Thank you for making my day Offbeat...it's been one of those days....

I'm digging thie first one, although, I'll need to email a fellow photographer as I know her's is similar.

Suggestion - what would the first one look like with more modern/clean writing?

Great start!!

Ok, not working for me. I know I asked for it, and thank you. I think maybe the symbol needs some sort of script to balance it out...? yes? Other script?

Don't care for version B

What about version 4 with photogrpahy in script? Is that comment to have what the business 'is' in script or just the business name? meaning photography in script

OffbeatDesign
11-20-2008, 11:01 AM
It's not uncommon to have "photography" in script. Thanks.

Hmmm. Food for thought....

The other thing I have also liked in the past is oval integrated into the name/logo. Kind of like a name/address plate but vintage. Not sure how to explain that one. The other option is square. I'm unsure if I would like to integrate more feminine aspects into the design or keep it only slightly girly.

I also like this one ...the one on the left

Gloria Bell

Version one as attached. This design is really growing on me. clean simple effective. What about a colored background?

OffbeatDesign

oohh.....yummy! If I decide to go with a minty greeny blue like this color, do you think it will still look good? what would you suggest? I am open to changes in color.

Not a big fan of the font for the business name...
Like the shape, maybe a lighter green? definately right track.

I'm still favoring the one above however, the name plate aspect does appeal to me. With the green, after some thought, I prefer a lighter green. Seems less gloomy

Sorry, lighter meaning more to the gray like this.
I supose less saturation is another way to say it.

Offbeat. Still liking version 7 best. If I was to use the business card as noted in the first post and had the background as brown (what ever color brown is most suited with the colors used), and logo in brown. Would it be too dark?

OffbeatDesign
11-21-2008, 07:15 AM
If you went that way I would recommend going with a blue and white on the brown, or you could do a light brown/tan, but the exact color would depend on the background color you wanted to use.

All files you receive are completely editable, so changing colors for different applications is not a problem.

Gloria Bell

ok. So if need be I can change the colors to suit whatever I am working on? in what program? PS

OffbeatDesign
11-21-2008, 07:30 AM
You can change bitmap files (PSD, JPEG...) in Photoshop. Vector files (EPS, PDF) can be changed in Illustrator.

Gloria Bell
11-21-2008, 07:38 AM
do files come in psd and eps? Sorry for the ignorance in this respect.

OffbeatDesign
11-21-2008, 07:42 AM
No problem. Yes, you get EPS, PDF, PSD, JPEG, and any other file format requested. Thanks.

glyphica. Like the circle. I'm trying to go less long in the logo and name and more square-ish. Can I see what it would like like over the font and maybe another set of fonts as well? Less scripty?

Thanks.

Offbeat. version 4 with blue background in version 7? I'm really perplexed bewteen the baroque pattern and the [ie]. Any thoughts?

You have to go with what you think best represents you. Personally, I like the "ie".

Offbeat...version 14 - one last try with this design. Can I see what white lettering and brown baroque'y symbol are like? Love the font with this design and the [ie] design is near perfect
(version 7). Which is a better all around logo?

OffbeatDesign
11-22-2008, 02:07 PM
Here you go. I personally prefer the [ie] logo. There's no reason you can't use a baroque style pattern on your website or identity materials in addition to the [ie], that way you get the best of both. The [ie] is also a stronger icon to use as a watermark on your photos that's easily associated with your trade name.

http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/offbeatdesign/IslandExpressions16.gif

Gloria Bell
11-23-2008, 02:14 AM
I supose my concern now is making everything come together in packaging. Find the best overall solution. I agree [ie] is stronger and more unique. I don't watermark my photos. Hmmm internal conflict...

If I'm looking for a business card design after the logo, where would I post that?

Gloria Bell
12-01-2008, 01:17 AM
I'm not 100% on either, now that it has sit with me for a few days. Can you try a different symbol/ornament with you last post offbeat? Thanks.
