Hello Wonderful Designers!
I ran a contest in September for my theater company that resulted in an awesome logo. Now I'm looking for a new logo for my San Francisco-based public relations company.
Can't wait to see what your creative minds will come up with. :)

Project: Logo re-design for public relations company: Paiz Public Relations
Design challenge: How to bring a sophisticated look to our company.
Contest ends: Monday, November 10th
About PAIZ PUBLIC RELATIONS
Started in 1997, Paiz Public Relations is a PR company for financial companies. Our clients include mutual funds, banks, and brokerages. See www.financialpr.com for more information.
Our audience:
Our audience is usually financial company VPs of Marketing. These are folks that are marketing savvy. Also, our clients tend to be conservative and upscale.
Our current logo:
When we started the company in 1997, it was the very beginning of the dot com boom. We had a logo that looked great then, but nowadays it looks very dated.
The purpose of this logo was to show that we were "plugged in" to the information age.
<img src='http://www.paiz.com/pr/logowname130x100.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Now we'd like to show that we're an established company that has a solid foundation, but with a West Coast personality (most of our competitors are on the East Coast).
Here's a list of our direct competitors:

www.wtblase.com

This gonna be tough ... :hammer:
I think that the "I" can be a human (apparently  ) holding the A and Z.
Comments please...

Wow! What a great assortment of designs!
Bill - We like the concept a lot. Our favorite is the second one down in the left-hand corner.
Anthony - Neat idea, but it's a bit busy. Also, we're not looking for a tagline, but thanks for the nice effort.
Mark - Nice, clean looks. Love the first one. We'd like to see the colors reversed (while keeping the image the same color). Also, it looks like "Paiz" is a slightly smaller font. Can you experiment with different fonts?
Alexander - We like the little dot element. #1-b is our favorite, but we'd like a cleaner looking font.
Ruairi - #1-B is our favorite of the three. Can you try another approach with the "Paiz" part?
hheine - A nice design, but we're looking for something a bit more clean and classic. Though the concept of stretching from "A to Z" is a brilliant idea. Can you try another approach?
Here's a couple of font modifications. :)

More great ideas!!
Jon - I like the first one. The contrast of the courier versus the Paiz font is nice. Also, I like the color schemes. Could you tweak the Paiz font so that the letters are a little cleaner? In particular the dot on the "I" is distracting for some reason. Otherwise, it's a great design.
Tonya - I like the idea that you have-definitley address the innovative aspect. Is there a way to adjust the "Paiz" part so that it's a bit more...friendly? I can't quite articulate it, but I'd like the name to be accessible.
Anthony - Really fun design. I think we're looking for something that's a bit more clean and crisp. It's a nifty idea though...
Thanks for all your great designs! Keep 'em coming!

More great ideas!
Jon - I think I like the font you had before. I went to myfonts.com for font ideas and here's some of the fonts that had some appeal:
Serpentina
Agenda
Craw Modern
Equestrienne RR
New Prarie
Caslon
ITC Leawood
Cooper Black
Raja - I really like the first concept. The dialog bubble over the "I" is a great idea. Perhaps try using an accent color, like orange for the dialog bubble and the "public relations." Also, can "public relations" fit underneath "Paiz" neatly? The second concept is good, but we're looking for something more symbolic than representative.
Thanks!

Even more great ideas! Boy, you're all so talented!! It's a good reference to be able to see the design in a small black and white version. Thanks for adding those.
Anthony - I do like the first one with the circular design--it definitely has pizzaz. I think we're looking for something with a cleaner look.
Tonya - Nice design, great color scheme. Any way to make it a more integrated design? Any other ideas?
Jon - I guess I still like the very first font you used. Perhaps you could just tweak the dot on the "I" on the first one, so it's more balanced. Also, my associate is telling me that he'd like us not to have any more swoops because our previous logo was so swoopy, and he's really tired of swoops.
Taldo - Nice, simple, clean. Very good! I like the way the "p" and "a" are sort of facing one another.
Mark - I like the first one. Though I think swoops are not going to be an option for us (see Jon's feedback re: swoops).
Raja - No relations to Ray, but he's awesome.
We really like this design! We'd like to see a couple of variations:
1. Same but with "Public Relations" in orange.
2. "Paiz" in black, quote bubble and "Public Relations" in the blue that you used in the fourth design.
Alex - These are fun ideas. Although I think we're looking for images that are more symbolic than representative.
This is a great contest!! Lots of great designs. Raja won the last contest I posted. Will he do it again? Ooooh, the drama....
Thank you to everyone for submitting!
Four days left....

 Hi Jill. This is my second post. Hope you enjoy a new concept.
Someoneīs trying to catch the "Z" ? I donīt think so. :P
Thereīs a little bit from symbolisms ....
Relationship in orange.
The human (white or purple).
The human uses his relationships to jump across itīs own barrierīs or to get closer
to someone. The humanīs movement pretend to pass to things:
1- public relations is a dynamic process
2- public relations require "soft" actions to reach itīs target.
Itīs not too obvious. I think thatīs the challenge.
Iīm a freak ?

Wow, even more!! This is going to be a tough decision.
Henrique - That's a really inspired approach. I like the concept a lot. It looks like that cool style of modern art with squiggly lines and dots. Is there a way to make the "P" more distinguishable (maybe starting from the left and looping up and around), and perhaps flattening the circle in the "a" so it's a tad more recognizable?
Mark - I like it. It's simple, clean, and direct.
Ryan - These are great concepts, but what would have more appeal is the integration of the entire name.
ElKootcho - Very different than the rest! It's an interesting approach, definitely looks West Coast, though I don't think it would appeal to our audience of financial marketing folks. But thanks for your two cents.
Thanks everyone. These are really great. You're all awesome!!
Nighty Night.

Sorry, Jill. Both logos in post number 2 were remaked, but the lack to identify the "P" did not vanish.
If you liked it so much I can send it, if you wish so.
So I tried to run to another concept, better of course.
The insight: B)
The main purple block is intended to represent a financial company. Paiz is inside this company helping them to break the anonymity ceilings using their savvy public relations knowledge. (the mind is in orange) The middle body part remembered me something like a heart, but that was not intended. :P
Two different concepts are presented.
If you liked it, I can show different styles of human symbols. Fashioned or more conservative. I tried to use terracotta and navy too.
Please, give me feedback about the fonts too.
Thanks,
Henrique.

Thanks to everyone who submitted designs. We've poured over every one and after much deliberation we've decided on...(drum roll please)
...Raja's design. It's the first one of the series he did on 11/7.
Due to the time crunch, we couldn't give more feedback on the designs submitted most recently. But do know that everyone's work was thoroughly evaluated by everyone at our company.
Thanks again!!!!
