Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Lorraine Daley
Wedding Photography
What type of product or service do you offer?
Wedding Photography
How long have you been in business?
5 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Attract sophisticate, high-end brides who want to work with a photojournalistic/artistic wedding photographer.
What are your long term goals?
More clients, higher end markets.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
January 5, 2009
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Mid-level budget brides...artsy. Those that are photographers, graphic designers themselves.
Who would you like to add to your audience? More high end brides.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
"Lorraine Daley" should be large,
"Wedding Photography" should be small underneath the name
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I like rich reds or cranberry reds and would like this to be the primary color. I want to warm family of colors because I think it translates well with weddings...and I think the blue family is a little overused in Wedding photographers work.
I adore these colors (red purple orange tan):

I would like red to be the main color of the logo. I will be redesigning my website in the next couple months, but the warm tan of their logo will be the background colors for my site. I also adore their whole look, but I think the cherry blossom is a little overused.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
I would like the logo to not be too busy and not too many colors (maybe 2 at most?). Clean and minimalistic is my aesthetic style.
I absolutely love this symbol of the gordian knot:

Any other sacred geometry shapes as well.
I like the idea of it looking like a flower, but not over the top feminine.
I also love Celtic knots that are not too complex, like the last one in this series:

I love pracus' and giant's work here:
