Hi! From what I've seen, you guys do some great work. I'm looking for a logo, letterhead, envelopes and business cards for my orthodontic practice.

thanks!
-Michael

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo? Advanced Center for Orthodontics

What type of product or service do you offer? Braces for children and adults

How long have you been in business? Took over an established practice 1 year ago

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? Would like the logo to show that we provide high quality services, that our techniques are modern and up-to-date, and that we are professional, yet very “kid-friendly”.

What are your long term goals? My goal is for the practice grow.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? Feb. 20th … but this is flexible.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience – My patients are mostly (85%?) children between the ages of 8 and 15. The people that would be the target audience of an advertising campaign would be mostly women with children and dentists.

Who would you like to add to your audience? More parents and general dentists

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like? Definitely something clean and professional that would look good on stationary. It should appeal to parents and dentists, but still have a fun side that children could appreciate. I would like the logo to be orthodontics-related (as opposed to dental-related).

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) I would like some color, but not too busy like a rainbow.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? Would like to somehow incorporate braces into the logo without it being a typical “teeth with braces” image. This image of braces should be more abstract rather than a depiction of actual braces. I generally do not like the dental logos with images of molars (roots and all).

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? Professional, friendly, fun

What is your tagline or slogan?

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? We provide quality orthodontic treatment to both adults and children

Where will your new logo be used? Stationary, business cards, advertising, signs, promo items (ie, t-shirst, etc)

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
List competitive URLs if possible
Here are some logos that I like:
http://www.danaortho.com - I like how this image relates to braces, without it having to be a drawing of actual braces. I like how it is very unique and recognizable. Might be a little too simple. Could use a little polish.
http://www.gustortho.com - I like this one too but it isn’t as fun as the first one. It might be a little generic.
http://www.buffalogroveortho.com/ - Not enough reference to braces, but its cute.
https://www4.orthosesame.com/jzepstein2/sesame/pi/images/design/topban.gif - This one is fun and clean too.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Our patients love us because we give them lots of attention.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Great smiles

glyphica,
These are nice, but something about #1 seems disconnected. The logo and the name seem like they were just stuck together. I also don't like the colors that much. #2 is a good concept, but I think the braces/blocks are a little too "heavy". I think it is too busy for letterhead and business cards. From your portfolio, I like the Little Royalty, Jessica Walker, and Fresh Sugar designs.

Thanks so much!

DraganB: I'm not really feeling this design. It is just a bit too blocky.

Taldo: I'm not sure this is what I am looking for. I'm looking for something a little more playful. It is also too similar to the logo for the Academy of General Dentistry www.agd.org (http://www.agd.org)

Glyphica: #3 - I don't like this one that much.... I'm not excited about the font or the overall shape of the logo

#4 - Can I see a version with braces on the straight part of the wire?

Fran: The illustration just doesn't seem like braces to me.

Offbeat: I think I would prefer something that doesn't use the letters ACO. #2 is basically the same as the dana logo I posted. Also, it just doesn't seem to work as well with 3 letters.

This is a play on your business name - it represents a building with windows for "center", the letter "A" ...and of course, braces:)

Designers,
I hope you all had a happy Valentine's Day. Thank you all for your submissions so far. I hope I can help guide you a little better. As a general comment about the logos.. I haven't seen too many logos that incorporate letters (ie... the letter "A") that I like. I think I would prefer a logo that does not use a letter.

Taldo: #2 is a lot closer to what I want, but can you show me something that doesn't use a letter in the logo?

BrunoCalvin: Although I like the logos, I do not think this is the direction I want to go. It might be a little too playful. It is cute though.

Glyphica: I liked #2 but I thought it was a little too chunky. I also like #4 and #5, but I think it might be a little too simple. Can you show me some in between? Maybe using #2 but reducing the size of the blocks. #6 is good too, but I would like to see some variations (number, colors and sizes of the circles) #7 I don't like so much.

Taldo: This is a little too much logo. I'd prefer something a little more compact.

Glyphica: I'm liking version 8c a lot. Can you show me some variations of the font. I like it the way it is, but I'd like to see other versions. Also, do you have a rough idea of how you are envisioning the letterhead?

Brunocalvin: I like your first two concepts better.

LutFi: Thanks for your submissions. These are missing something... I feel like the images and the text just don't go together.

:) here's a basic idea for letterhead...

BrunoCalvin: These still aren't exactly what I am looking for. I wish I could be more specific, but I'm having trouble visualizing exactly what I want.

Glyphica: I'd like to see some more colors, if you don't mind. Can you do something a little earthy? I think the colors make the letterhead look a little too feminine. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I'd like to give a more professional look.

OffbeatDesign: This is a little too generic for an orthodontic logo.

Hello! I am choosing Glyphica's version #10 as the winning design. Thank you all for creating these great designs and making this a fun process.

Glyphica, I would still like to make some revisions to finalize the logo design and then work on the letterhead.

thanks!

Thanks for choosing my design. Just let me know what revisions you would like to see. Also, if there are color changes, could you let me know what colors you are interested in seeing together. :)

Thanks!

I'd like to see the logo with colors similar to your "g" logo... darker blue, light blue and brown. Also, light green, light blue and light brown. Can you please show me a few variations of those colors?

Also, for the black/white logo, can you make the blocks outlines in black so you can see the wire and braces? It is a little too black the way it is.

Thanks so much. I really like this logo. You did a great job!

OK, Lets keep the original ver. 8C. Change the blue to this shade of blue (#95bde1). Keep the dark grey color for the text and the wire/brackets.

I like the new black and white version. So we'll use that.

For the letterhead there is a lot of information that needs to be on it. I'll PM you all the info. I would like to use the blue color for the color scheme of the letterhead/envelopes and cards.

Also, please use the association logo attached.

Looks pretty good.

For the letterhead, I think I'm losing too much of the blank area. Maybe move the top part up and reduce the vertical size of the bottom part?

For the envelope, remove the phone numbers. Please put small square checkboxes next to the addresses.

For the business card, I would prefer a horizontal design.

lookin good!

What about...

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr233/wahnyc/bizcard.jpg

if the font is too small, you can change "Suite" to "#" to give you some room to work with

glyphica

I have one last request, and then I think we are good to go. On the letterhead, the two blue lines on the top... Can you bring them down a hair so they line up with the straight part of the braces? Also, on my monitor, the parenthesis on the phone numbers look different... it is probably just the low resolution of the image, but just in case.

glyphica
02-26-2009, 01:21 PM
Okay, here is that change :)

The parenthesis/brackets are all the same. It must just be the low res playing tricks on us...

Also, check your private messages, I'm sending you a message regarding printing.

Thanks,
Stephanie
