We have a need for two similar 8.5 x 11 tri-folds, one for our own company (USA Voice & Data -www.usavoicedata.com (http://www.usavoicedata.com)) and one for a partner company that we are whitelabelling our services for (IMG Technologies www.imgtechnologies.net (http://www.imgtechnologies.net))

These are going to be very professional and striking looking tri-folds that we can either mail to individual perspective clients, or, leave a bunch of, with a stack of our business cards at the office building managers/leasing agents for their perspective tenants.

Content and style is going to be similar for both, but logos, colors and some other minor content modifications are going to be necessary to tie in with the brand of each company.

The tri-folds are going to be primarily marketing our Telecom Brokering Services, which allow businesses who are either

Moving into new office space and needing new telecom services
Wanting to reduce their telecom spend, or
Wanting to upgrade their telecom services (more bandwidth, more features etc)to ensure they get the best deal for their new telecom services and without having to go through the slog of shopping for those services.

Anyway I will attach some files with some draft designs that I pulled together for each trifold using Powerpoint. I can also provide the relevant Logo designs and Business Card designs for you to work with.

I look forward to seeing the same variety and creativity with this project as I saw from DO Designers in our USA Voice & Data logo and business card/stationary package.

Please let me know what additional input or files or information would be helpful to get things started

Cheers :D

Project Update: This project is now validated an open!!!

Please post a message to the Client if you will be entering.

The project deliverables are two tri-folds BUT the project will be run for one layout design. After the winner is announced they will duplicate the layout twice and the second tri-fold will have some text revisions to be made and a different logo used.

If you have any questions please ask.

Sam Sansome
01-06-2009, 08:24 AM
Yep if we can focus on the the USA Voice & Data tri-fold, then whichever designer wins that can make the minor modifications for the second IMG tri-fold.

We are interested in seeing how you can use some background related images of telecom such as:

-Telecom equipment
-Professional people using telecom
-Telecom cabling
-Telecom technicians
-High rise office buildings (preferably in the US and in particular Chicago, San Fran and Seattle)

To make the tri-fold more striking and professional looking, but without distracting from the content....

Again let me know if there is some form of document which I could provide to help you extract the content.

Cheers
Sam

We are in a bit of a crunch mode so we are looking to have selected our designer by the end of next week 1/16.

Also here is the EPS file for the USA V&D Logo that was requested. Afraid the AI file was over the filesize limit

Sam Sansome

First and foremost, thanks to all the designers who have already submitted one or more concepts. Bravo!!

Now we have seen a handful of different designs we wanted to provide firstly some overall observations/feedback and minor tweaks to some of the wording and layout that your work has highlighted as necessary. This is common feedback and changes that we would like each designer to implement, so please make sure these changes get applied to each of your designs.

Following this first message will come a second which will highlight what we liked and didn’t like in each of the concepts submitted, and what we would like to see before we finalize our decision on which designer to work with to complete the project. Please read all of these reviews so that you can see if there is some feedback given to another designer that you might also want to consider for revisions to your own concept.

Anyway, here goes…

General Remarks and Layout Requests
1) We were expecting, per our initial design considerations to see

“We are interested in seeing how you can use some background related images of telecom such as:

-Telecom equipment
-Professional people using telecom
-Telecom cabling
-Telecom technicians
-High rise office buildings (preferably in the US and in particular Chicago, San Fran and Seattle)

To make the tri-fold more striking and professional looking, but without distracting from the content....”

While each designer used images, only one designer (sglasgow) really used a background image. Perhaps the other designers could take another look at this?

