Summary:
I am a professional Wedding Photographer that wants to re-brand their business. I have been doing business under www.photojake.com for about 3 years as a part-time photographer. I am transitioning into full time and have decided to go with a new name and branding. You can check out my blog at: www.photojake.com/blog/ for more images of my current style of photography.
I may also be working with another photographer in the near future as a team so keep that in mind. I also just bought a new bludomain.com site (http://www.blusites.com/juan/) that I will be using the logo for. I will be transferring my current wordpress blog to my new domain name and re-branding it with the new logo and color scheme.
Logos I like:
http://hofferphotography.com/blog/
http://aperturaphoto.com/blog/
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
-Delighted Photo or Delighted Photography.
What type of product or service do you offer?
-Wedding Photography
How long have you been in business?
-3 years under a different name.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
-Attracting higher end clients and establish a brand
What are your long term goals?
-Wedding Photography to be my primary source of income. Work with one or two other Wedding photographers.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
-Jan 23rd, 2009
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
-low to medium range clients
Who would you like to add to your audience?
-Higher end clients.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
-no real colors in mind. Stay away from pink, grays, b/w. Looking for something with vivid colors.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
-no. I want something modern and fresh. I am a male photographer so nothing to flowery or pink.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
-professional, modern, high end, vibrant, fresh.
Where will your new logo be used?
-website, business cards, and brochures

Hi Glyphica,
Thanks for the submissions.
What I Like:
The colors are good. I would like to also have some earth tones as well as bright vivid colors.
What I don't Like:
I like that you are trying to use the letters "DP" for a logo, but I am not in love with either one of these two.
The fonts are a little to basic.
Suggestions:
I have been thinking of what I want and I am looking for a logo that describes "Delighted". Something that is peaceful, blissful, beautiful. Also, if you can incorporate the logo into the text of Delighted.
Thanks again for the submission and keep them coming.

Hello xpressions,
Thanks for the submission. This is really not what I am looking for. I am looking for a logo with more colors. Please stay away from grays and b/w (obviously, I would like the logo to look good in b/w, but would like it to be in color for most things). I really like what you have been doing with "Bliss photography" logo. I am also looking for a logo that is more horizontal (i.e. something that would look good in a 300x80 dimensions). I am not in love the fonts.
Suggestion:
The fonts I like are either hand written ones or san serif fonts. Not a big fan of cursive or serif fonts.
Thanks.

12-29-2008, 01:23 PM
Hi glyphica,
This is much better. I am liking the font and the colors. The design I like, but I am not sure if it works. I want something that is both beautiful and says Wedding or photography or Delighted. This is definitely going in the right directions. Still open to something totally different, but I like what you have done so far. Thanks.

More Suggestions:
I would love to see a stylized letter "D".
Here are some logos and colors I like. The first 3 I like the colors. I like the brackets on the "stacy Francis" logo. And the last one I like because it reminds me of an abstract photo lens. I hope this helps.

These two new design are too simple. I am not sure what direction to tell you to go in. Keep trying. I really like the logo with the "A" logo and budbusrt logo. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi nutscreative,
Thanks for the submission to my project. I like the effort, but it is just not doing it for me.
Version 1's "D" looks more like a J or a 9. I like the second one, but it is way too much like "Tony Hoffer" logo. I don't want to be ripping off his very lovely logo.
*Edit* The 3rd one seems out of place. I like the font arrangement best out of the three, but the "aperture" don't seem to really fit with the "D". */end of Edit"
Colors and fonts are just okay. Nothing bad about them, but nothing to get attached to either. Keep them coming. I really am enjoying all the effort that is being put into this logo. Thanks.

I don't like the lower case d. I am also looking for a more horizontal logo. I don't really like the brown color either. Thanks for all the submission.
*EDIT* I like version 5 more. Can you use an upper case "D" and incorportate it into the word "delighted". Also, can use remove the outline of the "D". If you look at the "A" logo it has no back outline. Also, can you try to use squares, or circles instead of an aperture. Thanks *end of comment*
Each one is coming a little closer to what I am looking for.

Hi glyphica,
I am not really feeling it. I think I made my original logo request too broad. Let me limit it and change up what I am looking for.
I think I have picked out the colors that I like. I like the light blue/dark brown colors (the blue I like is from the "Figment" logo and the brown is the inverted color of the blue). I am planning on having a light blue background for my website and have some of the text in a dark brown and white. I would like a logo that is either brown or white.
The budburst logo is my favorite logo. I would love to see someone that can incorporate the letter D with that type of graphic. I would also like it in white like it is in the logo.
Another direction I would like is to see some more logos like the "A" logo that I gave. I would love to see some tries at that.
Please focus on logos like that. I hope that helps. Thanks.

Hi nutscreative,
I am liking this. The best of all the logos so far. Can you use the blue as the background and make the logo in white? Can you make the circles go from thickly packed to thin as you move from bottom to top similar to the "A"? In general, can you use less circles overall. Thanks.
I would also love to see a try with the budburst style. Thanks.

Hi Shnicker,
Thanks for the submission. I think you misunderstood my suggestions. I like the buds, but I wanted them coming off a letter D. Or if they made a letter D and make it look "natural". I did not want letter D's flying all over the place.
I am not to fond of the fonts either. They seem too simple and everyday. Keep trying and I am not sold on anyone just yet. Blow me away and get my $200. Thanks.

Wow! Thanks for all the designs. I like a lot of them. I will need to take some time and look over all of them. Great work. Now, I have the hard part in selecting the one I like best.
I am still open to other designers. I thought I had one, then a new one comes and blows me away. I am really impressed by all the great work being done here.
If you have a good idea, try it out. It might just get you my $200. Thanks.

Thanks for all the great work. I have narrowed down my selection to a few that I like (4). I would love to see some variation in the fonts. More specific, I would love to see some hand written style fonts.
Can you please also give a variation with a white and a blue background. The blue that I am going to be using is #a1c5db. Thanks and happy new year.

I think I have narrowed it down to Offbeat version 7ba and glyphica version 9. I have put up offbeats logo on my page to see if I like it and to get other people options on it. I will also put up glyphica up and get some more options. I should have a decision within a day or two. Thanks.

Hi Offbeat and glyphica,
I am at the final stages of picking one of your two logos. What I need is this.
1. Can you make a few variations with hand writen fonts (not cursive. more like offbeats 7ab).
2. Can you make the logo fit into a 300x80 pixel size. You can put a box around it to show the crop. The 300x80 is a restriction of my website.
3. Can you make a variation which is more vertical. I want to use it on my business cards and other matierials and would like to see a more vertical presentation.
Thanks for all the help. This will be my last request from the both of you before I decide on a winner. Thanks again for all the work. I wish I had the money to buy them both.

Hi all,
Okay, I have decided to go with offbeat's design. I really like the 7ab version, but would like to get some variations of the vertical logo. Use the font from the 7ab version.
Also, I would like a b/w version, a blue&white version (like 7ab) and one that is on a white background (similar to version 2).
Thanks again for all the entries. It was a hard decision.

Hi offbeat,
I want to have the option of using it when I need a vertical logo. I was planning on using it on my business card.
I guess, can you just make the text smaller and put it under the logo. I am sure that would work fine. Thanks.

The vertical just looks out of place. Don't worry about it, I think I will be fine with what you have already made. The only real reason I wanted a vertical one is for a business card and I think I can make due without. Can you please send me the high resolution files in a .psd file so I can work with them in photoshop. Thanks.
