2140 Interactive

Admin code added by Abby - 0WR53833J8144005B
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
2140 Interactive
What type of product or service do you offer?
Web design and development. Interactive product demos.
How long have you been in business?
6 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
New, consistent branding. I've never had a real logo.
What are your long term goals?
Have our name associated with good, consistent work at a fair, competitive price.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Jan. 9th, 2009
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Mostly small to medium sized businesses across all industries. One large Fortune 500.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Larger companies
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Clean, modern and sophisticated. I have attached the header of my site with a filler logo to give you and idea of what the website style will be. I have not included the filler logo to influence you in any way. That was me (a web designer) fooling around and filling in space. ;)
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I want the main color of the logo to be the blue of my website (for all collateral). See attachment. The version that will go on my website does not have to be white, but needs to fit in with the blue color scheme of the website. I am not opposed to additional accent colors and don't want to put any restrictions on what not to use. If you feel that it is a sophisticated, modern color scheme, I'm open to it. Do your thing !
The reason I chose blue is that it is a soothing comforting color. One of the things that my clients like about doing business with us is that they trust what we tell them.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No, but the www.usableinterface.com logo is great! I like a lot that incorporates the icon in a very creative way. It makes sense that they used a mouse. Don't use a mouse me though, and don't use a computer monitor or any such obvious choices. Be as creative as you'd like. If you decide to use an icon, PLEASE go the abstract route in its use. Make it abstract, but identifiable.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That we are a modern, creative company.
Where will your new logo be used?
Biz card, website, letterhead, email signature.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
http://www.advancewebdesign.com/
A little on the strange side for the font choice.
http://www.weblinc.com/
Don't like the font but the use of the icon make total sense. Very relative to the name of the company
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are a team of subcontractors that work together. I own the company, work from home, and manage all the clients. Everyone else also does their thing from home as well. No brick and mortar store keeps our development costs lower.

;) Question...what is the significance of "2140"? Just curious.

#2 - I don't really like this one. 2140 and Interactive seem to be too separate. Like they don't belong together. Not too fond of the oval around 2140 either.
#3 - I like this one better. It's clean and minimalistic, which I like, but I'm not sure how this would fit in to the current design of the site. Do you also see this tilted in all the collateral? I'm open to your comments. Maybe another element added to this one.
#4 - It's creative for sure, but too busy. I should have used the word minimalistic in my description so I apologize for not doing so. Clean, modern and minimalistic.

;) Question...what is the significance of "2140"? Just curious.
Sorry, I didn't see your question before. There is no significance to 2140 as far as the branding goes. There's a funny story behind it, but it doesn't relate to any of this. Thanks for asking though ! Greg

:) The initial idea was to hi-light the code aspect of the "2140" and give the impression a screen/website and it's inner workings in the background. I can see how I let that get away on me.
Here is a back to basics version of the binary hi-light concept.

Tyler, you scaled back on this one for sure, but I think I just don't like the idea. Even though we do coding for all our sites, think more design than binary coding. Sophisticated design is more what I'm looking for. Thank you !

#11 - It's a creative idea, but made me think too much. I didn't get it right away. I don't want people to have to think about what's going on too much.
#12 & 13 - I've seen variations of this swish in many logos and was looking for something a bit more unique. I like the simple clean design though. Next go-around can you use the blue that's in my new site design. Having a hard time envisioning what this would look like on the site.
#14 & 15 - These make me think Telecommunications company.
#16 - Think clean and minimal. This is a bit too jumbled with too many colors. I would stick to one other color if you want to add one. Font is too thick for my taste.
I FOUND A LOGO THAT I LIKE A LOT. THIS SAYS CLEAN, MININAL, MODERN TO ME. WWW.INFINETDESIGN.COM

I found two more logos that I really like that very much convey a clean, mininal, modern design to me. Hoping these will give you more of an idea of what I like from the description I used.

Tyler, this is definitely going in a much better direction. Can you try different fonts, especially for interactive. It's too thick. Maybe thinner version of same font would work better. Font for 2140 is bland. I'm having a hard time envisioning how we could work this into my site design. You're using the same blue as my site, which I like, but then how would it be applied to the site? (Black is not an option) Thank you !!!

#29 - Jeff, of all of your submissions, I like this concept the best by far so I'll comment on this only. I like the font choice. I like how the 4 drops below the other numbers. It adds a very simple element to the design. I like interactive in all lower case. I like the idea of the three design elements, BUT, they're too pretty. Reminds me too much of flower petals. Too big, also. They overshadow the name. Use something I haven't seen though. A few of the entries are using elements I've seen in other logos. REALLY good direction, though ! Thank you !!!

#34 - I like where you're going with this, 2-1-4-0. I go it. That part of the design far over shadows the name though. I love the creativity, but 2140 should be the main focus, followed by Interactive, the design element third. Great idea though !!
#35-40 - These are better. I was going to add to my previous post and didn't have time to. What I was going to say was don't be afraid to give that element some depth. These seem one dimensional and a bit flat.
#41 - Again, creative take on 2140, but that element is much too big. Dice doesn't portray a trustworthy image to me either.
Thank you !!!

#52 - I really like the way you're going with this, but there are a couple things that are off to my eye. Try going with different fonts. I like the thinner fonts of something like #41. I also would like to see interactive in lower case. You're design element is very creative but I don't like that it's touching the #2. Could it also work on the other side? Simply a suggestion. Keep going with this. Expand on what you're doing with the design element if you want without getting too crazy. Only if you want, though.

xpressions - I like you're #60 the best so far. The last version you did for me. I was wondering if we could try a different font though. Take a look at #35. The "4" in that font dips below the other numbers. I like that little element but realize that this may screw with your design. Can you look at using something like to see what it looks like? I'll trust your judgment if it doesn't work. Thank you

Xpressions, if this last tweak fails, then we'll probably go with #60 as is.
1. I'd like to see you do the same coloring (gradient) you did with #60 to #66, also keeping the squares the one tone as in #60 instead of having three of them darker.
2. I see with the drop in the #4 how it competes with the word interactive. Can I see how it looks with the word interactive started below the "0" of 2140. I realize you'll have to bring the font size down and change the leading. Do what you can with that. Thank you so much.

This is looking great. Just a couple tweaks and we can put this to bed.
1. As far as the blue versions go, I like the one with the gradient. Give that effect another go. That dark spot on the drop of the 4 is a bit distracting. Can you soften it or try it again to get it as close as possible to how it looks on #60?
2. Increase the leading in "interactive" just a hair and nudge it closer to the 4. Don't put it too close, but I think there's room to play with.
We're close. Thank you for your patience.
