I've only received one response since I've posted, so I've extended the due date until December the 30th. THANKS!

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Pet Sitter Pro! (don't forget the exclamation point)
What type of product or service do you offer?
Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Overnights, Pet Taxi
How long have you been in business?
About a year and a half
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A more professional look. The logo I am using now is one I created using free clip-art. It's cute, but I can't stop anyone else from using it.
What are your long term goals?
Increase business with the new, more professional look
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
I'm not really sure - I want to send cards out to my current clients with the new logo just after the first of the year, so I guess December 20th would be a good deadline
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Anyone with pets who wants personal in-home care while they are away
Who would you like to add to your audience?
I want people to realize, from my logo that this is a job I take seriously, and I'm not just anyone who can put together a website.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Here's the hard part...I'm not really sure. I like that my existing logo (can be viewed at www.Pet-Sitter-Pro.com (http://www.Pet-Sitter-Pro.com)) has images of the animals I care for - a dog, a cat, a mouse, a bird, and a turtle. I had created a logo for my rescue group, and this is what I came up with (http://pet-sitter-pro.com/images/LG_Logo_-_no_Words.gif). As you can see, it clearly was done by an amateur, but I like the idea of it. I run a pit bull rescue, so it's important to me that the dog in the logo represent a pit bull (NO CROPPED EARS - ONLY NATURAL, FLOPPY EARS!). If you can clean up that idea, I would love it, but I'd like to see other ideas with a pit bull and various other animal(s) (no reptiles). I would like there to be some sort of "relationship" between the animals, not just two images pushed together.
I thought of adding a fish jumping out of a pond and a bird perched on the dog's back, singing, but it might be too much detail for a design that will end up on a business card.
I 'd like to see some options that are more fun and others that are more serious and straightforward.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Not really. My biggest concern is that the logo still look great when I have to print in black and white or grayscale. I would also like it to fit in with the background of existing web site (www.Pet-Sitter-Pro.com (http://www.Pet-Sitter-Pro.com)), but if I saw a logo that didn't quite work, I would change the background of my site.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Like I said above, I DEFINITELY want a pit bull with natural, floppy ears in the logo.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
I'm serious about this business
I'm not a "kid next door" looking for an easy job
What is your tagline or slogan?
I don't have one, but if I see some options with stars, I have considered a tagline using the word "stellar." I'm just throwing out some of the ideas that have swirled around my head.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
I'm not "afraid" to care for large, so-called "dangerous" breeds of dogs.
I do like the idea of having multiple species - dog, cat, bird, fish, amphibian - so people don't think I only care for dogs and cats.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, business cards, New Year's cards, advertisements, return address labels, etc.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
http://favoritefriendspets.homestead.com/ (http://favoritefriendspets.homestead.com/) - I like that this logo is simple yet conveys that they care for dogs, cats, and birds
http://homebuddiespet.com/ (http://homebuddiespet.com/) - I DON'T like that the dog and cat in this logo were just "thrown" cropped and edited in from various pictures
http://www.peggiespets.com/ (http://www.peggiespets.com/) - I like that this one features silhouettes
http://www.pawprints-petsitting.com/ (http://www.pawprints-petsitting.com/) - Here again, I like that all species this company cares for is indicated in the logo
