Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Andrea Brown Photography
What type of product or service do you offer?
I photograph babies/children/families
How long have you been in business?
3 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I hope to present myself as a more polished professional.
What are your long term goals?
To consistently attract clients who value custom portraiture and who do not mind paying for it. My identity needs to say that "I am worth the money!"
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
I'd like for all proposals to be submitted by Jan 7th, please.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
I presently attract those who value custom portraiture, but I also attract those who are looking for a bargain. I want to pull away from those who are bargain hunters and a quality brand (starting with the logo) will help me pull away.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Those who value quality, simplicity with a twist of uniqueness tossed into the mix!
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I want something that is sophisticated while also having a little whimsy. I like the poppy flower and would like to see it incorporated in a unique way. I'm open to any cute graphics that will add to the logo in anyway.
See a sample of diva doodle fonts here:

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I'd prefer black and white with just a touch of color. One thought I had was b/w with red. Red is a nice strong color without being too off putting. I"m open to other colors, I like burnt orange, and yellow.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That I am a professional who puts out quality work. I want it to say that I'm serious about my work, while also communicating that I am approachable.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Creating life as it happens...
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
I deserve the money I'm asking the client to pay and the logo needs to convey confidence. Confidence in my ability as an artist and I want the client to KNOW they will get what they pay for and more.
Where will your new logo be used?
On my website (www.andreabrownphotography.com) and on printed materials. My stationary will be white and I'll have matching white envelopes, stickers for packaging and biz cards.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
I like the logos here:

http://www.sarahfreel.com/index2.php
http://www.christieprovostphotography.com/
List competitive URLs if possible
What sets you apart from your competitors?
The quality of my work and my willingness to do things a bit differently. I have awesome competitors, so my branding will be one of the things that I will rely on to set me apart.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
sophisticated whimsy
Thank you so much for considering the job. I've seen great work here and I am expecting to be wowed! I appreciate your time!
