Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Wet Nose Studio
What type of product or service do you offer?
Dog Photography
How long have you been in business?
8 years as a photographer, the pet portion of the business is a new avenue.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We are adding a new facet to our photography business and looking to establish a fun identity for it.
What are your long term goals?
We would like to be easily recognizable in our local (and potentially state wide) market. We feel like we have a good start with the business name - we are looking for a logo that is equally creative and easily identifiable.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
June 10, 2009 seems like a fair amount of time - we can go longer if we need to.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Our current clients are all mid 20s to mid 30s couples getting married. They have above average incomes and moderately extravagent taste. They aren't afraid to spend money but they expect quality.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
We would like to maintain our current client base and maybe add older generations that absolutely love their dogs.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
We would like something fun, playful and along the creative lines of the business name (Wet Nose Studio). The logo doesn't need to be a dog's nose so much as we would like something that definitely says 'dog' and definitely says "playful' and 'creative'.
It should also somewhat reflect a boutiquish feel to it - fun but a little pricey.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
We are actually open to any color pallet. Our current business uses baby blue, white and navy accents - but we are open to something different for the new logo. Maybe something green?
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
I think a dog tag or a dog bone could be awesome if done right but I am concerned about it looking too cheesy if not done right.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Boutique Pet Photography - Unique - Creative - Quality - Expensive, but worth it.
What is your tagline or slogan?
We don't have one but would love to hear some ideas if anything springs to mind.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Fun, unique, creative, valuable.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, brochures, business cards and other printed advertising media.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
We don't have much local competition that specializes in pets the way we plan to.
List competitive URLs if possible.
One logo we love is owned by a colleague in the San Francisco area. We love the Dog Tag she uses and we love the simple, classy but fun message is conveys.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Our shooting style, our lighting and our ability to capture a pet's personality are what sets us apart. There isn't a lot of local competition in this specialized field so we are kind of hoping to set the bar high.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Fun, unique, professional photographs of your best friend.
Thanks for taking the time to look at and work on this. Our current business webpage is www.sprayberryphotography.com. The new website for this added business is (and it is still under construction) www.wetnosestudio.net.
