i like the linear look of the first one.. but I like the dodad of the second one! :)

christa bosco
08-11-2008, 06:21 AM
I also wouldn't mind seeing a few different fonts with the second design.

I would also be interested to see a "classy rendition" of a logo.. with a branch like decal incorportated into it.. sort of like this: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=21CD83D7418F02CD66806 A4DFB38CD85.app13-node2?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=12122016&parentid=A_FURN_BEDDING_SPREADS&sortProperties=+product.marketingPriority,-product.startDate&navCount=84&navAction=poppushpushpush&color= but with a more simple flower.

i really like the branch in that one tini1. could we change the font to something more symmetrical and make the branch a little more subdued . like maybe a little more compact?? does that make sense?

christa bosco

onthespot- oooo!! i really like the color version.. although in seeing everyone's logos, I am leaning towards a green instead of the blue. Perhaps we can shrink the flowers a tad? and maybe a smidgen less leafs on the stems? I like the symmetry of your font. is there a font that is similar with the symmetrical look but a teeny tiny bit more interesting?

OnTheSpot

Sure. Let me see what I can do!

christa bosco
08-11-2008, 08:50 AM
xpressions- i really like that concept with the branch in the D

tini- thanks for the revision... i'm not sure that i am loving the branch here either. i think i like the branch but not for the logo.

how about something like this?

christa bosco
08-11-2008, 09:24 AM
i definitely like that DOLCE font better. :) i think i like the original layout better though.

and one more quick edit on the flowers.. my friend had a nice suggestion.. I am just going to copy and paste it here: I also think there still are too many leafies on the stem. I'd like to see it without the bottom one on the left flower, and then on the middle one take off the part that goes "upward" if that makes any sense.

thank you!! it looks great!

OnTheSpot

thanks for the revision kekapenia!! alhtough I like it alot.. on more careful thought, i think it might not work on the range of work that i do...

christa bosco
08-11-2008, 04:36 PM
onthespot- do you think you could do version 2d with the original lowercase dolce? :)

OnTheSpot
08-11-2008, 04:46 PM
hmm sure. let me find a font that's similar with lowercase letters! the font I used is all uppercase, but I'm sure I can find something!

how do you feel about this font?

christa bosco

OnTheSpot- V.7b looks great, I'm wondering if you could maybe make "la dolce vita" a bit smaller, or would it ruin the balance of the design?

Hi one from me...Since your tagline means "the sweet life" I went for something sweet :D

Thanks,
Deanna

christa bosco
08-12-2008, 11:10 AM
That's a fun design, Deanna! Unfortunately, I think it's a little too busy and perhaps too playful for the realm of work I do.

I like your designs in though, and would love to see if you have something that's a little more upscale, and perhaps totally different from those that have already been presented. Thanks! :)

christa bosco
08-12-2008, 07:55 PM
ok.. after much thought and tons of feedback from people.. i think i am down to the line here. xpressions- i really dig the version 2.4 with the black and grey. my only fear is that it lacks the modern flair of the website that i just bought. is there anyway we can retain the design but add a modern flair???

here is the template i just bought:

http://www.blusites.com/george/

xpressions
08-12-2008, 08:49 PM
I think it's the font that makes it look not so modern. I think 3.0 has a more modern feel to it. Maybe retaining the "d" icon as is and replace the rest of the letter with a more modern font (like above or like george on the site you link to). I will try to see what I can do and post it by tomorrow.

christa bosco
08-12-2008, 09:25 PM
xpressions- thanks

and one last revision onthespot- the biggest piece of feedback i have gotten about the design is that the flowers do not look good in black and white. is there any way to maybe make the flowers in such a way that they have a grey scale to them or some white and not just the inky black?

"dolce photography logo
Hi!!! I wasn't sure if you were checking in on my logo dev. but i was wondering if you could do another mod of you most recent submission in which the decal is to the right of "dolce photography" and smaller? I am reconsidering this particular logo because i feel that it might go nicely with my newly purchased website...

xpressions... i was thinking something more along the lines of the changing the font of dolce (v 2.4).. to something basic like an eras light.. .. and keeping the decal on the l.. and leaving the "la dolce vita" over the ce.. what do you think?

ok. xpressions- i am going to go with the design 2.4.. i like the gray and i love the d. i would like to see ONE more modicatio please. i really like the font used in post 65... my thought was that i would like to see the branch on the d with that font. i like the idea of a "colder font" reaching into the warm freeform. kind of like a winter to spring.. i know that probably doesn't make much sense, but i figure i wanted to try to articulate my thoughts for you.

so... i would like to see that one last design and then i will make the choice between the earlier version and what you come up with.

thank you everyone (especially onthespot!) for your creative input.
