters “skin” in order to promote diversity.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I don’t really. Of course, it’s a site about making money so green is a natural fit. Vibrant and eye catching. I was think

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
A network of moms rather than just one mom. A sense of growth would be good. These are women constantly learning and growing.

Communication Strategy:

What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That we are the website that they should choose to spend their time at. That we are here to serve them in a friendly, intelligent way.

What is your tagline or slogan?
“The Art of Raising a Business and a Family At the Same Time”.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That you can get great information at this site to help you balance work and family. One of our features is interviews with Millionaire Moms. The audience can be mentored by ultra successful women. We are supportive of our community.

Where will your new logo be used?
Business cards, promo items, perhaps T-shirts? Letter head

Competitive Positioning:

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Millionaire Mommy
Millionaire Moms Club
Moms Making A Million

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Don’t really want to answer that if this is going to be a public profile. Designers may email me for specifics.

Targeted Message:

State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Millionaire Moms Network is the place for like-minded mompreneurs to grow businesses, families and friendships.

Thanks for posting! I like your concept. Mom should be plural "moms" in millionaire moms network.com. Can you play around with the colors? I'd like to see other versions. I'm not in love with the lighter color. I'm afraid it might fade into the background too much.

Joyce1

I don't like the blue version. I like the use of several colors from the first one...just not the yellow "mom" word or catch phrase. I also like the squiggle lines indicating broadcasting/networking. Can you try to incorporate that for giggles? We can see what it looks like. It may be too busy but you never know until you try, right?! By the way, I looked at your portfolio. You do nice work!

:blush:thank you:)

Here is a deeper orangish red.......made the tagline bolder

also like the squiggle lines indicating broadcasting/networking. Can you try to incorporate that for giggles? We can see what it looks like.
I don't understand, you mean flip it so they look like smiles?

Hey Tini1,

I meant incorporate the squiggles from your second version of the logo into the first version of the logo. Also, on the colors...can you visit www.darynkagan.com? I like the richness of those colors (red and orange). The current ones seem too cotton candyesque (I made that word up. lol). Maybe use red for the wording and jewel tones for the circle people. This logo is being directed at successful (or want to be successful) entrepreneurial moms.

tini1
08-13-2008, 02:12 PM
:)less candyesque....I added some shiny to the icon(giving it a 'polished' look)

Joyce1
08-13-2008, 02:52 PM
Hmm. Let's abandon yellow. Let's stick with a vibrant red millionaire moms network and try jewel tone green, blue, orange circular people. I like that being multi colored because it denotes diversity. We welcome all moms. I'm not sure what "moms" should be? black, green (too christmasy?), indigo, violet. Maybe try "moms" in red and use a different color? I'm not sure yet. What about black millionaire and network with violet. Heck, I don't know. Can you play around with it?

Joyce1
08-13-2008, 02:53 PM
Maybe orange/yellow might work for one of the circular people?

Hi! Thanks for participating! I appreciate it. Its interesting but I'm not sure it captures the essence of the site. I like the futuristic look but it needs to be more emotional if that makes sense? Its all about entrepreneurial moms connecting with other entrepreneurial moms. We educate, support and empower. Hope that helps! Can't wait to see your update!

Hi!
I think we are much closer now. Can you make the words
"millionaire" and "network" green and leave "moms" and "the art of raising a business and a family at the same time" blue?
And while we are at it....do the same except only have the word "moms" in blue and all the other writing in green. It will be interesting
to see what that looks like.

Tini1,

I replied to you first and then replied to the other two efforts presented. It occurred to me that might be confusing? I wanted to make sure you knew I liked where you were going with the logo. I just want to adjust the colors a bit. Please see earlier reply for color changes. Thanks!

Hi!
I like the first version with the blue moms and catch phrase. One last color comparsion I'd like to see. I said "jewel tones" and the red now looks like a jewel tone to me (a/k/a cranberry). The other colors look like primary colors. I like them but I am wondering if a true red would be a better fit? I would like to compare the two reds next to each other with the rest of 6a staying the same (green millionaire network and blue moms and catch phrase plus other colors in circular people staying the same).

We are so close!

Hey Tini1!
I polled a few friends on which red they liked better and it was spilt. Please post the red you like better as a graphic artist. I trust your intuition. The only other thing is I believe all the words in the catch phrase should either be captialized or lower case. Its sort of a mixed bag right now. Let's see how it looks both ways (either all upper or all lower caps).

tini1
08-16-2008, 12:53 PM
I like the more primary red...:)

Joyce1
08-16-2008, 01:23 PM
Hi Tini,

I will go with your red choice. I am thinking since the mmn part is lowercase that the catchphrase should be lower case as well. I have one other "experiment" to perform. What would the logo look like if the first letter in each word was capitalized? MillionaireMomsNetwork with the catchphrase all caps? Can you leave 9a the way it is and compare it what I just wrote? Thanks! We are really, really close now!

Which do you like better as a graphic artist/

Hi!
Let's go with your pick: 10a. Just put a (TM) in the corner and that will complete the logo! I have two other items I need your help with. I shot a television demo I need the logo for. I need it to read

millionaire moms (c)
the show about raising a family and a business at the same time

The second line needs to fit on one line.

The other thing I was thinking is I'd like to have the logo in this format as well:

millionaire moms (without the network).
the art of raising a business and a family at the same time

because I write a blog called that and it would come in handy.

What is the best way to handle this? I have no problem paying you extra for this. Just let me know.

I do know that I need the logo to be 300 dpi or better.

tini1

Great, I 'll have final version tomorrow...
I will also show you other requested samples......
how does $50 for the extra work/logo variations sound? you can pay through Abby, or when I send files, you can pay me directly trough my paypal........:)

Joyce1
08-17-2008, 02:57 PM
That's sounds great! I will ask Abby which they prefer? I was thinking since its two words instead of three we should do millionaire moms in all green and see how the catchphrases look as all blue or as all green (compare and contrast).

Thanks for the extra steps! I really appreciate it.

tini1
08-18-2008, 05:38 AM
:)here are the variations, I can also include the symbol separate..,,,

Joyce1
08-18-2008, 05:56 AM
Hi Tini,

The first one is complete. Thanks. The newer two...can I see what it looks like with the words "millionaire moms" all in green and the catch phrases in blue please?

Thanks!

tini1
08-18-2008, 06:02 AM

Joyce1

Thanks for the quick response-looks good to me. I am going to circulate for comments and then get back to you.

Joyce1
08-18-2008, 12:25 PM
Ok, I've gone through the analysis. My helpful critics are spilt on upper or lower case (again) so I was going to see if I could get the logos both ways-each all lower case including catch phrase and each one all upper case including catch phrase (for 2a, 2b and 2c). Is this doable?

The only other change is to make "moms" blue instead of green. Everyone said all green was hard to read so let's mix it up.

Joyce1
08-18-2008, 02:02 PM
Darn near perfect. I think I wasn't clear with the capital letters thing. I liked how you had it the first time with the first letter being capitalized in each word and then the rest of the letters in the name "regular" or lower case. Then the catch phrase all caps...like what you did in version 10.b. I am sorry-my bad.

Like this

Millionaire Moms
THE ART OF RAISING A BUSINESS AND A FAMILY AT THE SAME TIME

Millionaire Moms
THE SHOW ABOUT RAISING A BUSINESS AND A FAMILY....

Millionaire Moms Network
THE ART OF RAISING....

Looks good. I am wondering why the tag line looks so small on the last two? The others are readable but the second, third, fourth and fifth versions look extra tini (pun intended;) Can we make those a little more readable and then let's call it complete!

tini1
08-18-2008, 06:51 PM
:)is this better?

Joyce1
08-19-2008, 05:22 AM
Perfect! Thanks Tini. You rock!

Why don't you send me your email address so I can pay you the extra $50? I'll shoot Abby an email to see if I'm square with DO but I don't want to hold up your funds.
I appreciate the extra effort!

So will you send me the links or post them on DO?
