Money Success System is my new business that I need a logo for.

Specific info is in the attachment, about the business mission, sample logos I like, and my preferred colour scheme.

The logo will be used on website pages, ebooks, and physical product such as DVD labels, and books. It also needs to be printable in black and white as well as colour.

My main target market is people who are just beginning their financial lives, OR need a NEW beginning to get themselves out of financial stress. Age groups here will mainly be 20 - 35. So the logo needs to be fresh and funky.
Not a hint of traditionalism please! (even though I am addressing an age old subject - I'm putting a fresh spin on it.)

Look forward to your submissions,

Glenda

Hey thanks Glyphica!

These both have a nice punchy upbeat feel, which I like. I'm not a big fan of the little people figures that you have in the first one - although the balance of that particular logo is lovely.

I want to be able to use partial elements of the logo for various elements of what I produce, and the 2nd logo would lend itself to that. For example I could use a coin, or just the spiral with the arrow and a centre piece for a footer line in a document.

I'd like a slightly darker blue, and a slightly lighter green. I'd also like to see if we could incorporate the green into the actual logo. Might end up with just the 2 colours, but would like to start with 3. For example how would it look if the word system, or the arrow were green?

Cheers, Glenda

Thanks for this.

I like the rocket idea. I also like the shade of green you've used. I think that the rocket is a little too separate from the words, so it feels like 2 parts - rather than one whole logo. The capital "S" from the word success could form part of the rocket fire. I'd like to see the yellow replaced with a crimson red.

OK - thanks for the alteration. I can see you've tried to bring it all together and the horizontal lines either side of "system" help that.

Here's what I would like to try:

Move the rocket down so that the dollar sign is the capital "s" of success.
Italiize the word "success" so that the rocket is on a bit of a tilt to the right. Maybe use a more racy font for this word too.........
You would then have to fit in the "system" - probably to the right of the rocket fire.
The red you have chosen looks too pink for me. Can you please review my attachment to see my preferred colours, and use that red, green, and blue?

Cheers, Glenda.

Hi - I tried incorporating the $ within the rocket into the word Success, but it wasn't readable.

Thanks Glyphica!
OK this is more symmetrical (not that I mind assymetry) and looks generally nice.
There is a sedate feel to this one to me. I think it is caused by the font for the words MONEY and SUCCESS, and the amount of blue, and the shade of green.
I would like to see less blue overall - more red. And I think the green might have to be brighter to go with this.
Also - I like the spiral idea - but I keep thinking "lost in space" (don't know whether you're of the vintage to know what I mean....!) whenever I look at it. I think it's the little dot at the bottom of the spiral! Can we change that somehow? I know it creates the perception of a starting point - which is a good idea.

There are 5 steps to my system, and I've wondered about a 5 loop spiral, so that I can have pics of each nr of loops to go with each stage of my program. It may make it too busy - but depends on the style....

Thanks for retry Glyphica.

I'm afraid this still isn't doing it for me....... Thanks for trying the 5 loops but I don't think it looks right. Font for MONEY and SUCCESS is not very successful looking!! A bit playful and juvenile....

I'd still love to see something from someone that incorporates the words and the picture together somehow.

I'd like the green to be light and bright.

Would like to see more variations...........

I would like to suggest a change of direction for my logo. A lot of what my education is about is abundance, and prosperity - meaning creating a life and situation where there is more than enough money flowing towards you. I would like to see some ideas with a waterfall - or a gush of water - or flowing lines suggestive of water. But something abstractly conveying plentifulness. Might need to change the original colour scheme. But would still like to see some red! Maybe the blue can be slightly more greenish and lighter.....leave this to you....

Hey thanks, and I quite like it! Good to see a few colour variations too.

I like it better without the box around the whole thing. Could you please try putting the little person icon under the dollar signs of the words, and maybe take away the square box around him too. Problem here will be that the 3 dollar signs have a gap in them. A challenge for you! (There are 5 steps in my system, and I'm wondering about making the 5 s's in the wording into dollar signs.....maybe make them all dollar signs, and put the little person symbol under the first one - the capital of "Success") Actually - I wonder if you could put the person icon underneath and somehow get the lines from all the 5 's's to the person (I know it will be asymmetrical - but there should be a way for that to look good). Could get carried away and turn the "C"s from sucess into euros....!

Thank you very much for the feedback.
Here is what I think. If is logo too complicated, then whole your system will look complicated to people.
So, I would like to make it simple as possible ( like I did in my logos in your pdf example ;) )

Thanks for your revisions, and yes I agree with your comment about the logo not being too complex. Still not over the line with these though. I'd like to see the little row of 5 dollar signs go back to a single one. Good try, but I think they now lack a focal point....

Hey thanks for these Glyphica! I like your style. Version 4 is very nice, both the colours and the style.
I like what you've tried with version 5, and would like to see the idea developed a bit further..... I like that you've made a flowing line of the "S" of success. I would like to see it a bit more flowing - like a waterfall.......suggestive of abundance...

I like the way the word "system" is subtle.