2) Please BOLD what we had bolded
3) Perhaps less is more? Let’s not pepper every page with the USA V&D Logo. Let’s make it just appear on:
a. Front page (page 1) big logo at top
b. Back page (page 2) small logo at bottom (with address AND webpage www.usavoicedata.com )
4) On the front page (page 1) we like seeing a photo of a support person (or persons) directly under the “Your Trusted Long-Term Telecom Advisor” the image directly reinforces that catchphrase.
5) On the Page 3 (Front of Fold) under the bullet “Trained teams of certified technicians to install your selected solution and maintain your telecom and IT infrastructure” it would be nice to see a photo of a well dressed technician working on some phone equipment or in a phone equipment room
6) Remove from Page 3 (Front of Fold)
a. The “80% of Clients…..” and make that a large banner above the sample Exec Telecom Brokering Report (as many of you have done already)
b. The “*For a FREE Executive Telecom Brokering Report mention…..” and place that under the sample Exec Telecom Brokering Report7) On the bottom of Page 4 (Inside Fold) the page facing the sample Exec Telecom Brokering Report it would be good to add a sentence “Our team of telecom specialists is awaiting your call.” and under this sentence see a photo of a mixed team of professional and competent looking support people, with an attractive girl closest to the lens, answering calls and sitting in front of their computers.

Thanks a million!! :notworthy

OK folks as promised here is some more customized feedback for each design submitted thus far.

We hope this individual design feedback is helpful, and in conjunction with the general feedback already provided, that it provides the DO design team a better understanding of our wishes :wizard:, likes :tup:and dislikes .

Naturally we would appreciate seeing revisions to the designs we have seen so far, as well as welcome seeing any new concepts, as soon as possible. Once we have these we hope to be able to quickly finalize our decision on which designer to work with.

Many thanks!!
Sam

Nutscreative
Version 1
• Liked the use of red for the headings
• Liked the banner style over sample Exec Telecom Brokering Report (but perhaps you can use red and blue like on our homepage versus the red and yellow?)
• Liked the smiling faces of team on Page 2
• Not fans of the light blue for “Your Trusted Long-Term Telecom Advisor”
• Not sure that the big red box with white lettering adds anything and I think adding white as another text color is unnecessary (you already have red, blue and black)
• Image of computer on bottom of page 1 does not seem relevant. Please replace with a photo of a Trusted Telecom Advisor and move up under that heading
• The “Call 312-604-3070 today or…..” at the bottom of page 1 is too small and not a noticeable call to action. Make this bigger and make it stand out more please.
• Two images of cabling were used and none of phone systems or even people on a phone, perhaps you can suggest some alternative images
• Perhaps you can enrich with the use of a background image as well
• Liked the top speech bubble with Red filling and Blue surround although blue needs to match the dark blue from the logo. Use same style for other speech bubbles rather than reversing the colors out.

Version 2
• Not sure if applying the business card swirl concept added anything but thanks for trying
• I see you darkened the blue used in the speech bubbles which is better, but still would like the red bubbles with dark blue surround used for each bubble
• I also see you removed the overlap of the speech bubble which is better

Minimi
Version 1
• Liked the use of red for the headings but you weren’t consistent throughout the design which weakened it’s impact
• Liked the photo on the front page and it’s positioning, it reinforced the “Your Trusted Long-Term Telecom…” statement (perhaps there is another photo though as that guy looks a little smug??)
• Don’t think the red, blue and grey blocks with white lettering add anything and make it look a bit patchy
• Photo of a circuit board is not relevant, images of cabling, phone systems or even people on a phone are more relevant, perhaps you can suggest some alternative images?
• The solid speech bubbles were nice and simple but would prefer they were all USAV&D red and also need to move them around to point to the relevant fields more closely without blocking too much of the content
• Good idea including our website address but this we would like to appear on Page 2 under the physical address
• Perhaps you can enrich with the use of a background image as well rather than just a simple fade from sky blue/grey to white?

