View Full Version : Software check up: they're gonna close us!

...today, somewhere aaround 4pm, four persons appear at the textile factory where I work. They claim to be the representatives of Microsoft/Adobe/Macromedia/Autodesk and say that they will now and immediately check all of the computers in the factory.

They jump from one machine to another, sticking labels with numbers to them(mine is 11) and checking the Windows Install/Uninstall menu.

Rumor is, that they're going to take some computers with them, and that most of the workers are downstairs, waiting for the sign to start the protests. Let's wait and see :)

Legal wars...

Good news is that at least me, I have all of the programs totally and completely legalized. :P...

Dunno why I'm posting this all here, maybe just sharing... :)
I think I'm the only one here upstairs, everybody's down there in the mob :)

They finally finished their work. They've found on my PC the 5th version of Flash I've installed once and just forgot to remove it afterwards. They urge us to buy the license for it.

They've also found some inconsistances with MSOffice... Well, I suppose it's just another method to sell full versions of product. A marketing trick...

I'm no lawyer or anything but isn't it illegal for a "representative" of Microsoft or whoever to search someone's computer. Does'nt it have to be some sort of law enforcement with a search warrant???
