Background: We are working on a new web service that allows you to control your sprinkler system from the Internet. With a small subscription we will automatically adjust that controller based on the weather at your site.
Website: http://www.isprink.com
Details: We would like the logo to be primarily blue, somewhat simple, and modern. If you incorporate other colors I would prefer that you stick with the primary colors.
Welcome,
Please highlight these questions http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7819 and then paste them into a new message in your project along with your answers. This will help the Designers better serve your project. Thank you

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
iSprink (SM)
What type of product or service do you offer?
We are working on a new web service that allows you to control your sprinkler system from the Internet. With a small subscription we will automatically adjust that controller based on the weather at your site.
How long have you been in business?
Recently incorporated.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
This sprinkler system controller will be do the irrigation industry what iPhone has done to mobile phones. We want a logo that reflects that.
What are your long term goals?
Establish professionalism and branding.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Ideally one week if we like one of the entries.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
This is a new business so at this point the audience are retailers that will be selling our products/services.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Once we release the product: All homeowners and companies with sprinkler systems.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Simple and modern
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Blue. We are saving water and we just have a preference for blue logos. For multi-color submissions we would prefer to stick with the primary colors. They tend to pop more on websites in our opinion.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That we are a modern, new way of thinking about watering your lawn.
What is your tagline or slogan?
We do not want a tagline or slogan incorporated into our logo.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That our controller and service is the iPhone of the irrigation industry.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, brochures, and potentially stamped on to hardware.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
RainBird -- outdated logo.
List competitive URLs if possible:
http://www.rainbird.com/
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We have done a complete rethink of our product. It will look and work nothing like what exists today.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
I'm not that creative. Maybe "new irrigation technology".

So far, I am not super excited about the "fountains". I like the more abstract symbol.
I'd really like to stick with primary colors, so a more true blue would be good, and yellow instead of orange, if you want to add more color.
I do like the concept of having the graphic in a box as that lends itself to a favicon and iPhone app icon, if we ever needed one.
I'd like to see what a little depth on the font looks like (e.g. Google's logo).

Primarily we would like to see a "thicker" font. We are happy with the symbol as is. Any way you could give us a few font choices? The font itself is pretty close to what we had in mind in terms of style, we just want it a bit more fat.

I think the top one or bottom one looks good.
Let's go with the top one.
Will we be able to scale these in Photoshop 6.0? (I know it's old, but that's all I have access to at the moment).

Yes, you will be able to scale the logo in Photoshop. Go to File-->Open, select the EPS (vector) file, and choose the resolution you want.
I'll start working on your file package and I'll let you know when it's ready for you to download. Should be sometime today or tonight.
