Hi everyone,

I look forward to working with all of you. This is the 1st of several projects and is a very simple one. I value your time tremendously and am very careful in choosing my words to accurately describe the goal of the project. Please read everything carefully and thoroughly and feel free to post any questions should you have them.

Thanks!

Project Summary:
1. What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

"Mahari Co. LLC" - "Mahari" is the focus, but "Co." and "LLC" must be present.

2. What type of product or service do you offer?

This company is the parent company for a few starts up within the fashion industry. The primary demographic that those companies will serve is young, hip and professional. That being said, this logo should not feel pretentious in any way.

3. What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?

The purpose of the logo is to establish the company as a a stable, prestigious, modern, yet stylish company. High fashion is a part of the company and the image should convey that. (Think Chanel, Mercedes, etc.) The logo should be very recognizable and easily branded across a variety of mediums.

4. When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

The 1st week of January.

Audience Profile:
5. Please describe your existing audience

The audience is mostly professional women 25-35, but this logo should not come across as overly feminine or youthful. It is most important that the logo conveys a sense of authority and stability.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
6. What type of logo would you like?

The logo should just be text. The letters should be easy to read, strong and bold with a hint of femininity to add a little style. As references, the client provided:

Since this is the logo for a parent company, it should represent one. Sleek, professional, and modern.

7. Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)

Egg plant, deep purples, red or burgundy. Again, slightly feminine, but sophisticated.

8. Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

The logo should just be text. It is fine to make the text stylish, I want the logo to be memorable, but nothing "over the top." Sophisticated more than trendy.

Communication Strategy:
9. Where will your new logo be used?

All mediums. Web, print, TV, t-shirts, etc.

Targeted Message:
10. State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Sleek, professional, modern. Manhattan, NY.

Extra Info:
"Mahari" means Divine Maiden in Sanskrit (http://www.babynames.com/name/MAHARI).

Thank you all! I'm excited to see what you guys come up with!

LutFi,

Thank you so much for submitting your work!

Re: Post #2: The logo seems too inconsistent to me. The elements you have added to the "M" and "i" draw a lot of attention, but seem more distracting than anything.

Re: Post #3: This is closer. The client does not want any type of symbols. The logo should be purely text, although it can be manipulated slightly to make it more interesting.

The colors of both logos are in the area of what the client requested. I guess my main concern is that neither of these logos capture the sophisticated, sleek, modern feel the logo needs to have. Can you please try something more along that line?

Thanks LutFi!

Glyphica,

Thank you for your submissions. You are definitely on the right track. Of the 3 you posted.. I like post #10 the best. Can you move the letters slightly closer together and on the first "A" can you have the space on the left of the horizontal connector line instead of the right? (You can just flip that "A") I want to make it look a little more symmetrical and less like a standard issue font - if that makes sense.

Nutscreative - post #11 seems a little too casual. #12 is interesting. Can you try some variations of that concept? I like how the "M" stands out from the other letters, I'm just not too font of either of the fonts used.

LutFi - Thank you for sticking with this. I liked #14 best. Is there something you can do to make the letters a little more unique? I want to keep everything very simple and professional, but the logo needs to be recognizable and have it's own style. That is the only thing missing at this point.

Thank you all! Have a great Xmas!

LutFi - Thank you once again. I like post # 23 best. My only request is that everything be the same color. I like the element you added inside the "A's," but can it be the same color as everything else?

Thanks for everything! Enjoy your Xmas!

Nutscreative and Paula thank you.

The client has requested one alternative style. She provided this as a sample:

Please try "mahari" as lower case in a similar font / look & feel.

Thanks!
