Hi all. Please note that we have moved up the project deadline to October 19th. Thanks!
Hello everyone! Please see our project info below. We look forward to working with you!
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Bliss Weddings (We’d like “Bliss” to be the main focus of the logo and “Weddings” to be secondary.)
What type of product or service do you offer?<o:p></o:p>
Full-service wedding planning and day-of coordination
How long have you been in business?<o:p></o:p>
3 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?<o:p></o:p>
We would like to create a more sophisticated, polished, and professional image. Our existing logo can be viewed on our website: www.blissweddingsllc.com (http://www.blissweddingsllc.com/). We are interested in seeing logo concepts that are similar to our existing design, as well as new ideas. Please note that our site is being redesigned, so please do not take the site design into consideration when creating the logo concepts.
What are your long term goals?
We currently operate our business part-time and would like to move to full-time within the next few years.<o:p></o:p>
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?<o:p></o:p>
October 31st
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience<o:p></o:p>
Engaged couples throughout <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Connecticut</st1:State></st1:place>
Who would you like to add to your audience?<o:p></o:p>
We would like to increase our audience and book more events.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?<o:p></o:p>
We are leaning toward a text-only logo, but are open to subtle icons or graphic elements. We would like the font to be somewhat quirky/fun, but also professional and “blissful.” We prefer clean, simple, uncluttered logos and we don’t want anything too formal looking or classically “wedding” (heavy script fonts, swans, doves, hearts, interlocking rings, etc.).
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)<o:p></o:p>
We have been using a dark gray and are happy with this. We are open to incorporating our signature colors of blue (PMS 278) and orange (PMS 163) as accents, but would like the dominant color in the logo to remain a gray/pewter color.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?<o:p></o:p>
We would like to see a stylized treatment for the two s’s in “Bliss." Currently, the s's have a curly look to them and we like this, but we are open to other subtle icons/graphic elements. Also, we prefer that the word “Bliss” be in all lowercase.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?<o:p></o:p>
That we are knowledgeable and professional, but also friendly and down-to-earth<o:p></o:p>
What is your tagline or slogan?<o:p></o:p>
From “I will” to “I do” (We would like to see a version of the logo that incorporates the tagline.)
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?<o:p></o:p>
We want to help couples tackle the task of planning and managing an event so that the experience is completely enjoyable for them from start to finish.<o:p></o:p>
Where will your new logo be used?<o:p></o:p>
Website and marketing materials
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?<o:p></o:p>
None of our competitors have the type of logo we are interested in.
List competitive URLs if possible<o:p></o:p>
www.sixpenceevents.com (http://www.sixpenceevents.com/)<o:p></o:p>
www.detailsweddings.com (http://www.detailsweddings.com/)<o:p></o:p>
www.eventjubilee.com (http://www.eventjubilee.com/)<o:p></o:p>
www.findambiance.com (http://www.findambiance.com/)<o:p></o:p>
What sets you apart from your competitors?<o:p></o:p>
Our approach is based entirely on what we learned through our own experiences as brides and we plan and manage events from the perspective of the couple.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:<o:p></o:p>

Hi Bruno. Thank you for your submission. We are not crazy about the way the s’s look in the first version – we feel that they don’t look enough like s’s. The second is better, although we don’t really want to use “ss” as an icon. We’d prefer to keep the ‘s’ treatment as part of the word “bliss.”
We would love to see some different ideas from other designers as well.
Thanks!

Thanks for your submission, glyphica. This is closer to what we had in mind, although still not quite there. We do like the font that you used, but we would like to keep the 'b' as lowercase.
We are hoping to find a way to make "bliss" and "weddings" relate to each other in a unique way, rather than just stacking them on top of each other. In our original logo, we extended the s's down a bit so that we could nestle the word "weddings" next to them, but we are open to other ideas.
Thanks for participating! I have admired "Kekepania's" work in other projects. :)

Hi Offbeat. Thanks for your submissions! We really like the font you used in version 3.
We actually had another idea that we would love if you (or other designers) could try to incorporate. Basically, we want the 'g' in 'weddings' to resemble two wedding bands - smaller engagement ring on top, larger wedding band on bottom. In the mock-up, we used Avenir for the font and then played around with the ring element so that it "matched."
We would love if the rings could have kind of a retro look, so we are open to other fonts/styles for the rings as well, as long as it is clear that they are rings. We would also like to add some "sparkle" coming off of the diamond.
We would still like 'bliss' to be larger than 'weddings,' maybe centered over the top and in a different, more scripty font.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Here is an image of the mock-up we created:

I know you said no interlocking rings, but it helps them read better as rings. Thanks!