I love the logo #2 you did for the Captures in Time. I love the colours - particularly the shades of blue and yellowy green - wouldn't mind giving that a try.....(in that flowy "S" bit), with the red and blue in the words. The round bits from this logo suggest that we could have a couple of those coins from your #1 here bubbling up at the bottom of the flowing "s" line.

Better stop now. ! Glenda.

I would like to award this to Glyphica - version #4.
I have some slight modifications though.

Here are my final changes:

1. Please keep your fonts and your flow lines.
2. Please make the $ just a little bigger.
3. Please make one flow line blue, and the other green
4. Please change the colours to those in the table below. Hope this system works…..
5. I’m unsure whether to have blue line on top or bottom – would like to see the colour difference in your final layout, so can you please do a sample of each.
6. Now – I also want a derivative of the main logo being the dollar sign with the flow lines running through the middle of it, so could you please supply this as well?

Blue Red Green Grey
Red 7 231 222 163
Green 180 71 244 176
Blue 203 75 194 147

Thanks to everyone!

one question... are the color numbers you requested PMS colors?? or???

Glenda N
06-13-2009, 03:47 PM
The colour numbers are simply 3 number combinations of red, green and blue. I noticed this morning my table got messed up when I put it here. For example, The Blue is defined as red:7 green:180 blue:203.
This is just using the colour systems available on programs such as Microsoft Office. I dummied up your logo using a free version of some logo software - just to play with it and see what I wanted, so this had the same type of colour manager in it.
So if there is not an easy way for you to create this, then I'd suggest getting those colours on your screen in one of the microsoft programs, and then copying by eye to whatever system you have. (I dont have an understanding of how you guys do it....)
Hope that helps? Let me know if not. Glenda

Thanks Stephanie I like option a. The Dollar with the flow lines looks great. Some more tweaks:

1. Please make the dollar sign (the capital S) a bit bigger, so it forms a bit of a focal point.
2. Please change the blue to Red:108 Green:134 Blue:143
3. The green you have used in the flow line doesn't look quite right to me. Is it red:222 green:244 blue:194?
4. I think I'd like some shadowing behind the all the words. I'd like it a darker shade of the green, with a darker shade applied to the word SUCCESS than MONEY as a subtle highlight. I wonder whether you have the capability to make the letters shiny and 3D a all? Not sure if I want this, but saw it on another (Crossroads 1.7) and thought it really made it pop.

Nearly there! Glenda

The green is the color you specified. :) Here is a link to a PMS color chart, this is what most printers recommend designers to use for color accuracy. Maybe this will help with your color choices. :)

Thanks Stephanie!
Just a little more fine tuning.

I like the option with the shading and the transluscent overlay. I am happy with the size of the $. But can you please drop it own a tiny amount. It just has a bit of a look as if it's sitting a fraction high at the bottom.
Also, can you please space out all the letters a fraction so they are not quite touching. By the same as the current space between the u and the c of success.

The mini logo of choice is the one with the blue line at the bottom. Can you please add the shadow effect to the $ in this.

Can you please also do a version of both (the main and the mini) that could be used as a water mark? (Is this asking too much?)

Cheers, Glenda.
PS: Thanks for the link!

glyphica

Is this what you meant by having a watermark?

Glenda N
06-15-2009, 04:16 PM
A water mark is a very very pale version of things so that it is a faint background that can be used on stationery or emails. Are you able to quickly do it in a faint version of the colour of the word "SYSTEM"

Changes look good. Did you try putting the shading on the $ of the mini logo where you have the light overlay? Not sure whether you tried and thought it looked better without, or not?

Congrats on getting married! We should be able to finalise this today..........

Glenda N

Stephanie, could you please also just use the two flow lines from the main logo and make a copy of these on their own, so I can use this element separately on occasion. Thanks.

I didn't realize you wanted the drop shadow... when you said shading ;) and yes, I can include that as well. Give me until tomorrow to package all those files up though :) Let me know which versions are good to go....

Glenda N

Thanks Stephanie,
First of all, I'll tell you what I want for the watermark. I have played around using a free version of some logo software. Set the base colour to the green of the main logo. Then put a gradient effect on it. Set the top colour to the green, and the bottom to the blue. Then set the opacity for the green to 30, and the opacity for the blue to 10. This should give a very light and shaded effect. Hope this all makes sense............

Glenda N

Now for the definitive list of other things:

Main logo: Version #9 with drop shadow and white overlay.
Mini logo: Version #12 with drop shadow and white overlay
Black and white main and mini logos: Version #11
2nd derivative from main logo: Just the two flow lines from version #9 (from the main logo).

Hope that is clear. Thanks, Glenda.

OK - we're good to go:

Main Logo: version #14
Mini Logo ($): version #9a (with the transluscent overlay)
Watermark version of both of above: version #13
Mini Logo (flow lines from main logo): from version #14
Black and White of Main, mini($) and mini(~): from version #13

Stephanie, thanks for your patience and professionalism. I look forward to getting the files.
