Hi, my name is Darcie and I am in the process of starting up a Professional Organizing business called A Perfect Sort. I look forward to working with you!

Project Summary:

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

A Perfect Sort

What type of product or service do you offer?

Professional Organizing - homes, garages, closets, etc. as well as helping with downsizing for moves. I will assist the client to purge and sort their items, and then design a system for them to keep things in order. I would be working with paper systems, small offices, bedrooms, etc.

How long have you been in business?

I am just starting, and hope to be up and running in the early part of the new year.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?

I hope to brand myself and set myself apart from other PO's in the area with a smart, fresh logo!

What are your long term goals?

To be the most successful PO firm in the area!

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

December 15th

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

My customer base will mostly be families, the odd senior as well, but I would think mostly the 30-50 set, and mostly women.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?

I would like something clean, fresh, and original, that represents what it is I do. I want potential clients to be able to identify the job I will do for them, with the logo itself.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)

I love combinations of colors with chocolate brown/deep brown. A light olive or blue (but not "baby blue!" :D), the right pink might work, but I'm not a fan of yellow, red or purple.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

No, I'm open to specific images, but I would like something that identifies what I do. Which is to both teach and implement organizational strategies to my clients.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?

Organized, efficient, clean.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?

Professionalism and order..

Where will your new logo be used?

The web, business cards, vehicle signage, flyers.

Competitive Positioning:

What sets you apart from your competitors?

My competitors don't advertise anywhere that I have found. I intend to market myself better, and hopefully create a buzz about the profession in general and my personal business.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Life-changing.

Thank you so much for jumping in!

Offbeat Version #1:
What I like about this logo is the shape of the boxes, symbolizing a closet and drawers.

The color scheme, I would rather stick with just two colors as it is less expensive to print.

The font is a little too "thin", though I don't want to go with chunky or cursive, I want a little more weight.

Offbeat Version #2:

This one isn't speaking to me as much as the first. Mostly because I do only most likely want two colors, this would only look good with various colors.

Glyphica Version #1:

The first one I like in terms of colors but the shape isn't representative enough of organization if that makes sense.

As well, while I like the look of the lettering all together, it is too hard to read in the black and white form. I do like the font though.

The second one also isn't calling to me in terms of representation, though I do like that there is an emphasis on Perfect.

Thank you both!

Thank you both!

Glyphica Version #3- I much prefer the font this way, it stands out much better in b&w. The drawers are bothering me in that they're off center with the word perfect. Could I please see the drawers aligned right over the word perfect, and then maybe some other type of door or drawer over each of the other words? Let me know if that makes sense

Offbeat Version #3 - Thank you, I like it much better with the green alone! If I could please see it with a powder blue and then one with just a light pink that would be great! :)

Yes Glyphica, thank you! :D

Because I have such a broad time frame available I obviously want to see as many options as I can, but Glyphica and Offbeat, I love the two that you've done for me so far!

Thank you for the color variations Offbeat!

Thank you for your submissions Giant! I really like the font in the second and third logo's, but I'm not getting a feel for what it is A Perfect Sort does in either of the three. While it certainly doesn't need to be a closet or drawers, I do want something that is representative of the organizing process.

Some of the areas I will most commonly work on are paper sorting and filing, closets, garages, kitchens, and home offices.

Thank you again, hope the above information helps! :)

Thank you Giant! I'm still not getting a feel for my business from this logo. I want people to look at it and I identify something to do with professional organizing. I want them to get a sense of what I will be doing from my logo, rather than an abstract. .................................................. ..........................

Thanks for your latest entries Giant!

I feel like Version 5 is more on the right track. I like that its more along the lines of organizing with the tabs, but I feel that the sense of the tabs gets lost in the black and white version and becomes just a shape. I'm not sure what can be done to rectify that, maybe a whole file folder?

Version 6 is also coming to me as just a shape and isn't representative of what I want people to think of when they see my logo. I want them to look at it and immediately get a sense of what I can give them, which is order out of chaos basically.

I don't want to get locked in to only doing paper sorting which is a concern with what that might represent. Is there a way to incorporate the files with another aspect?

Thanks for your entry bogglins, I appreciate you jumping on board! :)

I have to apologize because while I'm sure its obvious I'm not really getting what the hand is doing? :(

I don't know if my original description of my business was concise enough, but what I will be doing is going in to peoples home or offices and dealing with their clutter. Purging things they don't need, sorting what they do and putting it back in an orderly fashion.

Does anyone that has chimed in or anyone that hasn't have anything that I can clarify or expand on? I'm sorry, I feel bad not accepting some of the designs put forth :( , but I really need more of a conceptualization. I don't want abstract, I want people to look at my logo and KNOW what it is the business is in case the name doesn't do it.

Can someone please give me some feedback on whether my ideas/expectations are clear?

Thank you for your newest submission Giant, I'm sorry, its just not what I'm after, the folders look too much like a phone/date book.

Offbeat, thank you for adding your submissions!

Version 1 is too abstract in its concept. Its not showing my potential customer at all what it is my company does, though I do love the color scheme.

The font, I've come to realize that I really like to see a full line on the t's and f's, something I didn't know about myself til this project :P.

Version 2, once again, is too abstract, and doesn't relate to what it is my company does, which is basically purge, sort, and redesign a space for efficiency and less clutter. I will be working primarily with families, doing garages, closets, kitchens, small offices and paper management.

Hi.. Sorry if that was too abstract for you..

My concept was a hand sorting something.. put something in a the right place.. in a correct order.. :)

I'll try to fix it then.. or try other concept.

Thanks!

Taldo you are SO on the right track! :D I love the house, it shows itself really well in color and in black and white. I hadn't thought of going with the colors you've chosen but they're growing on me.

I really like the stacked boxes in the top left room, but could we reverse them so the tall stack is on the left, or maybe just 4 boxes all the same size? I will be working with a lot of storage bins, and containers and uniformity will be key.

In the other rooms, I'd like to see something more real, a paper stack maybe, a file folder, something with drawers, is that doable?

Also, could I please see a version with the text out to the side ?

Bogglins thank you for your Version 2! I really like the concept of a puzzle, I hadn't thought of it in those terms but you've given me something to think about. Let me sleep on that one please and I will look again in the morning with fresh eyes! :)

Very nice Taldo! The file folder box is bothering me, I'm not sure what it is, though one concern is that they won't translate as folders in a small image. Maybe if its just one or two?

I'd also like to see a few variations on the font, I like the one we have but its quite generic, maybe something a little more unique? Things I like in a font are f's and t's crossed, nothing too swirly, and no slant to the left though I don't mind it to the right.

Thank you for all your work, I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, I've been down with the dizzy's since Saturday.

Thank you Taldo! I think one folder is the way to go, I'm not too keen on the "open" part in the back though.

Also, regarding font, I've looked thru all that I have with WP and don't see any I like, do you have any hidden up your sleeve? I'd like something unique, readable, and neat. Maybe such a font doesn't exist  but who better to ask than a designer? :D

Thank you again Taldo! I'm sorry I haven't been on before now, I've not been well and haven't been making this my priority. I just now realized the date and the lightbulb went off.

I would like to extend the deadline until Jan 5, and do a final call out to see if there are any other entries.

I am very happy with what I have seen up to this point, but would like to get some feedback from friends and family, which I haven't had a chance to do as of yet.

Happy holidays to all!

Taldo I apologize again for my absence, I would like to see a few color variations please:

muted grey/olive

choc. brown/olive

orange/slate grey

Beside each if you could experiment with the size of the font in relation to the house please. My font choices are Poor Richard (MS Office) and Trebuchet. Thanks!

Thank you Taldo!

I don't know what my vision is in terms of color, I just can't seem to make a final decision on that. I do have Photoshop and am wondering if I can just end the misery for you if when I receive my files I am given the one where I can edit my colors in PS?

In terms of font size and placement, the middle one is my pick.

Let me know about an editable file and we can then consider this closed, I can't thank you enough for all your work, I truly love this logo! :)