Hi Offbeat. We are really liking version 5! We would like to see a few changes:
1.We like what you did with the interlocking rings, but can we make them more centered vertically over one another?
2. Can you make the diamond look more like the one in the mock-up we posted, except instead of a white diamond with black outlines, can you make it blue with white outlines? (see new mock-up attached)
3. We like that you made the diamond sparkle, but can we see something more subtle? (see new mock-up attached)
4. Can we see 'bliss' centered over top of 'weddings' so that they are the same width?
5. Can we see a couple other font options for 'bliss'? We do like the one you used, but would like to see some other ideas if you have any other fonts in mind. We like casual script fonts.
6. Can we see 'bliss' and 'weddings' in the same color gray?
Thanks so much! We love what you have done so far!

Thanks Offbeat! This is getting much closer. Can we see the diamond a bit larger and the sparkle a bit smaller? Also, we found a font that we like in another design project (see attached image), but we're not sure what it is or how it would look with 'bliss.'
We really appreciate all of your hard work so far!
If any other designers out there have other ideas for variations on our ring concept, we would be open to seeing them as well.
Thanks everyone!

I believe that's the font from post 8 and 9 which I can't use since it's been used by another designer in the thread. I'll put together some other options.

Thank you for the revisions Offbeat. The 'g' looks perfect! We are still not crazy about any of the alternate fonts. Are there any others that look similar to the first one?
As a note to all designers, we would like to move the project deadline up to October 19th.
Thanks everyone!

Offbeat, thank you for the font options. We are still liking the first one best. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase for fonts, but if you happen to come across any others that you think would work well, feel free to post them.
We are going to keep the contest open for the remainder of the week and will be choosing a designer this weekend.

Hello again, designers. We've done some poking around on the internet and we really like the font Mary Helen, except we feel that the 'b' gets a little lost next to the 'l'. If there are any similar fonts, or any way to make the 'b' more significant, we would love to see that font incorporated.
Sorry, I know we are nit-picking here, but such is the way of wedding planners.
Thanks!

Are you still set on having the initial "B" in lowercase?

Hi Offbeat. We do prefer the 'b' to be lowercase, but we wouldn't completely rule out an uppercase 'B' if we liked the way it looked.
We found another font that we like called Clarissa. Would it be possible to combine the two and use the 'bl' from Clarissa and the 'iss' from Mary Helen?
Thanks!

Offbeat, thank you for making that revision so quickly! We do like the combination of the two fonts, however we realized that if we combine fonts, we'll have to choose one or the other if we want to use the logo font elsewhere in our marketing materials (otherwise it will get labor intensive to keep combining!), so we're reconsidering that idea.

Upfront, thank you for your submission. That is an interesting concept and one that we hadn't considered. We would prefer to keep the ring element as part of the 'g', but we do like the way you added the "shine" to the rings. If you have any other ideas, we'd love to see them!

Thanks, Offbeat! You are quick! After seeing both options, we prefer the version where the bottom ring is larger.
Could we also see a revision to the gray color on version 7A? It is looking like it has a bit of a bluish tint to it.
Thank you!

Offbeat, we prefer the Avenir font for the tagline, thanks! Your design is one of our top choices!
Upfront, thank you for the revised submission. It's still not quite what we had in mind. We prefer the text to be all lowercase, and we don't really care for the font that was used. We were thinking more along the lines of a script font.

Hi Upfront. That is closer to what we had in mind. We prefer "weddings" to be in gray as well, and we feel that there is a bit too much sparkle around the diamond. Still not really a big fan of the font. Do you have any other suggestions for fonts?

Thanks for that other version Offbeat. We are going to consider it in our final selection.
Upfront, we prefer the font in version 4. Can we also see a couple of variations with the tagline: one with the word 'to' inside the bottom ring (and "I do" after it) and then another with the word "I do" inside the bottom ring? Not sure if this will fit well, it was just an idea we had.
Since only a few designers have entered the project and we have seen some designs that we really like, we are most likely going to be making our final decision some time tomorrow.
Thanks to all!

Hello designers. We have come to a decision and we would like to declare Offbeat's version 15B the winner! Thank you to everyone who submitted concepts. We appreciate all of your hard work!
Offbeat, we love the design and we're excited to move forward with a few minor revisions. Also, we'd like to have a version without the tagline as well. Is that allowed or is that considered a second design? Please let us know the next steps.
Thanks so much!

Great! In the non-tagline version, we would like to see a little more space between the 'n' and 'g' in "weddings" so that there is roughly an equal amount of space between all of the letters. Also, can we see the diamond rotated ever so slightly to the right? It looks like if the ring were to sit upright, the diamond would be a bit crooked on the band.
In the tagline version, can we see the tagline a bit smaller and shifted down a little?
Thanks!!

Thanks, Offbeat. The letter spacing looks good. I think the diamond went back to the small version somewhere along the line - can we see it just a bit bigger? Also, is there a way for you to post a close-up of the diamond? For some reason it doesn't look as crisp as the letters, but that may just be the way it's coming through on my screen. I'd like to see the detail of it up close though, if possible.
Can you also try moving "bliss" up just a tiny bit so it's not so close to the top of the d's?
Thanks!
