To guide the designers in the right direction from the start, please complete the following questionnaire and copy and paste it in the first message of your logo project:<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Project Summary:<o:p></o:p>
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
1st Priority: Oasis
<o:p> </o:p>
2nd Priority: Oasis Student Ministries (depending on readability and scalability)
<o:p> </o:p>
What type of product or service do you offer?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
We are a high school student ministry that targets students ages 13-18.
<o:p> </o:p>
How long have you been in business?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Oasis Student Ministries is part of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Grace</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Bible</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Church</st1:placetype></st1:place> which has been around for more than fifty years. I have personally been involved as youth pastor for the past 4 years.
<o:p> </o:p>
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.<!--[endif]-->Bring greater awareness of our ministry, events, and activities to a greater number of students in the local schools and community.<o:p></o:p>
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.<!--[endif]-->Build excitement and a healthy group image for our ministry among those currently involved.<o:p></o:p>
<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.<!--[endif]-->Lastly, we are moving into a new high school meeting space soon and would like to reflect this new logo and identity prominently in the room (on wall, etc) and moving forward on all future promotional materials (digital, web, print).<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
What are your long term goals?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
To use our new logo/group identity to help fulfill our vision as a ministry: to enable students to meet Jesus, know Jesus, and serve like Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20).
<o:p> </o:p>
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Dec. 19.
<o:p> </o:p>
Audience Profile:<o:p></o:p>
Please describe your existing audience<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
High school students, ages 13-18. Many from a non-church background. Culturally savvy, tech-savvy, and relationally tight.
<o:p> </o:p>
However, a secondary audience would include parents of students and existing (and future) church members (range between 20-70+).
<o:p> </o:p>
Who would you like to add to your audience?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Additional high school students.
<o:p> </o:p>
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:<o:p></o:p>
What type of logo would you like?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
A logo that communicates our vision (see above). One that is also relevant, contemporary, expresses life, but is clear and simple enough to be transferred and used in the various means we hope to (print, electronic, digital).
<o:p> </o:p>
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
No specific colors at this time. We would like the logo to be designed in such a was so that we could have a more embellished logo (for the web, etc.) as well as a flatter logo (perhaps 2 color – PMS colors) for letterhead/envelopes as well as T-shirts. We would like to keep it simple and easy to transfer to different media/promotional formats.
<o:p> </o:p>
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
I would like to have a number of variations of our logo -
<o:p> </o:p>
--image only (no words or text)
--image w/text
--text only
<o:p> </o:p>
I’m envisioning that based on the usage, one of the above 3 variations would be used, but the identity would still be understood, regardless of which variation is used. (think “MSNBC” logo or “NIKE” logo - each have image and text elements present, but also stand alone on their own merit to identify their brand and image)
<o:p> </o:p>
I like the idea of incorporating the theme of a beach/tree/water theme, but flexible on how that is played out in the actual logo.
<o:p> </o:p>
Examples:
<o:p> </o:p>
http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/ (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/) “Vulture” logo - like the curvature and dynamic feeling, also the forward shadow effect - communicates growth, life, getting bigger
<o:p> </o:p>
http://www.crosscurrent.cc (http://www.crosscurrent.cc/)/ “CrossCurrent” logo (on opening flash screen) - like: fluid/rounded, simple color,
<o:p> </o:p>
http://www.oasisoo.com (http://www.oasisoo.com/)/ “Oasis Online Outreach” logo - like: cool font, the letter “O” with palm tree in middle. Also like the footer on front webpage - sunset/trees
<o:p> </o:p>

--what I like: Good use of letter “O” with text on top, colors used, fonts used
<o:p> </o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Communication Strategy:<o:p></o:p>
What is your tagline or slogan?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Enabling students to meet Jesus, know Jesus, and serve like Jesus.
<o:p> </o:p>
Where will your new logo be used?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Various promotional materials - including a large wall mural in room, print (primarily letterhead/envelopes – not business cards), web, electronic
<o:p> </o:p>
Competitive Positioning:<o:p></o:p>
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
