I'm Morrhigan, or Paige if you prefer using a real name. I applied about a week ago to join the team and haven't heard back yet, but thought I'd go ahead and register for the forums.

I don't know, but I think : no ( I've seen reply of Palmer some months ago ) But someone from admins or mods will reply you.

Hi and welcome, Palmer (Founder and almighty) get's several applications a week unfortunately denial letters are never sent, just invitations.

Thanks for the welcome, and for the info. I found that other thread you mentioned, and they seem to be saying that they've got all the designers they need right now and aren't taking any new ones. Or, hardly any. Wah. I have to admit I'm kind of surprised - looking through the contest forums, I saw that some of them only had one or two bidders.

Oh, well - it still looks like a good place to hang out and learn. Thanks again for saying hello. :)

That would be because either the contest just started, it is a template contest or it is a request for a specific design like something done in Flash.

We need quality template designers, illustrators, and Flash specialists right now.

I've done a fair amount of illustration both by hand and with Photoshop, but didn't put it up on my web site because it was for fanzines. The "Art" section of my portfolio gives an idea of my style. It sounds as though I should polish my line-art skills and add some of that sort of thing to my portfolio, too.

Regarding templates... I've done a little web design, but it usually involves me making a mock-up and supplying the graphics for someone else to do the html code. There are two web sites I've done all on my own (one of them is the Portfolio linked above), and that was using Microsoft HomePage. Maybe I'll research templates and see if I can't become proficient at them.
