It seems to me as if the designer's badge has gone through some change...
I am wondering if it is for the better or best.

I am sure this is something that is already being addressed by the team at DO, but I thought I would add my tuppence worth anyways, because I couldn't find where else to say so.

In my opinion the current badge is very much over done, too metal and too one style to be representative.

It would be my preferance to see a very much less designed label, that clearly speaks as to status than anything that tried to possibly impact on any individual designer that was not representative of the diverse talent here.

Simple is best in my view... what you say?

It was simple and subtle before and we still had people entering contests that were not permitted to. I asked the designers to come up with an idea to make it stand out more that the people entering the contests had some kind of special privlege to do so. I think (or hope) that the new badges will make it obvious.

I hope Mark isn't offended by your comments. Personally myself and the designers gave it very high praise as it was being developed in the private forum. I'm very proud of mine.

Oh.. hey hey.. I most certainly hope that my comments don't upset anyone at all.. :help:

Sorry, I missed the other thread,, and YES they certainly meet the objective of standing out.

It is a pain, I can see, when unauthorised folks try to enter competitions etc.. and the new badges really do set one straight...

I guess my opinion is to do with my perceptions as a non-design member.. a contest holder and how I view things.. that's all.

As I stated in the other post, I thought the new designs were good but I preferred the original, more subtle logos.

Now I understand the reasons behind the change, I can look at them completely differently and they definitely do the job better, and still look smart ;)

Forgive you? forgive you? :crying: After all the blood & sweat I went through??? Where's that rope??? I'm hanging myself now!!! :rip:

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Just kidding!!! :lol2: There's nothing to forgive. You did nothing wrong. :) I've been in this business way too long to let a little comment get to me. If I was to get offended every time someone criticized a logo I've created, I would've left this business a long time ago. Actually I prefer if someone said something then not say anything at all. :) Besides... I'll put the blame on Eagle... he's the one that suggested I make them more glitzy!!! Just kid'n Eagle, it was a group effort, and whether I did them or not, I think they came out well.