Mediagord
Version 1
• Really liked your use of image on page 1 and how you leveraged our biz card concept and also managed to pull in that invitation “Let us handle…” very cool!!
• Is there a background image on page 1? I don’t see anything online but when I print it there seems to be something in the background which I can’t quite make out…
• The girl on page 1 is deadly cute so we may have to think about whether someone that cute can be someone’s “Trusted Long-Term Telecom Advisor”?? What do you think?
• Really liked how on page 1 you broke the bullets down into two columns.
• The font used seems a little on the little side throughout so it is hard to read, and we would prefer red for headings and black for regular text
• Perhaps we can remove the image from page 2 and scale down the image on page 3, which will allow you more room for a larger font for the text. Then perhaps you can enrich this whole side with the use of a background image as well?
• Is there perhaps an image of a mixed team with both professional office workers as well as uniformed technicians that you can find for page 3
• No need to the logo and physical address on page 3
• Not a fan of either of the different styles of speech bubbles used on the Executive Summary and the entire back looks pretty plain with a lot of space being wasted with the large blue top and bottom borders (and the Executive Brokering Report itself looks like it could be blown up a good amount?).

sglasgow
Version 1
• Really really liked your use of the backgroung office building images!! Makes the whole deliverable a lot more professional looking,
• The image on page 1 might be a better candidate for the bottom of page 4 (per the general feedback) and perhaps you can find a “Trusted Long-Term Telecom Advisor” photo for page 1
• Call to action “Call 312-604-3070 today..” on bottom of Page 1 is too small and not striking enough
• Not a fan of blue text. Please use red for headings and black for the rest and bold as requested.
• Liked the size and font of the text used throughout, makes it readable and spacious
• The curve of the top blue swoosh seems to work well on the first side, cupping the USA V&D logo on page 1 and consistent with the curvature of the windows of the building in the background image, but wondering if it will work on the rear side once we move the “80% of Clients see savings...” banner to the top above the Executive Brokering Report? Perhaps you can show me a version with and without this top blue swoosh.
• Not sure about the abstract bottom red image? It is so angular and straight compared to the top blue swoosh. What is it or what is it meant to infer? Perhaps you could show me a version without it?
• We have decided we don’t need logo and address again on page 3 this can be replaced with an image of a mixed team with both professional office workers as well as uniformed technicians if you can find one?
• Can we change the speech bubble style to red bubbles with blue surrounds and white text?

I've added in the technician images you sent; picked out two of the best.
Also added the phone image to the back panel; two options there. IF the second of the two is used, I will go in and remove the spotting caused by dust on the camera lens. What would you like me to do about the logos on the shirts for this brochure. I cna remove them and/or impose the USA... logo.
I've made the changes to the people on the front, using the older gentleman, the blonde, and male as you asked plus an additional woman. The images will be much, much better quality when high res's are purchased.
Again, please let me know on the exact text for the inside of the brochure: "Our.....are standing by." The phone connection had a lot of noise.
I increased the size of the top text bubble and brought the top up over the black bar.

Thanks Susan

People look much better and like the fading under the people on the front page better than that curvy line

Bubbles are still not quite like Minimi ones

No surround border color for the bubbles please
Less space above and below the text in the bubbles (there is no need to make the bubbles as tall as they are)
Can we get a still slightly larger font for the red bubbles?

Also

Please shrink the phone just a little
Move the "* For a FREE Telecom Brokering ...." down a little
Shrink the size of the Telecom Brokering Report back down to it's old size so it pops from the background blue image better

Thanks
Sam

Sam Sansome

Hi Susan,

Couple of more minor edits that came from our content readability editor (Ross's wife!!).

1) Front page "If you are" bullet order.
Move bottom left bullet (Concerned with RISING..) to top right and move bottom right (Without a BUSINESS CONTINUITY...)to bottom left

2) Back Page top paragraph
Replace "and allow you to focus" with "allowing you to focus"

3) Inside left page
In the bullets
- capital N in "Data Network services"
Second heading in red
- replace "brings you capabilities" with "provides you with resources"
at very bottom
- no period after "Our team of specialists is standing by"

4) Bubble verbiage
Top (blue) bubble
- lower case the d of "discounted"
Provider bubble
- remove "for you to select from"
Total Monthly bubble
- remove "of"
Details bubble
- replace "Drill down to see the" with "Links to the specific"

5) Under the brokering report
- insert a comma after "* For a FREE Telecom Brokering Report"

Think this should be pretty much it until we get a new high res tech photo for you, and confirm whether the ITEX logo is going to be included or not. :D

Cheers
Sam
