I'm trying to create some simple gif animations and I'm having a heck of a time. I'm finding Photoshop 'help' to be less than advertised.
I'm using Photoshop 7.0 (I also have Photoshop Elements, which will come into this story later).
In trying to discover how to create gif animations in 7.0, I check the manual which says: "Displaying the Animation Palette: Choose Window > Animation. A check mark indicates that the palette is showing." Here I am at step one, already stuck.
I click Window, and there is no 'Animation' palette to choose! (see screenie below)
So I end up creating 6 different layers, each layer having to be an accumulation of all previous, and then save them, only to re-open them in Elements. In Elements I can easily create the animation, from the 'save for web' page. The problem is, the same animation is now twice it's original size due to having to duplicate redundant portions of the image in every frame.
What's a newbie techie to do?
Is there some option on Photoshop 7 that I need to switch on? What am I doing wrong?
