Hi all,

I need a business logo. I will be using this logo to brand many of the books I write and programs I offer. The audience will be varied however, as some will be small business owners, entrepreneurs, information marketers, as well as the hobby horse market.

I also will be using two tag lines.

Take the Reins and Taking the Reins.

So I would like something simple that I can use for many end uses. I am thinking just the words that way I can add pictures to change the end look.

Not sure on color but I don't care too much for black or dark colors as again I will use this in my banners on my web site and on other forms.

I am thinking using just the words or some simple symbol that would illustrate Take the Reins...but I am not sure.

1. First audience: existing small business owners, entrepreneurs and new entries into the world of business and online business – primarily women over the age of 45
2. Second audience: is horse owners who have horses for a hobby or a business who will need business training and also training on how to products for better skills with their horses
Who would you like to add to your audience?

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I want something simple since I will use it in many different ways. But by simple I mean use on the words with some design lines or just a design line that would represent take the reins.
I also like flow to the line or name ie like you would see with a Calligraphy type of font.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I like blue tones and purple tones. Or if it is going to be a flow line then maybe in white so that then it would go with blue or purple web banners.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No but I think I have in mind more script type of font using the words and then with a flow line under them.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Inspiration to take charge, take the lead, take the reins of life and business

What is your tagline or slogan?
I will have many and these will change with product and audience.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?

Where will your new logo be used?

Sorry about the delay. Company and computer problems. I am still undecided about the two of these as I do like both of them. If I wanted both designs, what would I need to do?

Actually both designs. I can choose the design and change colors as I choose after I get the files right?
I may decide to go with design version 2 by BlueCherry and Version 2 by Glyphica..

I am not quite sure yet... but may have a use for both of them in different markets. Will determine for sure tomorrow.

Yes, you should be able to change colors as long as you have Illustrator or Photoshop... or you can have us take care of that in the revisions forum :)

Each of you has given me some great logo's to review. Thank you for your time and work. I am playing around with them so while it seems I am not doing anything I am working with them to see which one fits the best in the overall scheme.

glyphica, I think your design most fits my needs for now for this logo.
The only difference I see in version 1 and 2 is the color..right?
I would like to have the files in the both colors you have chosen plus red and purple...if you don't mind. I will be using them in a variety of ways.

I like version 1 of your design...possibly for a banner ad and for my signature ad.
Is this set up so that I could add a word at the end of the phrase to meet other needs as I have them. for instance on my signature I would use it as take the reins to your success
on a banner ad I would add other words to it. Do you see this as a problem if I use Illustrator? If not then I may want to purchase yours as well. I would also want this in the colors you have..the mulit colored one, red, and purple.

Just want to make sure... do you mean a gradient from red to purple like this? or a full red gradient version, and a full purple gradient? Because you already have a purple version?

something is wrong with the files. I can't open any of the illustrator files. Cant get to any color except the black one and that one only in photo shop. it says the files are there but they won't copy over and I can't open them in any program.

I just replied to your message via private...still unsure if you are getting those.

but I have illustrator 8 and it will not allow me to open the files with the illus. ext.
I was able to get the jpeg files to open.
