Hi

I was looking at the different contests and not sure how to post this.

Really the main task will be graphics/illustration ..not template design though it will result in a ..well ...very graphical web template design :)

We have a large and growing temple site that I want a Main site page --which I want to be a very graphical front page

It will have 4 primary images (I am simplfying here to make the question clearer)

All images connected in a sort of story way .....

Then a basic inside page template which will be used for 4 different site section templates except each will have one of those 4 images

and will be used as a basis for 4 parts of the website,

(Imagine for example a front page focused on changing with the seasons and then simple sections lead pages for fall winter summer and spring with same design except for a graphic derived from (or related to) that on the front page and a menu bar indicating the Season (section) of the site)

1. So one way to think of it is a 2 page template and 2 extra pages
But reading your template designers are not logo folks made me think hmmm

2. Another is a very graphical main page, an inside page and 4 very graphical logos drawn from but not identical to those on main page .

We will be offering about $500 and would be fine if 2 people wanted to work together with different skills

LOL

and we are very much Out of pocket loss company...kidding ..sort of a non profit church so we could put it there as well heh

MISC? or Templates? or non profit to avoid the question of where?

Thanks

You are correct about our template designers not being great at logos. Maybe you could have 2 contests one after another?

Well you know what I think is design is core of this

The template is really secondary...

The 4 inside pages for instance will be pretty simple
The issue will be getting it FROM design to webpage

I think I should split the money toward the design side...
offer the usual nonprofit template page sort of thing for the templates and setting up the design...

So I can do a contest to get the design for the main page

and a basic design for what would be like a logo of the a writing life bog deal illustration type ..

That would be first

Second would be a template which would add some navigation
and slice the graphic for web?

and a simple template and navigation for the 4 pages

Since they would not have to design as much as a regular template

I could split it
350 designers -- 150 for setting the design up on pages and creating top and bottom navigation...

Unless the designer can do that themselves or work with web folks and can offer to get it done for that amount ???@@@

Thanks for letting me think this outloud. I think that is making sense...and the designers will know about web page loading times and such right?

I don't see anything wrong with that approach. I'm about half asleep at the moment though. Until tomorrow...
