Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

"Melissa Palomo Photography", with intials mp preferrably
or "Melissa Palomo" with the tagline
"A Pet & People Photographer"

What type of product or service do you offer?
Photography, for pets & people

How long have you been in business?
2 yrs

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Be able to brand myself, stand out, have a clean and modern business appearance.

What are your long term goals?
Continue building my business and core clients, eventually open a studio.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Preferrably Jan 10 or sooner

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

Animal lovers, "hip", yuppies, DINKs

Who would you like to add to your audience?

More weddings, young folks, classy clients

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?

Modern, Clean (no textures, etc), clean lines.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Hot pink & light green. Pink is "my" color, I feel that it describes me.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

I would be interested in seeing my initials, but I am not set on that. I don't necessarily want a pet element, because I would like this to be used with weddings as well.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?

My vision, my style (my goal is to shoot clean and classic, though "modern".)

What is your tagline or slogan?

"A Pet & People Photographer"

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?

Where will your new logo be used?

Business cards, website, etc

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Clean. I like clean, symmetrical. I don't mind scripty fonts or elements, as long as it is balanced.

Here are a few that I've liked from here on DO:

But I also like the scripty aspect of a logo like this, it still remains the clean and balanced logo:

I definitely love the clean & simple name & "tagline", but I am not feeling the doodle for mp. Almost too simplistic? (And the m almost looks like an n in cursive.)

Can I see the m looking more like an m (with another hump) and the p not closed?

But the colors are perfect! Thanks!

Hello & Thank you.

Thank, NHR! I see where you're going, but I am not sure it works. I like the idea of combining the m & p if it can be done, but to me the p looks very unfinished. I would do away with the clovers/flowers too.

And after seeing the brown lettering, I think i might like the pink with the brown, and I can accent with green in packaging/website etc.

Thanks Glyphica!

I really like the revision (#2). Can't decide if it is too plain or if I like it as is!

Ver3, while I thought i liked it, is too busy. The little symbol isn't my style. I wonder if I could have a paw print there, even though I know I said I wouldn't want it as a pet specific logo? (Then maybe I could have an interchangeable symbol at some point with something non pet specific?) I'm not even sure about that, as I really do love the simplicity of the other.

Thanks for the revisions!

Glyphica, I really like the change to the tagline in v4, but I am not in love with the initials. I like the idea of the more "bubbly" initials, but I am not tied to this one. Something "prettier" and more feminine, maybe? To be honest, I think what I dislike it really just the difference and inconsistency in thickness in the lines of the m.

NHR, thanks for another attempt! The symbol looks awkward to me, almost like "Lm"? Can I see another font for my name as well?

THanks, Glyphica! I like the revisions, but don't know which I like more. :)

Blue Cherry, I'd like to see the second one with a prettier, scriptier font for the mp maybe?

Also, glyphica, on v2, can I see it with the p loop between my first & last name (similar to what you're doing with v7)?

NHR, I really love the idea of the one you put together! When I am ready to brand my businesses (weddings/pets) separately that is a design that I would be very interested in.

In the meantime, I think I should stick with my initials.

Glyphica, love the recent one. I think I'll go ahead and choose this design and finish up a few little things with it, but I love it! :)

I basically love it as is, but can I also receive it with just the "mp" design so I can easily create a brush from it?

Ahh, stupid problem. I just got back on my calibrated monitor and the pinks are a bit too orangey for me. Is there anyway you can make them more pinky?

Like with these numbers? (Don't know if these would be the numbers you need or not).

Color #dc255b RGB:(220/37/91)
