Thanks for the welcomes;
heh it's a small world - yeah I did some logo suggestions for DNP music worx; they posted a contest once on WHT but we (contest participants) never heard back from them.Oh well :)
Great site design btw :)
Matt (v12kid) is also a member here. I'll tell him about it.
And that's the great thing here at DO, you are guaranteed to receive your payment.

That's why I hate those WHT logo contests. It seems like more often then not, the owner of the contest runs away or forgets about it.
To anyone that doesn't know, I believe Beatz was the person to snap up wwf.com after the world wildlife federation forced the WWF to dump all their domains due to trademark problems.
What did you buy it for Beatz, $8.50? :D Betting that was a tremendously profitable sale for you.
Anyways, Beatz is the man! I'd love to check out your portfolio later.
Good luck on your designer app.

Hey Wildcard - thanks for the welcome and the nice words :)
As for WWF.com - although I'd prefer if we/I could keep the subject on topic/design rather than domains I understand thats the price I guess I have to pay for my 15 minutes of (domain) fame :D
Back to design please :)
Nice designs :)
So, you had the wwf domain? ;)

Hey wildcard
Some of us always pay for our contest there.
I started using them less for that because I found someone (on ebay believe it or not) who does a really nice job for under $25 (print designer turning web building portfolio at $15 a logo.
And because there are so many participants who are NOT good were not those participating ;-)
Also w really want to make our sites more illustrated and thats just not a WHT thing
;)
I find them useful when what I want is to save time and get someone or a smart reliable young kid needing a little extra to do routine tasks.
I am fully sold on this place for design
And I from what I see they treat the designers well. At WHT when someone did do well or at least tried hard I felt AWFULL not picking them.
Here it is different. Everyone is good and seems to win enough and get enough value that even when I can't offer what I feel it is worth I do not feek that people are being messed with .
Palmer has really really done a great job setting up a atmosphere of support and respect among designers. I also have not seen the customers behav as I have on other boards. It is really something. YAY PALMEr

I agree with you on a ton of levels.
1) WHT has it's place for simple template creation and such.
2) The designers here are great! Neat how they work together respectfully.
3) Contest holders here are great too, but I think it is mostly due to the prepay feature that keeps them respectful and in line. :)
