View Full Version : Confusion on Contest Invitations

I am getting conflicting info from some of the FAQs and posts here.

Sounds like, the more you pay, the more people logically will enter. But then I saw this mentioned somewhere: "You are not permitted to enter the contests until you receive an official invitation".

So, does that mean that each contest is limited to the number of people that someone (Palmer) feels should be invited to a contest?

Hi there, WildCard.
You may be reading unrelated FAQs.
Regarding the "You are not permitted to enter the contests until you receive an official invitation".

The is in regards to being invited to be a member of the Design Team.
Anyone wishing to participate in the contests must first fill out an Application (http://www.designoutpost.com/apply.htm) to be a member of the Team. Upon reviewing the application and portfolio a prospective design team member will then receive their "Official Invitation" to join the Team.

If you look below the avatars of each member entering the design contest, they all have a badge designating them a "Design Team Members". Which means their application to join the team has been approved, and their "Official Invitation" has been issued.

Hope all that clears thing up for you. ;)

If someone can more clearly explain it
(perhaps in 1,000 words or less  ), please do.

Ahh, see, that makes sense. So you get invited to be a designer - but any designer can attempt any contest they feel up to trying for?

Is that it? :)

Any person is more than welcome to post a contest for their design needs.

The only people who are permitted to post entries into those contests are the Design Team members. (And believe me, there is no shortage of talent here.)

I just took a quick boo, and it looks like there's 119 Design Team Members plus 20 Apprentice Members.

Nice, that appeases any questions I had on the matter!

Thanks much!
