I am interested in updating the logo I currently use use for my pet care company. I currently use a photo of two dogs (the lab is mine). The existing logo can be found on my web site " http://www.vi-pets.com ". I would like to move to a graphic that will be more print friendly, I.e., business cards, letter head, embroidery, as well as web color friendly. Given this, I would like to keep the colors to a minimum, and with minimal use of fine details.
Though I currently use a two dog logo, I would like to incorporate a cat and would entertain other domestic pets (fish & birds) though these are optional as the majority of my clients are dog and cat clients. Given my company name "V.I.Pets" I envision the logo to reflect a VIP feel. I currently use the font Jester and an orange color (web color: FF9933; R:255, G:206, B:107). I'm not married to this color and remain open to the use of another color and font in order to accomplish the VIP image and feel.
My tag line is "Taking Care of Your Pets from Head to Tail". Primary pet care services offered: multiple daily visits to the home, daily walks, pet transportation, in-home overnight and 24-hour care & yard cleanup.
I look forward to the seeing your ideas.

Ejlain: I liked your design. It appears it would be easy to replicate. Though I'm attempting to avoid a lot of fine detail, could the cat appear more cat-like? Not sure what that means other than the current image appears more lion cub than domestic cat.

G)(G Doug: I like the direction you've taken with your logo design. I liked aspects of each design submitted, and would like to see these encorporated into third image.
Background: paw print in orange - greatness!
The V.I.P from the second image (no connecting line between characters, with periods)
The "ets" from the 1st image
Dog & Cat from first image (butts touching), layered behind V.I.P
Circular slogan from the 2nd image
No saturn ring around image as in 2nd image
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CREATIVE IDEAS

I'm still waggin' over here. Made the changes as indicated and submitted 2 more versions. One has foot and tail overlapping VIP and the other is layered behind VIP. Any changes let me know! Thank You, Doug B)

G)(G...(Doug), The revisions made are great. I'm leaning towards the logo with the tail and foot overlapping the V.I.Pets...excellent idea. Could you add another toe to the paw in the back ground? It just occured to me that there were only three. I'd like to see if that's going to ruin the balance.
Thank you, Les

I added the toe to the paw per your request and it balances very well. Overall, this logo is a great branding concept for your business and if adding to bus. cards, letterhead, t-shirts, etc. Glad to assist you in creating your logo--let me know of anything else you may need. Thanks, Doug ;)

G)(G...(Doug), thanks for the extra toe. :D // Here is my tweak. Keeping the right toe in it's current location, could you roll the other toes to the left creating some added space between them. Also the size of each toe should be consistent and not graduated in size. The paw pad could also be more rounded. At present the paw has characteristics of a human foot. In Red Lizards second submission, he provided a good example of what I'm trying to convey.
Thank you for you continued excellent work. Les

G)(G....Doug, I am awarding you the winning design. I would like to request an additional tweak. The far right toe on the paw is spaced too closely to the paw. Could you create some additional space equal to the space used between the paw and the other toes. Thank you for your excellent work. I guess we take this remainder of this off-line to finalize the handoff. My personal email is lplatz[at]sbcglobal.net. Do you know how I go about ending this contest? BTW...I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Les

THANKS!! I want to thank everyone who participated in this contest. I am very impressed with the work that was presented to me and will refer this site and the work of this site to all who are in the market for a quality logo. I am currently in the process of starting another company so in the great words of the Terminator, "I'll be back". :flex:
